The little spade connector near the starter motor of my car seems to be faulty. Every now and then, round once a week it wouldnt start and i need to open the hood to unplug and plug it back in again, it starts after that.
What's a quick fix to this?
>>14700222
Wire it to a switch on your dash so you can cycle power from the comfort of your cock pit.
Bumppp ples 5chin
>>14700222
its a connection issue, its probably rusty as fuck just sand it
I'm thinking about a new car, would you recommend
>>14700186
Why kind of car do you want?

You looking for a Hatchback type, or more conventional saloon type?
And what sort of budget are we working with here?

Can't wait for the shitstorm of 1 mph tickets being fought in court.
>>14699802
they'd better get them radars calibrated weekly
Moving there in May. Fuck this.
My average speed on the highways of NC has been somewhere around 88-92 mph...I'm not overly concerned. Of course I'm white, so that helps.
Considering tire size directly impacts speedometer calibration, I can't see this lasting very long. (Yes, I know tire wear will actually lower your speed compared to what's indicated, but some manufacturers tires have different sidewall heights for the same indicated size and performance level.)

Hey guys, I'm thinking about buying this 525, but I don't know much about the 2.5 i6, or the E34 in general. What should I look out for/be wary of. Are there major problem areas to check out? All input is appreciated.

>>14699556
its the same as the 2.5 used in e36s, so cooling system. Not sure if that year had vanos.
Honestly you should try to find a 535 or 540. The 535 with manual is probably the strongest most reliable car bmw ever made.
>>14699644
As much as I'd like to, I need a car yesterday and I'm on a real tight budget. I've always liked E30's and E34's, so I'll see if I can find another tonight.
>>14699800

What do you do if it breaks? You have to have plenty money on hand. Shut up and buy a civic.
Any other mighty max's up in this bitch?!?

I have a D50 but I don't drive it.
I live in NYS if I bolt a couch to the bed of my truck and put seatbelts on it would it be legal? If not what else are my options?
>>14699506
Should be legal. I mean they basically allowed it for the Subaru Brat
>>14699522
That's factory equipment though. Big difference to bolting your own shit onto cars.
>>14699545
So long as it had hard-mounted seatbelts, I can't see a problem
I've FCA and Ferrari shares
What about you?
Bought VAG shares in 08, sold em in late March last year. Git gud

Hello 4chinners!
I recently moved to a snowy place and I wanted to find a car that does well in the snow with good mileage.
tell me what to buy
some kind of weird dodge stratus
A car from somewhere else.
Anything not new in that area will have damage from the road salt.
Then buy a second set of wheels and good quality winter tires.
Anything that
>has a limited slip or locking diff
>good snow tires (not all seasons)
>abs and traction control is probably useful for you
Transmission does not matter, drivetrain does not matter
My abs unit shit the bed. how drive without abs?
>>14698651
Turn it off and break with letting it off and on quickly. But thats only if you are breaking hard
>>14698651
Just don't smash the pedal all the way in or you'll lock the wheels and lose control. You have to be careful when you get down to the bottom of the pedal and learn how far is too far.
>>14698651
just dont brake nigger
So I'm talking to a guy about a 1998 540i. 134K miles, carfax is clean, got a PPI done and it says everything is good except:
P0300 - Multiple misfire detected
P0306 - Cylinder 6 misfire
It also says it has a "considerable" oil leaks evident: "definitely valve covers, possible oil pan."
"Heavy power steering fluid leak: P/S pump and pressure lines, possible return lines"
Now, i found a couple of write ups for it and I have tools, shouldn't be too hard of a job.
He says 6k firm. What do I do. After i...

He won't be selling that for more than two grand with those issues.
In a 2010 Lexus RX350?
Apparently in 2010 they switched from the old dvd-swap update method, and it uses a hard drive now. I believe I have the correct software downloaded for it, but I don't know anything about the method which you are meant to install it. I'm seeing information that there might be some sort of "activation key" necessary at some point.
Thanks guys.
Sry must bump. At least for someone to remove hope.
>>14698593
you're gonna want to roll through lexus forums for this type of specific stuff boss
>>14698750
Yeahh I've been googling thoroughly for a while now, nothing really. Plenty of videos/tutorials for older Lexus models, where all you do is swap a DVD hidden under the cargo bay. After 2010 it becomes more confusing. Even if I could just get someone in here to confirm what the update method is exactly. I see "USB" on the official sites, but then I'm seeing information that the USB is just for the activation code or something.
Blah.
Should I get mud flaps or mud guards for my RSX?
>>14698596
Why?
>>14698590
Are you going to be driving in any muddy conditions? If yes, I guess. If no, nah. It'll put some drag on your car.
>>14698590
Get both.
