>RX-8 makes 232 Horsepower at 16 mpg city, 22 mpg highway
>corvette makes 455 horsepower at 17 mpg city, 29 mpg highway
that's 223 additional horsepower, in a motor thats 4 times the displacement, and it still gets better fuel economy.

So, I was dumb and financed a $900 scooter for $1800 through its dealership/seller place and a few months later a driver ran a stop sign and I had to swerve, ran into a curb and fucked up the front of the scooter to where it was totaled.
I got an attorney and 5 months later I have an offer for $560 from the at-fault party's insurance company for what's left of it. I have $800 left to pay off. Should I just take this and run or try to get more for it? I think its a pretty decent offer actually.
how much would it cost to repair/replace the scooter?
that's how much you should get
How much does the lawyer get?
>>14643369
They go for about $700-800 new
Repair would probably be $400-600
I really just want to pay it off and be done since I bought a car.
What are some good auto-related careers?
I'm trying to decide what to major in. Engineering is beyond my reach, though.
>>14641996
pictures like that one make me sad. this is why old cars are best. when cars were made by men, for men and not faggot nerds.

Agreed.
Anyway, what about drafting and design technology? I'd only need an associate's degree but I'm worried about having limited advancement opportunities.
Go mil you punk.
Any fellow cruiser owners out there done up their ute?
I got a 2012 79 Series Landcruiser just the other day (got 50k on her)
Looking to do her up.My previous one I had done a bit here and there.
Already got a DPU chip in her and am going to get a 4 inch exhaust.
The plan is to lift her and put her on 37 inch tyres.
Just after any recomendation on how high I should go.I was going to go 5 inch lift kit as I live in the NT and often go out in the mud/bush bashing.
I got mates who think 3 inches is enough and I got mates who say fuck it go 5.
Just seeing if...

I'm not into 4WD's but I do occasionally read the 4WD and camper magazines. I'd recommend picking a few of those up, the ideas those guys come up with a properly ingenuous and very creative.
You should be looking at how you want the suspension to perform and what you want it to achieve (payload, travel etc) before you get too preoccupied with overall ride height gain. That said, there's not too much to be gained with the leaf rear end without having dropped mounts fabricated. My advice is to aim for ~2-3" overall by way of springs and extended shackles if need be, ply whatever coils up front and springs to match.

Another question OP, did you get the Workmate or the GXL?
Am I the only person that feels somewhat guilty about modifying a car beyond simple or reversible things like wheels? I get that a car is one's own personal property, but cars can go extinct, especially the bone stock models. Unless I plan to drive it into the ground, I don't want to ruin it for the next guy.
What car would you feel least guilty about modifying?
Any subaru at all.
Every car that I own and will own I plan to be the last owner, so I don't care for the next guy.
If it's completely original, I try to preserve it.
1976 BMW 530i with 176,000 miles in good running condition. Apparently has been garaged its whole life and has only had one owner. Comes with good titles and all that jazz. As far as I can tell from the photos is looks perfect (rust free, etc)
I'm hoping to use it as a daily driver. Non car friends are trying to talk me out of it, but I've heard nothing but good things about BMW m30s. What do you guys think?
Asking price is $4k
>>14640103
Do you have the money to keep up with finding parts for a 40-year old BMW when it needs it.
>>14640103
Do it OP. Life's too short to drive boring cars.
>>14640129
That was supposed to be a question, sorry. But it is an important one: BMW parts are already expensive, and you're going to be having to find shit they stopped making in the 70s or making them yourself.
Is Toyota becoming based again?

>Two concepts and a sports car that they needed Subaru to make for them
Nope. They'll probably be the first car company to lobby for the banning of sports cars and the mandatory implementation of self-driving cars.
Needs the entire front fascia redone, otherwise not horrible for its price
Great sports car that got marginalized by better alternatives (also it's mechanically a Subaru)
We don't know jack shit about the new Poopra.
Two are concepts and one's a Subaru. The answer is no, especially when their econoboxes are also somehow horrible now.
>>14640060
Why would they waste money on sports car concepts if they had no interest in making them?
>first car company banning human driven cars
Nah, that'll be Tesla.
sup /o/ i own a 94 miata 1.8

What are your thoughts and opinions on this car?
It's an Opel Manta A.
Had the opportunity to get one for free from my dads uncle. I thought i would fix it up and sell it for a hefty profit.
(dont have any pics of it yet)
>>14638058
Looks sexy. Fix it up op of you're getting it fo free
Do it. It has dat rallyheritage tax that people will pay some good jewgolds for.
do it, drop in a 280hp manta mk2 engine or a 2 litre one from an SRI.
do not be tempted to put bigger wheels and lower profile tyres on it though or you will never steer the fucker in a 3 point turn.

Guys,
Got a speeding ticket yesterday. Pulled over by a State Trooper.
No big deal.
Then today, a State Trooper drives by my house, then doubles back, and parks on the side of the road 1000ft from my car which is also parked on the side of the road. Sits there for literally 90secs, then drives away.
I can't tell of it was the same officer, but I'm paranoid as FUCK.
What was he doing?
why are you paranoid? what were you doing?

They have decent sleeper potential, seeing as some of them pretty much come with the GTI drivetrain.
Also it doesn't look like an angry blob like everything else nowadays.
Can someone explain why someone would buy one of these? What makes them choose this over a similarly priced "sports" car or even an older model?
