Why is the gasoline in my car's gas tank evaporating into nowhere if I let it sit for at least two weeks?
>>14225528
It shouldn't be unless your car is carburetted, you have a leak somewhere
>>14225528
Your neighbor is reselling it
Australia or Canada?
how expensive would it be to ls swap a miata for real?
would it handle like a shelby cobra and just fuck my existence up?
>>14225421
>handle like a shelby cobra
You mean handle like shit?
Yup
>>14225421
Power doesn't affect handling and all in it adds about 100kg of weight.
>>14225428
this is a meme, an LS will in most cases be within 100 lbs of the engine it's replacing.
Anyone know how to turn on the air compressors at 7/11 and other gas stations? I'm not paying a fucking dollar for air. The compressors at 7/11 have a button on the side of the coin slot, is there a combination to turn it on?

What do you have against Automatics?
Pic unrelated
>>14225383
In general in the past as a rule, automatics meant power loss, slower shifts, unpredictable shifting, poor mpg, heavier overall more complicated and made driving boring compared to manuals.
However many of those problems have been negated with the newest designs, but the overwhelming amount of autos still on the road have many of the same problems I listed above.
Nothing inherently against automatics; they're fine for DDs but do NOT belong in feelsy sports cars. Regarding performance cars their place is more engineering pissing contest brainchilds such as the GTR which are later bought by benchracers.
>>14225461
Fine for cars designed as a DD* Any car can be a DD depending on needs.

Sitting on blocks with oil leaking everywhere isn't an upgrade. That said, nice cars.

http://www.fia.com/news/auto-13-drive-hydrogen
But who pays for the hydrogen pumps – the fuel company, the OEM [Original Equipment Manufacturer], the government – is not clear. Europe should look at Asia; it’s a good indicator that you can make into a business case. South Korea has 43 stations with a target of 500 for 2030; Japan has 100 with 800 planned for 2025. Asia will be a driving force for hydrogen storage.”
Will Hydrogen cars be a viable thing or just a stop gap until electric cars really match current ICE vehicles
>>14224222
Well you can use hydrogen for fuel cells, so that's kinda nice.
>>14224477
Wouldn't an ICE on hydrogen be more practical?
BMW and Mazda have done it already
>>14224526
ICEs are horribly inefficient, a fuel cell powering an electric motor should be more effective.
>constantly browsing listings of cars I'm not even close to affording
>can only realistically afford to finance a boring, sub-$20k econo-box
How do I wasting my time looking at nice cars? I even go through the process of estimating the monthly payment to figure out how much of a down payment I would need to afford it. Anyone else do this weird shit?

You could get something interesting if you bought used.

Why murricuck dont buy Avants, but eating shitty sedans and overpriced Allroads??
Hey /o/ I wanted to buy a used car around 7k or less. I went to many dealers here in North California but had no luck. I'm maybe not yet sure of a specific car to buy. I'm looking for a sedan, Coupe or hatchback that's decently fast and preferably 4 cylinders. I was offered a Toyota Celica 01 for 8k and has 34k miles on it. What do? Should I buy? Pic related of the same type of celica but not the one I was offered with 34k miles
Is the Celica a chick car?
Don't get it . A friend kg mine has the gts he bought for 4K . Slow, shitbox, girly, ricey aftermarket . Get an older eclipse if you really want that look. For 7 K find an and one

the one i bought used had a big pink glittery sticker on the dash that said kylie
so yes
Got around 3500$, it's my life savings. Recently got my license and don't know shit about cars. Dubs picks the car I buy. Has to be able to be found under 3500$, obviously. Please be nice.

Get a corolla
You must purchase an 80's F250. Heavy, dated af, horrible mileage, probably rusty, due for lots of parts to be replaced. On your brightside, you can haul.
OK so I love the idea of fixing a car up myself but
>no tools whatsoever
>literally ZERO experience
>no garage, driveway or anything like that
Now I can't be the only one like this. Surely some of you have overcome this shit, but how?
Start by changing your own oil, then move on to harder stuff like brakes and since you have no experience use youtube or have someone whos mechanically inclined walk you through it so you dont fuck your car up
>>14223987
>no tools whatsoever
Start with a small mechanics set. Then purchase a set of jack stands and a jack.
>literally ZERO experience
As long as you can read and follow directions there isn't a whole lot you can't do without experience.
Forums are great for in depth tutorials. Most people even know of a better way than the manual may suggest.

This
I started from changing tires when I'm 15 and I'm now replacing alternator and control arms.
I finally got an impact driver and work is getting done in an hour or less instead of a couple hours.
Start off with a socket tool kit.
So, I recently bought myself a boat, it's a 1984 Buick Lesabre and it's second night in my driveway, someone has already stolen the passenger side mix-match hubcaps I planned on replacing anyway.
But, now I'm concerned about replacing them, should I just roll with steel wheels showing, or get true wire replacement wheels.
What would you guys do about this?
It's a white sedan with a black top, so I don't think steel wheels would look too bad all around if I kept 'em clean with the white wall tire
