I ran into my cousin at vatozone yesterday and she was buying another alternator for her car because her mechanic said the first one she got was for an automatic trans and hers was manual. What the fuck difference could that be? It's a ford focus that i think is a 2003. Is this guy full of shit or what?

even if there is a difference, which is unlikely, she shouldn't be paying for the second part if the mechanic ordered the wrong part the first time, that's his problem not her's. She should only be paying for the parts he is putting into her car, not to fill up his inventory stock.

It's done it's job as a marketing tool. People have associated turbos with performance for a long time, naming the cars something else drove away that image. Not to mention a turbo car tuned for fuel economy isn't going to be running the same setup as a turbo car tuned for power.

Is it bad idea to buy quality used tires? And, if I get new tires, is it worthwhile to go for a quality brand? I'm looking at Discount Tire for the latter.

Fuck no. Are you dumb? Just make sure you don't get ripped off, of course. Should have at least 6mm left on them to be worth your while otherwise you'll be changing them in a couple years time again. Check them for damage and date of production. Old tires are shit even if they have lots of profile left, they get brittle and turn to rubber dog shit. Don't buy used tires older than 3 years. Wheels can be older than that as...

What does /o/ think of harbor fright tools? Think most of their stuff is junk but recently broke my Snap On FHX80 ratchet and needed a temp replacement. Had a coupon anyways with harbor fright so I figured I'd give their "Pro" line a try.
Gotta say I really like the ratchets. I really beat on the long handle 1/2 ratchet doing suspension work. Really impressed when you think about the cost. Only thing i'd change is make it locking flex head and dump the comfort grip. While my FHX80 is fixed already I think i'll leave it in my tool box for the time being.
Best tool rental place available.
Every time I go in there, the register has a line of people returning "lightly used" tools that they somehow have a problem with. "Wrong color, too heavy, wrong size, wife said take back...."

Man they did a good job ripping off Snap On, thought that's what they were in the thumbnail, I have the same 3 ratchets in Snap On (flex head comfort grip). Ratchets aren't something I would ever cheap out on, I have a few harbor freight tools though, socket trays, small pry bars, body hammers, for that kind of stuff Harbor Freight is good

I'd love to come, but I drive a Camry Hybrid hand-me-down. The battery pack needs replacement, it needs an alignment, the transmission needs a rebuild, it needs all new body paneling, and it has a multitude of other problems. I'm just gonna sell it, and buy a new car.
I'm debating what to get next. Fiesta ST, Fiat 500 Abarth, Mini Cooper S, Kia Forte5 SX, or wait a while on something new.
The 2016 Nissan Versa S 1.6L base model in manual is only $11k brand new. I'm a poorfag and could still easily afford this.
