I live in Laredo, TX :*(
Let me guess: you drive an 07 Gran Prix with 100K on it and think you can drift a FWD V6 with 200 at the crank?
>>13961239
No, I'm openly gay
Hey /o/ I picked up a 2011 Mazda 3i Touring, 'm getting intense vibration in the steering wheel when I drive. Wat do? Mechanic mentioned the motor mounts and shocks/struts were due soon but didn't think that soon.
>>13960726
Mileage?
Mazda3 owner here
>>13960726
Could check wheel bearing/axles
Humming? Vibration on take off?
>>13960857
79k.
>>13961185
I'm not entirely sure. Will check tonight.
what do people mean when they talk about "muh feels" when it comes to cars?
nvh, clutch, shifter, steering and brake feel, sound and power delivery (as opposed to just power numbers)?
if so how is this a bad thing? wouldn't driving be boring if those aspects didn't matter?
pls resbond ;_;
good luck with the thread :^)
Is the sound system culture dead? Is it dependent on location? I haven't seen or heard many donking cars lately in SoCal. Only some mild bass and no ridiculous mods in local car clubs. Just amps, subs and in door speakers.
Do the stances have sounds or would that make their car too heavy?
It's pretty much dead. At least in the fast n the furious sense that it used to be.
stancers dont care about weight. thats why they run 30lb ricer wheels. it just isnt cool anymore to have ricer audio. i dont know why it ever was.
Another subculture I never got. Why put this much money into a soundsystem in your car when you'd get something much, much better with that money if you bought it for your home?
Anyways, I do plan on replacing the speakers in my car. No huge sub though, that's fucking stupid.
Niggers ruined it for everyone.
Is it worth getting ASE certified?
I'm currently training an ASE certified tech in my lube bay.
He genuinely believes that a K&N filter adds 15hp.
Depends where you work, but these days probably not, most dealerships rather send you to get factory trained for hybrids or their fancier cars, and most small shops don't care about ASEs
>>13959310
People actually believe that?
ffffffffffffffuck
/o/ give a brother a serious estimate. I swerved to avoid a cat, hit a guardrail. Collision isn't going to cover it because apparently my agent sold my limited collision on my car that has a loan.
So this is going to be out of pocket, any ideas how much this is going to be?
Also, any recommendations for auto collision shops near Boston?
4-5k.
hope that cat was worth it
Should have hit the car. Get estimates.
>>13957978
>because apparently my agent sold my limited collision on my car that has a loan.
They can't do that.
Is this worth financing for 400 a month?
I don't care about passenger comfort I'm doing it for myself
>>13957166
no
>>13957169
That isn't humorous in any way.

Post cars that have potential. 240sx obvious start
2 door LX GTR Torana.
Honestly, with only 840kg in stock this has a lot of potential if you swap out a bigger engine
every car has potential
I'd love to design a car, even if it consists primarily of donor parts and is more a kit car than a bonafide new brand.
Something small, like a miata, maybe a little bigger. 1.5L turbo vtec, room for two midgets in the back.
I'd like the rear interior to sort narrow and round off like the fat end of a teardrop.
>buy rx8 chassis manufacturing machines from mazda
>make it a 2 FMR door roadster
>buy 2JZ casts from toyota
>put them together
>some weird fabric body that moves like this

That body is pretty sweet.
I sat in a 320i at a car show two days ago. The interior felt and looked like a Ford product. $33,000 base for something that comes with a worse interior than a Civic. Is this normal for BMW?
Modern BMW, yes. Everything until before the E60 is good. Even the cheap shit. Top line cars, with optional extras, were just magnificent. Merc is pretty good these days.
>>13953964
Yes, BMW interiors have been shit for a long time.
>>13953964
The last time i spent alot of time in a BMW was when my dad had a 528 E39, and I liked the interior. Now that my friends are buying 5 series this and 3 series that, the only thing that hits me every time is how cheap the interior looks, and how everything about the layout of buttons is really hard to understand. I don't know if theyve updated their iDrive system, but i remember back in the E60 its was a total disaster.
Why are these things so rare? I've literally never seen one IRL, or on craigslist for that matter. Like I've never even seen NA Automatic shitheaps. I've seen 3000gts, 300zx all over the place but never a single supra. FD RX7s are the same.
Whats the deal? Did everyone snatch them up and destroy them 15 years ago when Fast And Furious came out?
>>13953303
As an FD owner, you don't see FDs because they generally:
a) don't function
b) rarely driven for fear of ceasing to function
>>13953303
>>13953307
Its because they were very expensive when new
This applies to all of the turbo 90s jap cars
>>13953327
So were the 300zx and 3000gt. The 300zx was almost as expensive as the Corvette for the base model and I think the 3000gt was the most expensive yet those are everywhere.
daily reminder that this is the interior of the 2016 Camaro...
>>13952214
looks comfy for passenger, but cramped for driver.
Looks edgy as fuck but better then it was.
>>13952226
100% agree. Odd placement of center air vents makes me uncomfortable
is knife blading a crank worth the risk of grenading?
>>13951716
People do that?
>>13951716
Do it. At home in your garage. Make your DD a rev machine. Super lightweight flywheel and all that stuff too.
And don't worry about getting the balance perfect on the crank. At such high RPM's, the vibrations just cancel eachother out and you won't even notice.
If you're in a race car, maybe. Like, a racecar so plastered with sponsors that you can afford an explosion here or there.
Sorry anon i is only date men with lada, yes?
