Pic is the fruit it must eat to survive. It's called Lobeira (Wolf tree). It's really weird seeing a red doge silhouette in the night pulling some branches from a tree. You can see it's blue flower is similar to the potato, tomato, sceggplant etc because of it's closely related to them.

I saw one at Polar Park. They have various predators found in Norway including a wolf pack and bears.
bretty cool to see but I guess the experience of seeing them in the wild is cooler
>>
>>672789
The population is slightly under 3000 here in Finland so it's more than bears but I think people see more bears. And wolf population is ten times smaller. Never seen any of those animals in the wild. At least I see foxes sometimes.

I love falcons, eagles, and hawks. There is an eagle that has a neetst right by my buddy's cabin in Wisconsin. It would always be out there fishing with us.

My favorite predator bird experience was a few years back
>be last day vacationing in FL, always would feed my leftover food to the seagulls on the beach
>always tons of them around, but today, not a seagull in sight
>look up, and notice a big ol' hawk or whatever just circling around and keeping the seagulls away
>finally one seagull flies up to me for a free meal
>seagull is just eating some bread a couple feet in front of me and this big hawk just dive bombs it
>hawk and seagull ball rolls around in the sand for a couple seconds, and big hawk just carries the full grown seagull off

There are a couple lakes around where herons and egrets just hang around waiting for me to catch something. Pic related. All big birds are awesome animals especially because they are normally smart.

Mine are hawks, have lots of encounters with them.
>at work, walking up small trail back to park headquarters
>mouse runs across trail an inch from my feet
>a juvenile coopers hawk swoops down, lands on my boot, looks up at me, and flys back to a tree

>driving work vehicle through parking lot
>see big loud commotion with a redtailed hawk
>watch for a minute and a half as the hawk fights and kills a squirrel, picking it up and dropping it many times

Also seen a hawk chase a squirrel around a tree, found feathers afterwards

Also many meetings witb red tailed hawks (pic related) and some great horned owls

Wat bird is this?

>back into parking spot next to fishin' hole
>in back of car taking rods n stuff out
>hear rustling from bushes right behind me
>bird is peeking around the corner
>30 seconds later, a pair of ducks come out from behind the bushes

Obviously people feed them. I had a dozen nightcrawlers and a honey bun so I fed the lazy fucks some lunch. And as soon as I started feeding the 3 birds, another pair of ducks came out of the bushes.

To add, the ducks down here are ugly compared to the Mallards that were in IL. These ones are black, white, and brown and the males especially have this ugly red head.

Ahh, like ol' Sebastian. They are everywhere, but I just don't pay enough attention. At my one lake, they always eat the giant snails and other mollusks and the shells are everywhere.

>>673054
Nah, they are ducks. Pic related. I don't see many Canadian Geese around here. In fact, I'm not sure if I have ever seen one around here. Which is a good thing. They shit everywhere and they used to nest at some of my fishing spots in IL and they were mean as fuck. If you came within 50' of the nest, they would start giving you the angry eye. Within 30' and they start hissing, and by 15' they will charge at you.

Here in FL, there are also tons of those black birds that dive in the water to catch fish. They will sit in the water like ducks, but submerged more where you can only see their neck, head, and a small hump from their back. They are smaller than ducks tho. Anybody know what these are called?

I don't know the native wildlife enough here. In IL, it was pretty much mallards and Canadian geese at lakes and the occaisional heron.

I remember the first time I took my friends camping in my woods and we were just barely setup and trying to get the fire to take purchase at around 9pm when the coyotes started howling all around us. they pretty much did schitt hemselves. frankly i kinda did a little too. i'm used to it now, but they still get kinda freaked-out when they hear them. if we're at the camp with a fire roaring it's not so bad, but we go for long spoopy walks through the woods late at night, and if the coyotes start up when we're in the middle of a thick pine forest or something it's unsettling as alldick.

coyotes are actually a problem species in the continental US. hell, some states have even introduced mange into populations in attempts to control them, it wasn't very successful, although it spread their numbers weren't really affected.

In my region, hunting them isn't as popular as most game, but it's heavily encouraged.

I love these guys. They look like desert salamanders. One of two venomous lizards that exist, the other being a close relative. The venom is 2x as toxic as a western diamondback rattlesnake, but they don't produce as much and their delivery system is not nearly as efficient. They essentially chew the venom in, relying on capillary action from teeth in their lower jaw to deliver the venom. I've only seen them three times, as they spend most of their time in a burrow. I've read that they only have to eat 4 or 5 times a year if they are extraordinarily inactive. Most zoos feed them twice a month.

>Guy has some tennis elbow that has been bugging him, goes to his doctor to get it checked out
>Doc tells him "We have this great machine, all you have to do is provide a urine sample and it will tell us anything that is wrong with you!"
>Doc gives the guy a cup, tells him to come back tomorrow with some piss in it
>Guy thinks the machine is BS, gets his wife, daughter, and son to all piss into this cup and then he jerks off into it
>Brings cup back to the doc, doc runs it through the machine
>Doc says "Your son is on drugs, your daughter is pregnant, your wife has cancer..."
>"... And if you don't stop jerking off, your tennis elbow is never going to get better."

Love roos. They're good fun to watch. Don't like hitting them in the car though. They're also great meat. Most of all though they're gorgeous little fuckers, especially if they're domesticated or used to humans do you can give them a pat or hand feed them.

Other than Roos also have wallabies, wombats, cheeky fucken kookaburras, echidnas, eagles, possums, as well as deer, pigs, foxes and rabbits for plenty of hunting. And there's shitloads of all of them around. I don't kill the native species or any birds because that's a cunt's act, apart from roos if you can get a property owners permission, but there's plenty of other shit to hunt that makes for a good stalk and usually good eating too. Fuck I love this country.

yeah we have foxes here too. silver and regular. very friendly. like to play around a lot and quite clever. I never got the whole fox hunting thing. They're such a bro tier animal. I mean a real man hunts something that can put the hurt on him with the most basic weapons. Fucking faggots with their 40x scope and 500 yard deer kills.

I love to look for their shed antlers in the spring, I love to watch them grow during the summer, I love to hunt them in the fall and winter, and I love to eat them all year round.

Here's one from my area in southern Alabama... The Ant Lion. This little guy builds a sand pit that resembles a raindrop indentation at first glance. Passerby insects slide down into the inverted sand cone to their death. Baddassery level 9

echidna
shy and kind of stupid
never bothers you
feels good to find one
if you sneak up on them (pretty easy IMO) they dig into the ground and you can pick them up with gloves or a blanket and they go really placid
eats termites and ants
you find baby ones just kind of wandering around
your dog will chase them and get spiked
lays eggs (why?)

We have these in south Texas, too. You forgot that they are larvae. After they eat enough trapped passers-by, they change into flies.
It's like leveling up after a certain amount of murders. Like serial killer pokemon.

Larvae, true. I stand corrected. Scary little buggers. Waves to Texan ;)

We had a burrow of these alongside where we walk our dog, watched them grow up from little baby foxes. Plus, they eat our neighbors cats

VA here, I hate deer. no one's allowed to hunt them, so it's becoming a huge problem now.
we have record road deaths from deer strikes now and they're starting to attract coyotes into the urban areas, too, because they will come out and eat your garden in plain view during the daylight without giving a fuck.
