Okay so there are these 2 cars I see sitting in a driveway almost everyday, the house looks abandoned and the cars are rusted and the tires are flat so they've been sitting there for awhile.
Is there anything I could do to claim these or would it be weird if I at least stole the wheels from them?
>pic not related
>Also abandoned cars general I guess.
Your parents must have been terrible at raising you.
>>14637355
Knock on the door and ask to buy them asshole
if theyve been sitting there forever, id have no problem with lifting the wheels. I would, however try to find the owner of them first and try to buy the cars first.
Looking at buying a 2nd hand Ford transit that was used for some company as a sort of camper thing where I jam a mattress in the back. I am looking to travel alot, but not pay the big bucks for lodging. Are there better cheaper options that will give me decent reliability and mpgs?
Ford Ranger or Chevy S10/Colorado with a topper. A full mattress should fill the bed.
Japanese trucks (Ram 50, Mighty Max, Isuzu Pup, Toyota T100/Tacoma, 720/D21/Frontier) would work as well, but the Japanese manufacturers tend to use numerically higher gearing in their trucks than the Americans, which hurts mileage at speeds over 55mph.
Yeah, an economy wagon with back seats that fold down
Saturn wagon with back seats taken out
Hey guys, I need some help with my car and I'm getting desperate so I thought I'd come here. I have a 2001 lexus is300 that has been giving me a check engine light p0440.
I got some repairs done, and the check engine light returned after 200 miles which seems a little strange. I also need to pass my smog test in 2 weeks.
I was told I can reset the check engine light with a scanner, drive for about 10 minutes to reset some smog monitors, and take the test and pass. Is this true?
>>14636050
I forgot to mention, my uncle is a smog technician and this is what he told me. I intend to fix the fucking problem with my car, I just need some more time to figure out exactly what it is. I'm in California.
>>14636056
Why not just get your uncle to pass you?
It depends on what sensor is throwing the code. My car had an evap sensor problem and the sensor wouldn't be ready to scan until I drove atleast 50 miles after I reset the battery
Shopping for my first car/truck where is the best place to start
start with the 4chan /o/ board. make sure to be as vague as possible
good luck
Not here, that's for sure.
>>14636040
The corolla store
Anyone on /o/ get one of these in the mail?
>>14635943
Yeah, it came with my new Ferrari
why would I order a box of fiat cologne
>>14635943
Not you for sure
Anyone have lock nuts or 7 sided lug nuts on their car?
Every time I buy a car with locking wheel nuts the first thing I do is change them for normal ones. It's pretty rare round here for wheels to get nicked but I'm far more concerned about having a flat tyre and discovering that the socket is missing
>>14635810
They're pretty easy to break and keys for them aren't hard to get. Lots of shops have a collection of keys for when the owner forgets to bring theirs. But they will stop an unprepared newbie theif I suppose.
I've gone the easy way and hooked up a 2kg charge of C4 that detonates if the bolts arent removed in a very specific ordee
Which one /o/? G35 350z or an rx8 as a second car?
neither. None of those are very good and all of them use quite a bit of oil.
>>14635657
Well what would be a good affordable used rwd car. Besides the miata
That's all shit choices.
Is this a bait thread.
G35 and 350z use the same underpowered and oil drinking VQ or VH or whatever engine designation.
The RX8 is a rotary and unlike the RX7 it can't be turbocharged because it's designed even worse and the compression is too high to do anything with it.
So I am in the process of buying a 1976 Plymouth Volare. I've always wanted to own one, and now I finally get a chance.
Has anyone owned one/owned something similar? What can I expect? The one I am trying to buy has only 78000 original miles. It's been taken care of fairly well.
Picture very related

>mopar
at least it's not Ford lol
>>14635483
Fucking hell, that's massive.
>>14635487
The size of it ain't overall that bad. I've always preferred coupes. The sedan version of the Volare just doesn't catch my eye as much as this one does.
Dumb question but what's the protocol for transporting a car you buy to your house in the UK?
Say I buy from a private seller 50+ miles away, I need to insure it fully before moving it to my place?
Don't you have transfer plates in the UK?
>>14635456
Typically if you buy a car you'll just take the licence plate that's already on that car, the licence plate laws here are more strict.
>tfw someone saved that pic
mang you didn't even save my good interior pic from that car.
So /o/, I have a 2000 jeep WJ with the straight six engine. Jeep has roughly 157,000 miles on it. I seem to be having a very abnormal and modestly occurring symptom that I am.not very inclined to understand since I am not a mechanic.
Whenever I drive for a semi extended period of time in humid weather, I will have trouble starting my Jeep when I return to the vehicle. The vehicle WILL start, almost always, but it will be a very weak start with an immensely rough idle.
While this is happening, I can literally push the pedal to the floor and nothing will happen....

Old spark plugs vs new spark plugs.
I'd also like to point out that my coolant is more of a thick brownish than orange. Any idea what that could mean?
>>14635261
That the coolant is old, basically. Just flush it m8.

No its your left rear tire pressure too low.
Thoughts on the Citroen ZX? IMO it's one of the comfiest fucking things you can buy for cheap.
Not even hydropneumatic. At least get a Xantia.
>>14635094
The ZX looks so much cooler though, and I think it handles better aswell.
>>14635101
I don't think handling has ever been a priority in Citroens.

Am I the only one who hates when nicely restored cars are turned into hot rods and lowriders?
Get a reproduction body or at least something rusty that needs to be fixed up.
I wish I could shoot these people and get away with it.
old cars are shit in just about every possible way
Im ok with improvement
the only thing that bothers me when people restore old cars is when they stick nigger wheels on them.
>>14633461
Reminder: Converting useless 20s vehicles into hot rods dates back to the 40s, is a youth culture your great grandpa may have participated in and is a more important element of Americana than the original cars.
