Tires are a wear component and have to be disposable by necessity. This makes it difficult to put advanced technology in them. Something like you suggest could cost more than the car itself, and it would still degrade and break eventually.

my point was that we have an entire infrastructure built around the production and disposal of high volume tires, which is a waste of space and resources. something like this could help open up options in the future for the auto industry when it comes to things like maintenance, rather than just replacement.

Is it possible to rent a manual transmission car I can practice with?
My uncle offered to help me learn to drive stick, but the family doesn't own any manual vehicles besides an AMC AMX which is the last car I want to accidentally fuck up.
I know there are courses on how to drive one, but I imagine this would be cheaper.

They have become associated with stancefags but if you're on a budget it works I guess. However, if you're just putting on wheels with different offset or just wider tires with a (mostly) stock engine then it's absolutely rice since it's still gonna be pretty slow.

I see a ton of students at the uni I teach at have the toyabaru twins. Not sure if you missed the previous FRS/BRZ threads early this week.Seems they handle good but will never be fast and many feel its pricey for what you get/can get in the 25-30k price range.
