Once on the expressway leading to the C1 loop, Ueda dropped behind you, weaving around. His meaning was obvious. With a grin, you apply full throttle, the red MR3 receeding slightly in your rear view mirror until he also started to accelerate. From that point onwards, there didn't seem to be much change. 'Our two cars must be fairly evenly balanced.', you think.
Going at the pace you were, it wasn't long before you reached the turn-off for Shiodome. Back on street level, you both eventually...

Plasti-dipping your car
What's the catch to this shit? I feel like overspray is going to get *everywhere* and probably would not work on cars with older or shittier paint. I really only see it on newer cars, specifically Audis (fuckin audibros amirite?) and other imports.
While cheaper than a wrap, I don't think the quality is the same as a wrap.
Pros: your car will look cool to teenagers on instagram if the pic is low res and overprocessed enough to hide the actual finish
Cons: your car looks terrible in all other circumstances
Like a wrap, it ends up looking like shit over time.

Bloat. Pandering. Popularity.
Need help ASAP /o/.
Like a colossal retard i pulled the belts off my car without taking pics of it and without setting timing marks.
I figured out where to put the belts back on but dont know if the timing is off. 50/50 chance im gonna grenade the engine once i start it up again
Car is a 1982 Toyota Corolla with the 3TC
Ive tried looking up forums and online PDFs but havent found anything at all.

Don't know if this is true for passenger cars or not, but when I rebuild a diesel engine there is a timing pin you insert into a hole that lines up with the crank to set the timing.

It's a single cam with a chain.
Did you take off the chain?
I'm looking at getting a newer impreza for daily driving in the winter. I'm split over manual vs automatic though. I drove a manual ranger for many years and it felt like I had more control than in an automatic. Then again, there is a lot of new technology and driver aids that might make an automatic better. Keep in mind I'm not a car enthusiast, but I don't mind at all the extra effort for driving stick.
So what do I do /o/?
I'll get some nice winter tires too.
>>13909492
niggers won't steal your manual car.
>>13909492
I've heard a lot of people say that those cars are underpowered and you really need the manual to be able to wring enough power out of it.

I wish I had enough money to buy a car for every season.
Can i get a powerstroke or duramax as a first truck? Im 18 and my income is $3,600 a month
You can do whatever you want
I think you need more variables to look at. Do you want a
New diesel truck?
Putting any money down?
Locked in financing through a credit union or bank?
Is your job stable?
Anyways took the bait made me post

New diesels are like 50K+ bare minimum these days
Was on a chevy lot and they had a loaded 2500 and it stickered for fucking 76K
Has anyone with an ecoboost experimented with the fuel octane? I know if you put in premium fuel the engine will produce more power, but what about gas mileage?
Some people say they get better gas mileage with premium fuel. However, since ethanol is an octane booster (pure ethanol is around 100 octane) I would say 93 octane has more ethanol in it and therefore might reduce gas mileage compared to 87 octane. I'm in central PA where the majority of gas stations carry 87, 89, and 93.
>>13909032
Octane ratings have no affect on mileage.
>>13909032
Modern engines can be more efficient when using higher octane because it's a more refined burn/requires less fuel for the appropriate detonation.
>>13909038
I know octane rating is resistance to detonation, but on engines like the ecoboost that can adjust the timing based on the octane of the fuel you fill up with, it can affect the way the engine runs, which could affect gas mileage no?
I would never put premium in a car that calls for regular, it will give no advantage. It could possibly run worse. But the ecoboost is different because the computer can adjust the tune from what I understand

I too have a question relatd to this taurus.
How reliable is this car?
Really /o/? you have disappointed me.
If American is so great and makes such great cars why do they give their cars exotic sounding names (european city names for example) so very often?

Let me ask you a question:
Why do you Germans give your luxury cars very dull and uninteresting names like "S600" or "535i"?

It makes you think, what is even the point of owning certain brands anymore? I know I purchase my vehicles based on country of origin. I'm not going to buy a fucking BMW made in Mexico and I'm not going to buy a fucking Chrysler made in italy.
How is it cheaper to pay Canadians to assemble pickup trucks and ship it to the US than to just pay US workers to assemble the same thing?
Unions?
Less pay?
I can understand Mexico but come on.
canadians work for thanks and maple syrup
>>13907327
actually chuckled
There are a lot of factors that go into factory placement. It is entirely possible that it's cheaper for a car to be produced in Canada and shipped to the US than the other way around (for example, Canada's corporate tax rate is extremely low). The factory might have been purchased cheaply in a location which allows raw materials to be transported there at a lower price than taking them into the US. It might also be related to some sort of economic agreement, but I don't know which one.
Faggot NAFTA doesn't help either. But for the record the Canadian...

Who here /woked/ to the fact that Subaru has been and always will be the best Japanese car manufacturer?
You mispelled Toyota, OP

Maybe at one point, not anymore.
As for the OP, I own a Subaru and love it, but I wish they'd introduce new models aside from the WRX and BRZ.
