who's the most /out/ musician? what kind of music, if any, do you guys like to listen to when you're hiking and camping?
pic related, young bob dylan
>listen to music while hiking
This is not something I do
I'd rather use all my senses instead of being aurally cocooned in a safe music hugbox
>>680307
I dont listen to music when im hiking either. But when around camp i sometimes turn on folk/blues/bluegrass/rock n roll or any combination thereof. Such as grateful dead, bob dylan, muddy waters, hillstomp, agnostic mountain gospel choir, ocms. On one occasion i listened to riders on the storm by the doors while hunkered down through one of the most intense storms ive experienced while backpacking.

same.
listen to music around camp when I am partying with friends but that's it.
Cool places to /out/ in Utah?

Seen the movie 127 hours? It's got some pretty cool geological features, the caldera hot spring (the pool he jumps into) in particular is awesome, though unfortunately it's owned an operated like a theme park. Antelope canyon is fairly touristy, but still free to wander in and amazingly beautiful. Whole movie takes place in UT.

Old patch thread is nearing critical mass.
Post patch ideas, designs here.
Hopefully patchmaster anon will join and keep up the good work.
Replying with a few of my designs for a Pennsylvania /out/ patch. They're in the old thread, but at the very end, so maybe others will see them here and comment.

why /sci/?
Old thread is nearly bumped out.

this. It's just stupid.
No Hammock Thread?
Hammock Thread.
Let's talk about hammock camping.
>>680279
Why? The topic has been ran into the ground a thousand times.
>Great for uneven terrain! So light! So comfy!
>CBS! There aren't always trees!
>Underquilt! Hammocks can be hung from anything!
>You're an idiot!
>Troll!!!
And that's the thread in a nutshell.
This^^
>>680285
oh come now. there's plenty of room on slow sluggish /out/ for a hammock thread. also, not everyone is sick of the threads, and not everyone has seen hammock threads before. it's winter for chrissake, let us banter
Comfy /out/ pics

Rained later the same night.
I went to the NRA's Great American Outdoors Show. This is 11 acres of hunting, shooting, camping, safari travel, fishing, boating, and outdoor motor vehicles under one roof. It's big. I'll dump some photos, but, here's the link to 250 of them:
Google Photos: https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipMTYtdfR0XBvCaHawCwwVNRYa7_h5mULEuxNiQJ5eNQdeH2Z-bsljSOIV3uT6XTkQ?key=QzRtR2k4V3ZYVW1xbkZNdkppM3FYalZ2eTlNZzZn
This style of camping should be more popular in the U.S.
Hey /out/
I'm looking to buy some gear from Cabela's Canada and I was wondering if any of you know where to find some legit promo codes? I'm a college student so saving a few bucks would be awesome!

You got a point man, after a little looking around I found the .22 rifle I was looking for $40 cheaper at a local store
Does a secret place exist in your town?
One that few people know of. The police may know but never visit. A dark alley or small tree/hill area.
No such place exists in my town. Cant even go into the woods without a ranger or state trooper harassing you.
>>681834
>population of 400
>entire town is only a mile square
>has a cemetery nobody knows about
It's actually a state historical landmark and is open to the public but nobody knows.

oh how i envy you. I have a cattle farm about a mile upstream from my creek, i've drank water from it before, but even after boiling that shit for an hour its still terrible. I just once would like to drink from an ice cold glacier run off knowing its clean.
and yes, I know I was drinking shit water, the power was out, so I had no water, and I will take boiled shit over acid snow any day of the weak.
What's a good, accessible entry-level walkie talkie? Some chink shit from aliexpress? Something old and used? Any stories with them?
I have a baofeng UV-5RE.
They're like $35 on amazon. You can use all the gmrs and frs channels, and the baofeng with have twice the range of those cheap Walmart radios.
That said, the radio is technically not legal to use on those channels (puts out too much power for frs, and isn't approved for gmrs). 6oud never get caught, ever, unless you were using them at one location every day telling your location (like a business using them for a warehouse).
For simple cheap radios, get a set of "bubble pack' radios. Any brand will work. Get a...

>What's a good, accessible entry-level walkie talkie?
As much as you can afford that's incapable of TX outside of CB.
If you just need basic camp radios, you can get a pair of Midland T10s for $20-30 at most outdoor stores. 22 channels plus NOAA weather band.
Not bank-breaking, but not el cheapo shut either.
just got this bad boy in from amazon. what do you guys think?
>>683860
I like the look, dubious quality though
All the reviews I've seen have been pretty good so you probably didn't go wrong

Think you are another marketing victim. Also, since you couldn't find the general you likely aren't too bright, which makes you the ideal BG customer.
Guys, I want to try cricket. My friend eat once and he said they are delicious, they taste like shrimps. And they have a very good nutritional value.
