Hey /out/ I purchased these on an impulse buy without looking into the product as well as its effectiveness. Has anyone used Oasis water purification tablets?
I've never used them. They probably don't work very well on oocysts, but you should be fine. I'd bet that they work as well as anything else you'd buy but were probably a bit more expensive.

Well like I said they were an impulse buy and I'm more used to the tablets from Aqua Miria, and I know those work. From the packaging I'm assuming these were made in the UK, and I'm hoping someone from the UK has some feedback on these.

It's going to work the same as any other tablet using NaDCC. I don't know what kind of feedback you're expecting.
I made this one a few days ago out of a single, 12 foot piece of paracord. Slowly getting the hang of it - It was a fun way to pass time /out/ in the woods. Hard to believe people used to hunt with these.

To clarify, overhand releases at top of swing and underhand releases as the sling passes the knee. I give one full circle for the windup.
I made 2 kinds once. You put the rock in the swing it maybe a half turn then the rock flies out and you run like hell with your hands covering your head. To master one of these would take years.

I'm in the market for a new jacket and the kuhl spyfire caught my eye. I have a few products made by them that are of solid malarial and very well thought out design. I tried this jacket on at REI and I really like it but it feels like it might be too thin. Does anybody have this?

I have the Marmot Zeus for insulation in cold weather. It's an older version when they still used 800 fill, so I don't know if I'd recommend the newer models.

Nano puff hoody for this guy. Warm, packs super small, hoods are great. Unless I know for certain it will rain on a trip, in winter I almost ever carry gortex/hardshell unless I'm worried about wind
How hard would it be for someone to spend weeks at a time camping? More specifically in the apalachicola national forest near Tallahassee. How difficult would this be to spend a month at a time alone.

What is the best stainless water bottle? I have done some research and found this bottle by dave, it seems to be the best on the market. It can hold 1 liter, and has a 750ml cup with folding handles that comes with a lid. Can you make any suggestions sc/out/s or anything better for the price.

So I made a post about this in trv, but I wanted to check with fellow sc/outs about gear and any experience in the Scottish Highlands. Next Spring (late april-may) I'm visiting Scotland for about 4 weeks and I'm doing several hill walks. I plan to hit the West Highland Way, Great Glen Way, and the Skye Trail. I'm taking a breaks in between hikes and would like suggestions about what to do with that time, cool places to check out, or any other travel tips I may not have considered.

My wife and I are talking about doing a road trip to Yellowstone this summer (we're east coast). We want to do some car camping while we're out there.
My understanding is that there are no sites with a water spigot. What should we do about this? Also:
