Tl;dr, my parents are kicking me out of the house, how do I survive being homeless for a year.
What's up /out/, I need your advice. My parents are kicking me out of the house soon because I'm apathetic towards their will and taking my phone and other luxuries has not "straightened me out" in any way. To be honest, I don't know why they're doing this, the only thing I don't pay for is the roof over my head and the food on my plate, mostly, but they're fed up with me for some reason and they want me out. So my advice from you is how I will manage being homeless for a year.
I currently go to college, which is only two miles from my house. The college is special in that it is a small trade school that I go to and my instructor is so passionate about producing an efficient workforce that he guarantees interviews for jobs for us when we complete our course because surrounding companies realize that the school produces efficient tradesmen, therefore, all things considered, it shouldn't be too difficult to find a job.
How should I survive on my year on the streets?
I don't have a job currently, but I do get paid $8 a day just to go to school, most of which goes towards books and supplies, but I usually have some left over for smokes and other small necessities. The school I go to also has a shower, so that's a plus.
What should I pack in my bag to carry around and will help me at all times? How do I survive while homeless? I think I could manage with what I have, and I'll have nothing but time it seems to study. Other study materials are at school so everything is pretty convenient were I to be kicked out.
I'm pretty intimidated /out/, maybe I'm not worth your time but if you could just humor me before I have to leave tomorrow it would help a lot.

Get a student loan for housing. They're easy to get. Will give you some money for rent. Rent the smallest and cheapest apartment you can find. Anything will do for now until you get a job.
Do not try and be homeless, you may never recover from it. It should be your absolute last option. You have many other options.
Apologize to your parents and work something out with them. Be understanding. They want you to finish school so that you can get a good job and support yourself. Being homeless and going to school doesn't work. You are making a huge mistake if you willingly get kicked out over an argument with your parents. Being homeless is not fun, and if anything, reduces your credibility when applying for a job. Take responsibility for yourself and reconcile with your parents. Don't move out over a phone being take away. Grow up and take a look at how good you have it.

Collect every bit of currency you can get and hold onto it, take note of early opening public toilets to get a was h in on a morning, scope out some places to sleep because you will surely be sleeping rough for the first couple of month or the full year! Find some Mormons, they actually have a really good employment program. The only downsides are that you have to work for them while they help you job and house hunt, and they'll be encouraging you to join them constantly, but even if you decline (as someone in my neighborhood did) they won't just kick you out, so unless you're a euphoric person that shouldn't be a problem.

What is important is that you have no security/crutch mentality and you use your seriousness and judgment in real time.. You need that in crisis situations.. You will do ok.
