What I'm thinking is your natrual mouth bacteria is contaminating the water, possibly giving you a gross smell.
Yep mouth yuck backwashes in and sets up shop. Also other contaiments get in from other sources.
Hey Sc/out/s I have a rock climbing question. If I wanted to set up a anchor using trees can I use a half rope on one or multiple trees or is the rope to weak for this. Pic related.

A single half rope is plenty for an anchor. If you want to use a second tree just anchor the second rope to that and incorporate it into your system.

no point getting too compact imo theres plenty of decent mid size pairs that are easily portable with the right harness or chest rig.
i use a pair of vortex diamondbacks, which was my second pair after i needed more than a 20$ throwaway. definitely not cheap.
compass i dont use much but when i do its a mil-spec cammenga. the transparent types are better in every single facet except durability however.
