For a myog project I need some small nail type tent stakes, easy, normally I'd just get 4 Easton nano pegs and thats it, but the little buggers seem to be sold out everywhere.
anybody knows why? Got a good alternative?
>Yurop here, couldn't find them nowhere
>also pegging general

Al and Ti pegs at reasonable (UK) prices.
>>781148
Not what I am looking for, I need small (15cm/6") nail stakes.
>>781150
any reason you specifically need nail pegs? The ones I linked to are approx the right length (16cm).
Why people don't dig a hole and sleep in it with a blanket?
Why we need a tent and sleeping bag?
>>781138
Imagen it rains.
>>781138
Waking up covered in spiders isnt the best.
Really you only need a sleeping bag that's bug proof, I guess a bivy, that's rated for the temperature, and around that is soft enogh to sleep on.
Personally like a tents room
QUICK PLEASE HELP! First time owning a boat and and i tied it to my dock overnight, and now there is water in the boat! The drain plug was put in before I got it in the water! Is this a normal amount of water after one day and night of being in lake?
>>780444
Aluminum hull?
maybe your rivets leaking?.
probably normal for an old boat.
you cant leave it in the water for a great length of time without pumping out the water it takes on-board.
>>780450
Yeah it's aluminum and made in 1996. So this is normal? This is only after one night of being tied to a dock. Shouldn't it not get water since I have a drain plug in though?

3-day weekends a best.
Wanted to get up early tomorrow and hit that lake I checked out this afternoon. Got one nice largemouth there after only 10-15min and in the middle of a warm afternoon. I think it has potential if I get there at the right time.
Any update on YuroSaintsFan or Mainebub?
Panda Cory a cutest.

Lol I'm keeping up with your saga. What kinda cat is he? Have you a tank to keep him in?
I need a new camping knife but dont know where to start or know as to what's good, what' bad, ect. I just want something that's simple, durable, and under $150. Can /out/ give a hand?
What do you generally do with a 'camping knife'?
If batoning wood or summat, something thick and stout would be a good choice. If slicing food and carving / light cutting....something thin.
Its a lotta good knives inside $150 US.
>>779031
I'm mostly looking for something that can process kindling for fires, and baton well.
>>779019
Get a swiss army knife/mora/opinel n.9 + hatchet + folding saw and you are set for 99% scenarios. If you need anything else you wouldn't be asking or you are heading right into memeland.
Whats up /outists/
As the title states I am looking for a reusable water bottle, I prefer a bottle made of metal because I do not want to drink chemicals.
Preferably 0.5L or slightly more.
Could you guys help me /out/
Thanks in advance.
:)
I own a Klean Kanteen with wide opening and 1.9l capacity (they have smaller ones of the same type). Wouldn't recommend it as a) the bottle doesn't tighten properly (it leaks), b) it was fucking expensive and c) after 10h your water will have a metal taste. In fact, this was the biggest dissapointment I had regarding to my outdoor gear, as I thought I had bought a product that will last me a lifetime and it comes out to be less funktional than ordinary plastic bottles.
tldr: Klean Kanteen metal bottles with wide opening are worse than simple PET bottles.
I use an HDPE Nalgene or Gatorade bottles made of PET if I want to save the weight.
Drinking from plastic bottle isn't what's going to kill you.
Are these portable solar panels any good?
>>776772
You don't need a solar charger. Carry back up batteries for your lights, as well as for your gps. Just rurn your phone off.
>>776776
That wasn't the question he asked.
Bump for interest.
>>776772
I have a goal zero without the battery pack. I strap it on the outside of my pack and use it to charge my phone and other electronics. Works awesome. I've dropped it a few times and it's a little scuffed up but works fine. 10/10 would recommend.
Get refurbished if you can, mine was 40 bucks.
Stitching innawoods: How to and experiences? What are the best techniques and material to carry in your first aid kit?
>>774724
Duct tape.
But honestly don't attempt to suture anything if you're not experienced in the matter. You'd just be trapping in bacteria and fucking shit up.
>>774754
this
betadine and duck tape
>>774724
>first aid kit
In my 40 years of /out/ I have never needed my FAK. I still carry it but it is a waste of weight and space.
Don't be fucking stupid and you won't need it either.
Going to the wilderness to die, or find a reason to live.
I'm at the end of my rope.
I've barely been camping and have little to no survival experience.
Recommend me equipment if you don't want me freezing to death, its okay if you don't want to spoonfeed me I'll end up buying some random gear anyway that might last me a couple nights.
Well at the very least I would prepare by telling someone where you are going so you have a lifeline when you change your mind about slowly dying of dehydration, hunger, and exposure. Besides that what you should bring depends on how long you are going to be out there. How long?
Where are you going?
I'll come with you. I have just some basic stuff though. We will live or die together op
What's the best food for a 2 week trip?
>>773754
1kg of rice krispies. because they weigh less than 1kg of MRES. but you can carry 1kg of peanut butter too. as it only weighs as much as a liter of water.
>>773756
is this really what you do with your life?
>>773754
have you never been grocery shopping for yourself or something? There is no "best" food. If your an adult who is not retarded, you should be able to go on a trip for 2 weeks and not starve. Use common fucking sense god damn what is with all these "what should i eat?" threads lately? How did you make it this far in life without knowing what food to eat?
Is there anything most people don't wear innawoods that you do?
For me it's a waistcoat and im saving up for pic related
Utility belt.
>>769109
I've always wanted a sheepskin jerkin to wear over my mid layer. I'm a fan of waistcoats in general.
Also a big fan of gaiters but thats' not that unusual. A lot of the time waterproof trousers are OTT, most of the muck I get is on my lower legs, they're the part exposed when I have my poncho on, my legs breath better, and they also stop bugs and loose pebbles from getting into my boots.
>>769132
A jerkin looks close to a double breasted waistcoat, but the problem is you have to go into the store to try it because double breasted anything (especialy waistcoats and vests) is notorious for having a slim fit. I personally really like my leather waistcoat but i have a feeling the wool one would get warm during summer

i find watches painfully restricting. both physcially and psychologically.
I guess they are for some people and not others.
Who else has an /out/ job they enjoy? 23 and an arborist here. Pretty fun job but living in the west coast it's a lot of rain and a huge learning curve but God damn is it cool to be able to do this every day!

Can someone help me identify this species? I don't want to let my imagination run wild, but that looks like a brown recluse
That's the redwood wahooger, harmless unless eaten
>>781024
Why do idiots provide such useless pictures. The two identifying features of the brown recluse are the fiddle shaped marking on it's back and the eye count. Neither can be seen here.
>>781060
Why do idiots ask such stupid questions?
If OP knew the two identifying features of the brown recluse he wouldn't be posting pics here.
How do you guys wash/dry your clothes while /out/?
How many extra pairs of underwear, socks, even pants?
Soak in water + sun dry is the best?
>>780965
>washing clothes while /out/
OP confirmed for maximus faggot
>>780983
Washing socks and underwear is pretty smart since you only got to bring two pairs.
Unless you want foot fungus and rashes in you groin and ass
>>780987
this.
you can't carry days or weeks worth of underoos and unless you want infected boils from pænis to ænus you gotta scrub that shit
