What does that mean?
>>14047735
I have no clue. either a car thing or a Canada thing.
Why so many people are obsessed with this little chunk of shit motorbike?
It seem not so good and too tiny for normal size man.
>>14047204
Seriously, I'm finding thousands online, they are loving this stupid bike with little torque. So much aftermarket parts and so much faggots taking pictures on dildo adventure in the anus.
>>14047204
They're fun, OP.
Maybe one day you'll have fun too.
>>14047204
Liking a Honda Grom is like liking anal, you will not know if you like it or not unless you have tried it.
So i read someone on here telling me to put a can of redbull in my fuel as apparently the taurine mixes with the fuel and makes it a higher octane = more KW
AND I FUCKING BELIEVED YOU CUNT
Oh my god, you fucking asshole. Now my commodore is fucking ruined! It won't start again!
I read if you put toluene in Redbull it gives you wings.
Bullshit OP is bullshit.

Cars Driving at Night Thread!
What kind of air freshener are you guys using?
Just found out about these gel things today and got one. Can't wait to smell the car in the morning.
It says it lasts a month and fits perfectly in the cup holder behind the hand brake, just in the middle of the car.

Hey /o/, I recently thought about selling my old tuned car to look for something more economic and reliable. Wanted something at roundabout 5000€ (Europoor here) which is not to slow and reliable/cheap to maintain. My mechanic told me to look at Mazda 3s and maybe 6s.
Now, between all the Miatas, I haven't read much on here - what does /o/ think of the Mazda 3 and 6 from the period between 2005 and 2009?
Owned one for a while, was a lot nicer than alternatives in the price/class range. Handles reasonably well for lolfwd, looks FAR better than its competition etc.
get the mazdaspeed 3 hatch

What are the main advantages/disadvantages of Positive Displacement (Roots, Twin-screw) and Centrifugal compressors (Centrifugal SCs, Turbos) in a Forced Induction setup?
What are the technical and engineering aspects considered by OEMs and tuners when designing or adapting an engine for FI?
roots is shit no one uses it.
screw is compact easy to fit, it's the standard these days.
>advantage of turbo:
significantly more efficient, especially at high boost levels.
>disadvantage:
more expensive due to the peripherals needed (manifold, exhaust), lag.
>aspects considered
need programmable ecu
for low boost, not much else
for high boost, steps need to be taken to control detonation like water/meth injection, lower compression, etc and...

also turbo is tuneable on the fly even while driving to adapt to situations. boost controllers can do some cool stuff.
and even without an expensive ecu and boost controller you can still static tune a turbo to any boost pressure you want with just a simple pressure actuator. with a supercharger you have to change pulley sizes and shit.
superchargers have their merits, but they are basically outclasses in every way these days. modern turbo systems are too good.

Alright, so this is just hopeful planning but still.
I graduate college next semester, and one of the 1st purchases im gonna make with whatever job i get (my degree is specialized, and im at one of the very colleges in the US that supply this education, so getting a job is gonna be relatively easily that pays at least $50k+ starting) is gonna be a "new" car.
Now ive always hated the idea of a brand new car from a dealer (loses 10k in value the moment it leaves the lot bs), but i realized im gonna have to use my awesome credit if i want to get anything...

Another option is a 64 catalina for 17k. Looks amazing, but idk if its over priced.

Or a 71 cutlass convertible for 14k. I dont dig the conv top, and that makes me worry about rust, but for the price and condition, id consider it.
http://www.classiccarliquidators.com/classic-cars/Oldsmobile/1971/Cutlass/342671M221612/2061
Or a 69 skylark for 15k
http://www.classiccarliquidators.com/classic-cars/Buick/1969/Skylark/4463791116443/2220
will it thrive or be dead in 10 years?
Considering electric cars are a passing phase I'd say so.
Short term investment maybe but unless battery technology has a Capernican breakthrough it's an industry doomed to suffer the same fate as the laserdisc and the gameboy micro

I want to make a Caterham from a kit.
Am I retarded?
How much will it cost, and how long will it take?
Are there any taxes or legal problems that I need to worry about in Australia?
don't know about Australia but here in Canada they cost anywhere from 20-70k to build depending on how much you do yourself, quality of materials and so on.
>how long will it take?
depending on your skill and how much time you can throw into it, anywhere from a winter to 10 or so years. keep in mind most kits never get finished.
Am I retarded?
I don't know, did you go to a "Special" school? do people congratulate you for going to the bathroom in the bathroom and not your pants?

Me too
> Am I retarded?
Perhaps, it takes a lot of expensive tools (at the very least, socket set, torque wrench, engine hoist, at least 1 jack, full set of jackstands, probably some electrical shit too)
> How much will it cost, and how long will it take?
IIRC A kit striaght from Caterham costs ~£9000 other companies do similar (if not as good) kits for less. If you have...
