Is this thread about the silly lyrics in Initial D songs?
Because they're really silly.
I know everyone will probably say that this car is only a shopping cart for girls.
But what would you think about guy owning this car? Gay/not gay?
Also, general Fiat thread

abarth 500's are pretty acceptable and fun
>>14633247
Why though? I feel like there are so many better options in the price range.
>>14633276
I can get one for a really great price + perfect city car + i love the design.
What do you guys think of 5 cylinder engines? Should automakers do some R&D to keep them relevant, or should they just die out in favor of I4/I6/V6?
They are absolutely awesome in every respect and sound fantastic. It would definitely nice to have them as an option on cars in the future.
On the other hand they are outdated and obsolete from all I know.
>>14633071
>gas mileage of a 6
>power of a 4
They were literally designed just for GUYS WE NEED MORE CYLINDERS FOR MORE POWER BUT TRANSVERSE LAYOUT LOL LETS JUST GO WITH 5 AND CALL IT A DAY
There's nothing special about them they don't excel at anything compared to any other layout, but a small amount of people on here love them because they're fucking hipsters.
What are some pros and cons of mustang foxbodys? Should I buy one if I want a fast DD and prefer American cars?
>pros
Super easy to make more power out of them
Assloads of aftermarket, you can do anything to these cars
Stealth looks
Cheap as chips
302 has a god-tier exhaust note with an h-pipe
They can clear 20mpg highway if you don't go too crazy with rear end gears
Tilt steering wheel is great for taller people
>cons
Shit gas mileage most of the time
Theyre old, things will be worn out, I wouldn't 100% trust it as a daily
Often abused
Face only a mother could love

It's ugly
It's poorly designed in every possible way.

I see
Are they as hard to use as they seem?
So I drove a manual car for the first time today.
Holy hell, that was the hardest thing I've ever done in my life. I only had 1 clean start out of upwards of 50 and about every 7/10 starts I tried I would lurch and stall it. After the miraculous first one I would end up revving the piss out of the engine and even squealing the tires, presumably because I took too long to let off the clutch and held the throttle too long in the process, but if I went any faster it would lurch and stall and was told not to let off so quickly.
What the fuck am I doing wrong?...

Give it a very small amout of revs and slowly raise the clutch without increasing the revs. Once you are moving slowly let the clutch all the way up and then give it more revs.
>TFW British and the first time I drove an auto I broke my nose on the dashboard when coming to a stop thinking the brake was the clutch
It gets really easy really fast.
I've owned a manual car for about 1 month after driving automatic for 7 years. I haven't stalled it in over a week, can rev match with decent accuracy, and even heel-toe downshift smoothly about half the time.
>Hold revs at 2k
>Release clutch until revs drop
>More throttle to keep revs at 2k
>Gradually let out clutch while maintaining same rev
>You did it
You basically can't do wrong as long as you let the clutch pedal out smoothly and modulate your revs. Be sure to release the pedal smoothly all the way, not just until the car is moving.
I have been buying and selling cars for a while now, and plan to start a legitimate business to do so. I usually try to deal in "cool" cars especially older cars (can often be found for absurdly cheap)
Anyone have any good names?

Bob's hot car lot
Been looking at some cars lately, not sure which to get,
Interested in either a 2014 Infiniti Q50 but they are like $25k and the ones on craigslist that are 19-22k are all REBUILT
BMW 328i are also in that price range rebuilt too, and 328i engine sucks
those are the type of cars im interested in, luxury, sport, comfort, 4 door, aesthetics,
what's the best I can get for $20k MAX?
Buy a civic and shut the fuck up
Quattroporte
>>14631957
get an e9x 335i.
tons of power, comfy rid and you wont have to settle for some shitty wrecked one in your price range. Plus you're almost in the price range for the M3 too.
>tfw some jackass so far up my ass i can't see his headlights in my rearview mirror
hope you enjoy doing 30 in a 50, asshole, cause i'm not speeding up until you back off
Yeah that shit annoys me too, but slowing right down is only going to aggrivate the person more and could make them do something very stupid and dangerous. It's best to either maintain the speed limit or go a bit above it and if thats not good enough for them then they can pass you when its safe
>>14631744
i don't drop my speed immediately. usually i maintain whatever speed i was going and then slowly bleed my speed, maybe a mph every ten seconds or so.
if they don't get the message they're a fool
>>14631754
I don't understand why people do that anyway. What are they trying to prove? If you hit the brakes and they rear ended you, their insurance company is going to have a field day
Focus vs. Fiesta ST as DD?
I drove both of these today and both were fun -- the fiesta handled better but the focus has room in the back and trunk if needed. These are both selling around the same price in my area (without recaros: ~20k for fiesta, 20.5k for the focus. With recaro packages -- 23k for fiesta, 23.5k for focus)
Seemed to me the fiesta was funner, but my passenger preferred the focus due to the space and smoother ride. Also getting a size bigger for nearly the same price seems like a good deal.
what would you do /o/?
Focus if you need the space, Fiesta if you don't. No reason to look at anything else.
>meme cars
>>14631701
I went with the Fiesta (had to have the recaros too), it's a ton of fun.
What I've usually heard is the focus feels cramped for a big car while the fiesta feels roomy for a small car. I think there isn't a significant difference in cargo room between the two. They both have a ton of aftermarket support and are running similar quarter mile times. The only real drawback in the Focus is the 'worse' handling, the only real drawback in the Fiesta is it's a Fiesta.

Hey /o/ I've been looking for a older car to learn to wrench on and eventually have a fun car to drive around in. I found a 82 supra for 2000. The story on it is it was the woman's ex's car and she got it in a settlement. It hasn't moved in 6 years but still starts when the battery is hooked up.
Just wondering what kind of things it should be wary of and look for given the age and the fact that it's been sitting for so long. Would really appreciate the help.
Nice supra pics welcome to
You want a first car to learn to wrench on. Don't buy a supra. They are finicky cars and do not like being fucked with.
You want to learn to wrench get a Honda or a Chevrolet.
>>14631691
I'm also looking at getting an old toyota to work on. If you think you're up for it, go for it. It'd be a fun experience. I have a mk3 supra that would be super complicated to work on, (lots of vacuum hoses and very little room) but i'm not sure about the mk2 supras. They might be alright to work on. Great looking cars too.
Make sure you drain and replace all the fluids since it's been sitting for so long. Even if it still starts, it wouldn't be wise to drive without doing that...

If the model's year starts with anything above 1969, you really, REALLY shouldn't have whitewalls.
That said, I have no problem with them on most things before 1969
Long story short, my GF totaled my beater a few weeks ago. I've been driving classics my whole life, but needed a bit more utility this time around. I've been wanting one of these ever since I was a kid.
