Fit or Fiesta?

New vs New?
Fit.
Buying used?
Fiesta
Punto Abarth
>>14630134
Base model, probably Fit.
But a 5spd 1.0l ecoboost Fiesta would be my choice with options.

What were BMW thinking?
>>14630050
money
>It looks good and out target market doesn't know shit about shit about fuck about cars anyway so it won't even be a consideration for them because if something goes wrong they will just send it to one of our certified mechanics who will rape their butthole ferociously and make us more cash money.

>bmw
>ever caring about making maintenance and repair easy, cheap, or even possible
I've never done anything mechanical but I want to build a cafe racer. I just want to know what kind of resources I should use to guide me through the process. What kind of base bike should I start with? Anyone who can give me pointers too would be sweet.
What displacement? How aggressive? (i.e. do you really want clip-ons?)

Everyone will hate you for changing the bars and seat.

What do you guys think of DCT?
>>14629252
its shit.
emulates a torque converter and slips the clutch at idle. press the brake down a bit, still slips the clutch.
slow as shit
rev matches takes too long. slow
>>14629296
You might be mistaken with SMG? Dual clutch transmissions are usually pretty damn good. Haven't driven a BMW one yet, though.
It's pretty neat.
but if i had the option, i'd get the cheaper manual.
/o/, educate me in the ways of the mid to late 80s Volvos. Like the 240 and the 740. Are they as dependable as they say? Are the turbos any good? What should you pay for one, and what milage should you be looking for (mid 100ks?). How easy is it to find parts for. Are they better in quality and dependability then let's say a mid 2000s subaru legacy/outback?
I've done a little digging around and they look good, but I wanted /o/'s opinion. Let's face it neither of us have anything better to do.
As usual shitposting is welcome. Faggots.

Successful motorsport career in the 80's
Do they make the 240 in a sedan with a turbo? How scarce are those?
At least the 240s are overrated. The auto transmissions, the fuel injection, and the HVAC are known to have issues. The bodies themselves are rust-prone in weird places like around the windshield. They're also not that safe in a modern context.
A mid 2000s Subaru is going to be in much better condition just from age and the electronics/electrics are going to be infinitely more reliable. Just don't get the engine with defective head gaskets and keep in mind the 4WD system will need axle shafts and shit.
Talk me out of it, /o/.

You do reallized about forty people have driven your car , specially smelly truck drivers. Before it even gets to the dealer ship. Why do you think there is no new 0 mile cars, they all have like 17- 40 miles

You are the true cuck, sir.
Am I stupid for wanting an srt4? I can't justify wrx insurance rates but want a fun turbo daily.

yes

No, just extremely poor both in taste and bank account.

E84 interior looks shit. F48 good, but expensive. A4 allroad better and more space in saloon.
How bad of an idea is it to buy an nc, rip out the softtop, put in a nice rollcage and get a nice hardtop?
Hardtop miatas are the sex
>>14627952
Just throw your money away, it will be faster and more fun.
NC's can be had with a folding hardtop.
How do you justify our love of cars in todays "muh economy, use public transport, at least go electric, motorsports are killing the nature" culture?
My go to excuse is: a freight vessel uses more fuel in one trip over the Atlantic than any of my driving will in my whole lifetime.
I don't, I just ignore them.
I don't justify it. I lament the wrongful accusation of, of all things, cars to be of this acclaimed major concern to environmental deterioration.
And since I'm a nobody who can't change this, I will enjoy cars for as long as I can.
>>14627459
Except the freight vessel serves to carry meaningful cargo, as opposed to what your car carries on the daily.
Alright /o/ what do you think about the Hyundai Veloster, specifically the turbo version? I know it's a 1.6 liter and I know it's FWD don't count those as factors but what is the opinion? I want to know before I buy.
Not worth it
for the visibility and lack of practicality you could get V6 moostang or camaro or something and be WAY faster.
also they're not really worth more than 18-19k, but sell for 20-23.
I know they're not fast, I mainly like the look. Right now I have a 2013 Kia Soul (I know, I know) and can get 10-15k for it. Used 2014 Velosters are 15k. I can nearly do a straight trade for a turbo car with some sick looks and features.
Did I fuck up /o/?
>>14626794
Yes. Coulda had a V8.
You only fucked up if you regret it. Not what I would have bought but not a bad choice

Anyone here have tips to get over the fear of driving?
I drive almost everyday, but I still haven't been able to drive comfortably, I'm always on edge when I drive and it makes me almost paranoid, I sweat even.
Doesn't fucking help that everyone in this city drives like they lack a brain.

>growing up without a father figure
So, my dad wants to get a 2015 BMW X6, preferably an xDrive 35i, but I've heard a lot of negative things about them. I honestly don't see much wrong with the car and he seems to really like it. He can afford the car, that's not a problem and we're ausfags. Because I'll be driving it too, I'd like to know what /o/ thinks and if I should convince him to look at other options.
>>14625764

do you want to own something that feels like a sportscar with a 8 inch lift on it?
>top heavy
>ruined aerodynamics
>still no backseat room
>no offroad capability
>too short to fall into and to tall to hop into
>ruined mpg's
etc
>>14625764
Crossovers are lame, usually only women like them. Tell him to buy a 5 series sedan instead.
