Flint. I have no more information than that.
I hope you already knew this though.

Looks like a stone arrowhead.
Good find OP.
10/10.
Hope I answered your question.
>>797336
I think that's called a "scottsbluff" arrowhead.

So I posted in the last thread about my starfruit and mango trees... Mango I think has some kind of disease, but the starfruit apparently just needed more fertilizer lol. I had been using a sprayer but I don't think enough soaked into the soil so I jut dumped a bunch in and now it's growing even faster and the leaves are big and green instead of small and light green/yellow.
Wish I had realized that a couple of years ago, I'd have a nice small tree with fruit by this point.
Mango still looked ratchet and has dried up brown yellow leaves, but I did...

Anyway next up I've got about 7 pineapples that have been just sitting in water for a few years, need to get them in soil so they can actually produce.
Kind of want new trees but I guess it's late in the season for that. I really want to replace a fig and a loquate that didn't make it before, and even had an addenium die that had been with me for over a decade :( Had beautiful flowers too but I accidentally left it outside one night since it wasn't supposed to get close to freezing... But I guess it did. :(
I am looking for a saw I can use for collecting firewood while backpacking. It would have to fit in my backpack (obviously)
if the wood you're collecting is too thick or wet to break by hand you're collecting the wrong wood.

This.

Silky saws.
What wild game have you tried and would recommend?
If I'm innawoods and i come across a rabbit I usually shoot it and grill it over the fire. Not the tastiest but it's always a good chunk of meat

I don't know if this is the right thread for this, but as a person who would like to learn how to hunt but doesn't know anyone who hunts, what would you recommend to get started? I live in northern Illinois, btw.
Inb4 Illinois is /out/ shit tier
Do you guys think I'll be okay if I just don't bring my sleeping bag or pad to a 3 day camping trip in northern California?
The temperature is expected to be around 45 to 50 degrees farenheit at night.
I'm hoping the combination of wearing my gorka, long underwear, wool socks, and a fleece beaner will be enough to keep me warm, with a thick Israeli wool blanket on top.
Will I die?
Probably. You'll also look like a nerd.
>>799922
Hmmmm well can you suggest a cheapish, lightweight sleeping bag that I can get by tomorrow that also stuffs very small in a stuff sack?
I honestly feel like I would've been fine without it.. have you ever worn long underwear in a gorka?
Story on monkey plz

Let's talk trailer hitches
I have an 85 CJ7 I6 and I want a small trailer for camping gear. I live in So Cal and I think its the law for trailers to have electrical hookups and what not.
Do I have to take my Jeep to get the wiring done for this?
I'm looking for a trailer like pic related
>>799842
Any trailer needs lights along with plates/registration; that's a DOT thing, not a state req. Brake/turn signals, running lights at night at the minimum. There's length and size reqs that specify if additional clearance lighting is also needed.
Check with your agent on your vehicle's insurance policy about what is and isn't covered with a trailer. I have a policy just for my trailer that covers not only the trailer itself against theft/damage but also contents in transit. Something that small,...

Thank you so much!
Also worth noting, some trailers (notably horse trailers and converted military trailers) get real creative with connectors and wiring - 5-pin and 6-pin round connectors exist, and they're rarely wired the same way.
Personally, i'd rip that fucky connector off and replace it with either the 7-pin RV or flat-4, depending on the lighting the trailer has. Make it standard so any vehicle with those generic connectors can plug in and light up the trailer.
Wiring on trailers is usually shitty too. Insulation-displacing "scotch-locks" are a favorite...

Is it ok?What are the pros and cons? What would a complete noob need for his first time?
I was out yesterday by myself and I was trying to hike through the forest to get to the lower alpine of a smaller mountain range in our area. I was walking anywhere that was the easiest and I saw a squirrel up in a tree. It was weird because I noticed it wasn't moving. That's when I noticed some taped wires on the tree. I zoomed my phone in on it, it was about 25 feet or so up the tree. In the middle of no where not on a trail at about 1000 feet up on forest service land, 100% positive it wasn't private property.
Don't worry about being alone because...

Hey /out/,
I found a snake that looks kind of like this one while hiking. I thought it was a black snake but my african american friend keeps arguing with me saying it is a kang snake. Which one is it?

I'm wanting a car for camping/road trips to sleep in the back and have room for some gear. What do u recommend? I'm thinking an early 2000's Subaru Forester or a Honda Element. Looking to spend about 6k tops.
What do u recommend, any pros vs cons, anyone have these vehicles n use for this reason, any better vehicles?
Get a first edition 4runner
The Subaru will be more capable, especially if you get one of the older, lighter ones not like the one you have pictured. The Honda has more headroom though. I've heard a variety of things about the Element, both that it's a nice, competent vehicle and that it's a dismal turd, but nobody has said it's total garbage. How much offroading are you planning on doing?
>>798520
I do not plan to do any off roading. Live in the city and wanna be able to take spontaneous trips and sleep in the back for extended trips to mountains and national parks. Also want something I don't have to worry about keeping clean and will have room. I'm leaning toward element for these reasons but considering forester for the sake that's it's a trusted brand and seen as an outdoorsman brand.
So my GF thinks bringing guns /out/ is a bad idea. She is native to the PNW. I am from the south, it is about 50/50 that I bring a gun to the woods in the south. You can shoot anywhere for fun and nobody is going to miss a squirrel down south. Now I moved to the PNW.
I saw a fucking mountain lion on my first good hike. I am now trying to explain to my GF that we live in the west and we absolutely need guns for these woods because a cougar will fuck your shit up badly and so will bears. She says shes lived here her entire life and has never needed a gun when going to...

You don't need a gun for cougars and bears.
The reason you want one is that you are scared. Accept it, move on.

I’m watching “The Survivalist” (2015) and about half way thru when I noticed the plastic water/pop bottles stuck on sticks in the guy's garden.
What’s up with that?
Also, the movie has T&A.
I don't think a movie could ever give me the same joy, whimsy, and excitement as this movie. Not now. Not now that I'm all growed-up.

And what kind of container would be the best for backpacking through Eastern Europe, as lightweight, cheap and easy to use as possible?
>>794463
probably purification tablets. If you live in Canada be sure to get them from the travel clinic when you get your shots, they're tax-free when sold through a medical centre.
>>794463
hey anon, I'm going to travel through south east asia and my preferred mode will be the following:
- Iodine tincture (either tablets from amazon or buy a cheap 2% iodine tincture in any pharmacy) : 5 drops per liter if it's clear, 10 drops if its murky
It is more effective than chloride dioxide, will kill 99.999% or something like that of bacteria, virus, fungi...
Let it stand for a while specially if the water is cold
-Then I'll use the sawyer mini to filter any debri, or any other 0.01 micron microbes or particles that haven't been dealt with
This is a foolproof method but of course most wouldn't consider necessary. But I ain't risking my only holidays during the whole year
