9 KB,
I just bought my first paintball marker, its a spyder pilot acs. I can't get it to fire. I let it charge for a day, but when I hook up the c02 and turn off the safety it wont fire. When I pull the trigger the safety just turns back on. Does /out/ have any suggestions as to what the problem is

So that's a common complaint with the Pilot series. There are a lot of guides on how to fix it, but the issue is actually user error. Did it come with a manual? On the back page it should be able to tell you an appropriate board to post this on, like toys or whatever, instead of posting on a board that has literally nothing to do with paintball, you useless waste of oxygen

Waterproof cases:

What waterproof cases do you guys use for first aid or fire lighting kit or whatever else you need to keep dry? Or do you just use zip lock bags? I think a case like pic related would be good for a first aid kit (except its not waterproof)

First aid: one of those semi-disposable cheap cellphone bags for my smaller kit for day hikes and paddling. My bigger kit came in a ziplock bag inside a waterproof nylon pouch and it's usually inside a backpack made of coated fabric.

Camera and other electronics: Pelican case when I'm on the water. Plastic bags otherwise.

In general: roll top drybags, with stuff that really needs to stay dry in ziplocks because rolltops can leak if submerged, on boat trips. Inside plastic bags in my backpack...

I use a LOT of ziplocs - cheap, lightweight, disposable.
My packs are water-resistant enough that I don't usually worry about water ingress from rain/snow, but a ziploc keeps things together and dry (things like toilet paper, bandages, meds... things that get messy or unuseable when wet). Also nice to keep things together like rope/carabiners.

Do have a bunch of Pelican cases for equipment/instruments as I travel.
They also make great luggage - Easy to identify, tough as fuck, and baggage handlers think it's equipment/instruments so it's often hand-delivered...

19 KB,
Is it possible to use a propane tank to fuel a backpacking stove that may use isobutane/propane mix?

I have a camp stove that uses those expensive isobutane tanks and want a more long term option, Ive been thinming of just using the propane tanks instead and wonder if it will still work on an isobutane stove, or do I need to buy a atove made for the propane?

Thanks.

If you're talking about the 1lb propane bottles, the fittings are different.

If you want a cheaper to operate stove, get an alcohol or white gas stove.
>>
>I have a camp stove that uses those expensive isobutane tanks

What? I can buy them for $8 and they last an entire 3 day trip. People spend just as much on those shitty Mountain House meals.

Yes, you can buy an adapter to use a stove designed for butane canisters with propane cylinders. They screw onto the cylinder then the stove screws onto the adapter. Potato quality pic related

Frenchfags/Spaniardfags come here pls.
Next month I'll be doing the French way of the Camino and I would like to know if there's some outdoors store in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port where I can buy a Mora or SAK there?
I could have mine but I'll be flying to Bordeaux before I go there so it's a no go.

Don't know those specific places but you'll have no problems picking up a knife. Loads of shops, inc tabacs and tourist shops have at the bare minimum opinels and Saks. You will, however, pay a premium for them.
>>

>opinels and Saks
Thanks, I'm not a fan of Opinels because of the wood handles but if they have SAKs it will serve me fine. I guess I could always look for something in a big city like Bordeaux but I don't want to have problems with police before I start the hike, and with all the problems that France had in the last year it's not a wise thing to do.
>>
You'll have no worries, pocket knives are extremely common and available on the continent. You'll see a lot of local and different styles. Last time I was in France I was about to buy an olive wood laguiole but I talked myself out of it.

24 KB,
Those of you who eat unhealthy fast food and other crap on a regular basis, do you take any measures to prepare your digestive system for a long backpacking trip?

I've been travelling a lot for work and so I've been eating fast food a LOT. I'm finally returning home for a few weeks and I want to go on a hike for a few days.

Protips? I was thinking about fasting for a day before I leave, and eating very gentle foods during the trip.

It doesn't matter.
>>
>>708211
Does it not? I think my body has gotten used to my current diet, because when I tried to eat healthier, I was plagued by diarrhea. I feel like going hiking with granola bars and mountain house is going to do the same thing.
>>
I just bring baby wipes. Nothing worse than an itchy asshole.

I don't know if I'm healthy or not. I bring a bunch of smoked meat, carrots, apples, and oranges. But I snack on a ton of peanut M&Ms. I'm lactose intolerant but the quantity of chocolate doesn't really bother me. If I brought normal M&Ms though, I would be puking out my ass all over the trail. A bowl of cereal can get me shitting in less than 15 minutes.

Wanting to keep honey bees for the first time this spring. Wondering if anyone here has experience. Recommendations on bee species, research websites, equipment, honey collecting methods, etc would be awesome. I live in western PA if that makes a difference for any of the above.

>walk out
>do this every week once a week

You would be amazed at what you find there sometimes for REALLY cheap. It's totally random and I've snagged some great stuff. If you like helly, I see that there all the time.
