How much potential do you think the gt350r's voodoo engine has?
>>13965679
not much more naturally aspirated.
>>13965679
We won't know until someone swaps it into a Miata.

So make it unnaturally aspirated
Looking to buy a first car.
Want something sporty yet practical (AWD and decent sized). Also want something simple and reliable enough I can do most maintenance reasonably (no Audis, and little supered engines like subies scare me). Fuel economy is not a huge factor.
Looking at an 05 Magnum RT, relatively light for an AWD wagon (~4400 Lbs) with a respectable 340 horses ready to go. Not huge on the looks but I hear the ride is nice.
Can find clean titles with ~100K for around $6000 near me. These things have Chrysler's 5.7L Hemi in it, anyone have any experience with them? Any other thoughts or other suggestions?
>>13965360
relatively light compared to what? SUVs?
>>13965360
what u need is a slammed integra my man vtec kicked in jdm tyte boi
If you seriously found a 5.7 AWD Magnum for $6000 buy it.
I am looking for a sedan, crossover or SUV that meets the following criteria (listed in order of importance). Please help me find it. I looked at the sticky but it's not much help.
I am looking to spend less than 40k out the door (MSRP could be well above that).
MUST HAVES:
1. Excellent acceleration (no pickup lag or jerky transmission)
2. Excellent handling (this may exclude all Asian cars...)
3. Excellent stereo (at least 400 watts, at least 9 speakers) and acoustics (I have done aftermarket stereos before and I honestly no longer want to deal...

3 Series?
>>13965356
If you want to go up to around $50-60K, then look at the Dodge Durango Citadel. Mine has a Hemi so acceleration isn't a problem. Handling is really good for the size SUV it is.....it's hardly small. I have a ton of speakers....no idea how many I never counted. Why do you need 9 specifically? I have every single feature you want including the options and a ton more.
I went cheap on a SUV before and hated the thing a few months into it. I couldn't wait to trade it in. This time I got everything I wanted. I didn't settle. Yeah, I bought something expensive, but I spend a ton of time in my vehicle. I have back injuries and need to be comfortable. There are days I spend more time in my Durango than I do my house!
Sup /o/
How do you guys do cold starts?
My policy is idling until the needle moves, then shifting at 2k until the engine is fully warmed up

Didn't we just have this thread
I turn it on in gear while giving it hectic throttle and skid it
>>13965280
Idle for about 60 seconds before taking off, then refrain from hooning until warm. Unless, of course, the car is iced up. Then I let the defrosters do their work until I have complete visibility. Fuck scraping ice. I'll sit there and idle for 20 min if I have to.
Niggers. Use Webastos and other engine heaters! I even use small gas burner under my tractor engine just to ease the starting.
Which would you choose and why?

hyundai or nissan reliability
The 370z is the winner here.

How heavy are transmissions?, could one or two people install one into a car on stands?
one person can. just use a jack to lower it and lift it.
it's a bitch but it can be done. 2 people definitely makes it easier.
FWD transmission is usually compact enough that 1 reasonably fit person can just bench it in.
Big ass RWD transmissions are tougher just because they're awkward, 2 people could do it but a transmission jack would make it a million times easier.
>>13965096
Depends on the car, but even a light truck transmission will be a nightmare to try and wrestle down or up into place if you're under the car. Better make some sort of dolly or jack with wheels that you can use to put it up in there with. You probably don't want it swinging down into your chin or your dick if it falls.
I remember the new venture 5 speed out of my S10 was pretty cumbersome to try and pick up and put into a crate. I'm going to say it was over 100 lbs.

$1600 a good price for a 4runner with 210k miles? It supposedly has a new trans and 3l V6 with about 15k on it
>>13964557
Something doesn't add up
>>13964557
No. I'd pay 1000 dollars, maximum, for that.
>>13964560
Thought the same thing. I never see running 4runners in that price range.

was this supposed to be a challenge?
Remember how modified imports was 95 percent asians before the fast and furious movies came out and then white people started getting into it?
I'm talking late model cars like civics and integras.. Not datsuns and such.
Even the promo girls were mostly Asian.
I don't think SEAs really count as asians.

>remember how low riders were mostly hispanic people before black people ruined it
I want a muscle car just for the hell of it.
What's the best muscle car that's been released since 2010+?
Last muscle car was made in 1973.
The Challenger is about it. Chevy SS is another that competes. Some consider the Viper a muscle car.
A muscle car is unofficially a pony car with a big block motor in it.
A pony car is a 2 door RWD small block V8.
Be as it may, chevy set the standard with these two. It's just Ford perfected the pony car and Dodge perfected the Muscle car.
What are the chances that the dying of the boomer generation will cause a drop in prices of classics?

How much has the price of 30s cars fallen over the last 50 years?
>>13964183
Zero. The damage is done. Nothing you can do to repair it now.
Been looking at cars for a while now.
Have some experience with wrenching, haven't liked what I could find on CL so I was looking at financing options.
Found M3, pretty good, everything checks out VIN-wise, with the small bump of being Auto and having the aforementioned 215,000 miles on it.
Asking price is 4,300.
What I'm not concerned about
>the transmission
>what is faster than it
What I am concerned about
>215k miles
>scat-free...
