I'm interested in either a Kia Soul or a Mazda 3 hatchback
I'm not huge into cars, but I'm pretty sure the Mazda 3 performs much better. However I'm more interested in the car lasting me a while and staying out of the shop, as well as being something I can ride with tha boiz in. Which I think the Kia Soul qualifies better for, but I'm not too familiar with the differences between all the models.

I can basically guarantee you the Mazda 3 will be more reliable, and more engaging to drive (regardless of transmission.) Mazda is typically known for making a great shifting manual transmission, and most dealer lots should have an auto and manual there.
The only manual Kia I found when car shopping was a base model Soul with the 1.8 or whatever the smallest engine was at the time.

How does /o/ handle four-way stops?
I repeatedly find that drivers are somehow incapable of determining who arrived at the stop first. I always pay close attention to this, even adjusting my approach to make sure I don't get there at the same time as someone else. The goal is to avoid that retarded interaction where you're both just sitting there, giving each other the wave-thru. If you decline my first wave, I'm going. Simple as that.
Anyways... Just a rant. This seems to happen to me at least a couple times a week. I think the problem is people...

What do you think of modern touchscreen car infotainment systems? Does your car have one? Which features do you use the most? Or is it just useless filler to lure in dumb kids who should just buy a tablet and not a car?
The other day I tried the infotainment on the latest Toyota Yaris, I was mostly interested in the mirrorlink, but it didn't work for shit even though my phone is mirrorlink certified. This made me realize that having anything more than an mp3 player with bluetooth on a car is fucking retarded. You don't want to rely on shitty software on your car.
Useless crap in its entirety. You could already listen to the radio and dial in your A/C before touchscreens, and if you need a map or navigation just fucking snap your phone to a windshield holder.

It's a mix. Some systems are better than others.
The latest Porsche one (2012ish+) is pretty good. Bluetooth works well, iPod, etc. Navigation is very good, nice combination of buttons for things that should be buttons and touch screen for things that should be touch screen. I had a 991 S for the last 4 years and the bluetooth worked consistently for the phone but sometimes for streaming audio it wouldn't sync for some reason.. some fluke. How does tuning work? I drive a 2011 Mustang GT and it's the car that got into the car hobby. So far I've done an axle back exhaust mod but I'm ready to get a few more things at once. I'm buying a CAI, long tubes and an h pipe.
Thing is, I want to get the most out of it and do tuning but how do tuners work? What's the difference between a handheld tuner and going to a dyno tuner?

I've been looking for a new car after an accident for the past month, I've narrowed it down to the 03 Saab 9.5 arc (55K miles) or 04 Volvo S60 2.5T (77K miles), I prefer ride quality (low sound, smooth ride, cabin and cargo space) over power, but I'm not really sure which to go with, which does /o/ think? I'm also open to suggestions, the most I'm willing to spend (before fees) is $7K.

We discuss cars that we like but would/might not buy for several reasons.
A friend of mine recently bought a 2002 Lincoln LS V6 5speed.
At first I thought it was a meh unreliable Ford/Jaguar car.
I got a ride in it one day and thought that it was comfy but still meh.
It was a long trip and my friend got tired so we changed places.
I drove it for about 9-10 hours and God damnit I loved it. It was a really nice comfortable cruiser.
I checked how expensive parts are and they are really not that expensive...
I might consider buying one now...
