Opinions on windshield banners, like in this pic? Ignore cambergang stancefag. I personally think, when done right, it adds a nice touch without being too obnoxious. Gives the car a bit more of an aggressive look.
If its just a little bit of a sun shade like that, I think it's fine but if you go full Haggard Garage I think is obnoxious, trying to hard, and unsafe.

Yeah, that's what I mean. I would never consider putting any kind of words or logos anywhere on my windshield
Hey /o/. Probably not the best place to ask this but I dont think any other board can answer it.
I'm look into older engines, specifically hit or miss. I want to build a super efficient and simple generator out of one or maybe another simple older engine. In my area and for probably the last 50 years, you can get drip gas from a natural gas well. Basically its cruder not so nice gasoline, octane of 40-50. Beyond the oldest of old engines from the late 19th and early 20th century is anything modern that can have a low enough compression ratio to run that? Quality varies...

Don't N/A rotaries do great with low octane?
Also a motor that wont mind running at a fixed RPM for a long time. People use them for aviation.
bump. Basically the same compression ratio as kerosene.

I'm a diesel mechanic in the making. I might go to unoh but I'm not sure yet. I want to know experiences/tips/tricks you mechanics and diesel mechanics use in the field.
And not that "oh just lube up the rubber on your oil filter before putting it on" bullshit
Cummins always makes the best diesel engines.
>>15350314
Nah, Caterpillar and Isuzu make the bet severe duty diesels. Yanmars for smaller shit.
The Komatsu copies of Cummins are pretty tough.
>>15350329
I meant for the daily driver trucks such as in OP's picture. You are right with talking about the big rig payloders and dozers though.
Hey /o/
Just started working In-store at pic related. Only took me a few days to realize that drivers have potential to make much more money than In-store. I'm looking for suggestions for a Pizza Delivery car.
Things I'd like to have:
-Manual
-Spunk amount of power or greater
-Decent mileage
-Good aftermarket (whatever it is, I'm probably going to convert it to single turbo forced induction)
-Something that could comfortably seat a 6'3 270lb dude
I watch a bit of Faggard Garage and Ricest Miata, so I'm also wondering...

What does an engine misfire sound like?
How can you tell if you have loud cams and a loud exhaust if no cel comes on
>open driver door
>feel vibration at end of door
If it feels excessive while the vehicle lacks power and seems to guzzle gas, you have a misfire
>>15350163
Will a misfire always throw a code?
>>15350179
An OBDII car SHOULD throw a code. It will say misfire when you look it up and probably tell you what cylinder or what bank of the engine if a V configuration.
Symptoms include:
Shitty idle (exacerbated by the less cylinders.)
Heavy gas consumption as it isn't burning it
Rich smell from exhaust
Failure to fix it can lead to bad cats.
For reference, here is my motorcycle misfiring due to 2 bad coils. An inline 4 practically running on 2 cylinder giving it an extremely shitty idle...

I really wanted an FJ cruiser. Black with manual transmission. Test drove one and it was ok but they are much smaller then they look from the outside. If you dont need any extra space the FJ is fine. but almost ever 4runner they have ever made is better in almost every way.

I fucking hate fj cruisers. Least practical piece of shit. Dash as hideous. Doors are stupid. Pillars are approximately 4 foot wide. Dumb

The 2005 GT was a cash-grab to milk money from baby boomers.
The new GT has a racing pedigree like the original GT40 and more of a true successor than the '05 ever was.

Depends how much of the work you can do yourself and if you have fabrication skills. If you hire a pro build shop to do that, you could easily drop 20k.
If you can actually do shit yourself and have some skills, probably half that, again depending on fab skills and where you source your parts

took the n/a v6 out of my buddies z31 out and put in the turbo v6 from another z31. he didn't have the proper wiring so I had to custom make a lot of the wiring harness for him with diagrams I found online. I don't think he's getting enough boost so I think I fucked up something there, but it runs and he's driven it almost 10k Kms with no issues yet.
