>tfw moved from Chattanooga to Charleston
>tfw I gave up the beautiful mountains for the beach
>tfw I'll never get to go hooning on the weekends through the crisp appalachian air again
>tfw everything is a flat swamp or forest
>tfw there's no reason to even own a fast car here
car feels thread
>tfw lived in WNC all my life
>driving anywhere else feels weird because there aren't any mountains or turns
>>14828362
>tfw I've lived in florida all my life and have only had one spirited drive through mountains in North Carolina
It'll be okay anon
>live in a beautiful part of Alabama
>hills and winding roads everywhere
>perfect setting for hooning
>it's all residential neighborhoods
I want to purchase a salvage MazdaSpeed3 and swap it's engine, trans, brakes, and a few suspension components into my Mazda5.
Prices for them are pretty cheap for what I want, and the cars are damn near identical, so I figure it shouldn't be too difficult.
What do my br/o/thers think of a micro-van on steroids?

I've seen that. The can-bus is what really threw a wrench in their build. It shouldn't be a problem with the 2012 Mazda5.
>>14828356
How is this car totaled? Doesn't look like any frame damage.
I like this idea OP. My parents have a 2nd gen 5 and i'd love to do it.
>driving down the street
>jamming to my Spice Girls CD
>all of a sudden car feels heavy, slow, steering wheel feels super stiff, hard to move
>a little "VOLTS" & Battery Icon appear on my dashboard
>pull over on side of the road, turn off car
>turn it back on just fine, steering wheel and all feels back to normal
What the hell happened?
>>14828348
Alternator is kill?
What car is it? You most likely have electric steering.
>Spice Girls
>CD
>Volts
Is it 1997 again?
>OP probably didn't service the sperbing bearing in his turbo encabulator.
Ugh, what your unilateral phase detractor reading OP? Give us a cardinal grameter readout so we can tell you whats wrong.
Hey guys I sold a two of my cars and now I'm planing to get a base corvette with the z51 package for 61k.
Putting 20% downpayment and finance the rest for 780 monthly payment for 72 months. I check the Shelby gt350 but ford dealers are putting a 10k markup on them. So the cheapest one is goin to be 68k.
Is the corvette a good choice? It got super car performance
>>14828300
Corvettes are good sports cars, memes aside.
But I'd be awful tempted to wait and see if I could afford the new Grand Sport, if I had new Corvette money right now.
>>14828300
dude you are obviously trying to live beyond your means
considering how a 72 month loan term is twice as long as the average auto loan term
the insurance would cost around the same as the monthly payment
Vettes are fine, ignoring the memes.
But I'd just buy a used CTS-V or C6Z06
Less money and faster
In spirit of, well, y'know.

I just made this quick half-assed render drop. figured i'd share.
OP did you lose to one or something? Why make a dozen of these cancer threads?
>>14828230
Not even OP but I actually like Mustangs and I still find these hilarious because of the sheer amount of retards that legitimately crash Mustangs at car shows trying to show off.
I paid my mechanic in cash for a rack replacement, and apparently he had lost the money and found it again. He wants me to come in tomorrow and give him an empty envelope.
Is there any way he is trying to pull something shady that could affect me? I've been using him for several years and I generally trust him.
>he's actually falling for the old empty envelope
>>14827749
Good ol' tradesman trick... I thought these slime balls had came up with something new by now.
>>14827749
>Asking for an empty envelope
>Falling this hard for such OBVIOUS, blatant trickery
OP you are literally retarded and should have your license pulled.
Ordered pic related and waiting impatiently.
What did you buy for your significant /o/ther recently?

I'll admit I have no fucking idea what I'm doing with them though.
Here are mine, got them about two months ago

They are going under fast bros. I'm gonna miss the V8s. Thanks to fucking Tesla.
the V6 is better
literally who cares other than luddites who cant afford it
Thank fuck, V8s are lazy, sluggish and sound disgusting.
/o/ I really need your help. I drive a 02 Audi TT Quattro. Recently a check engine light came in and I took it to Pep Boys to have the thermostat and housing replaced. After the vehicle was returned there were no codes on the car, nor symptoms of any issues in any system. Two days later while waiting at a light the car dumped all of the coolant and began overheating. I immediately shut the car off and called for a tow. Reasonably assuming it had something to do with the replaced thermostat I sent it back to Pep Boys. They are trying to tell me that the failed part was a water/coolant...

Found the issue
In before some oil changer put coolant in your transmission.
>>14824227
desu you wouldn't have had any troubles if you had fixed it yourself.
ITT: post big, grippy tires
stretched and skinny is stupid
Are P Zeroes a meme? Or are they solid tires for high torque cars? Picking up some murrican muscle soon and wondering if I should get some
>>14824015
Too thick
>>14824015
>implying wider tyres are always better
>implying that less powerful lighter cars need wide tyres for traction
>implying wide tyres on an mx5 wouldn't cause extra drag and therefore be slower
/o/ what is better a jeep tj or a yj. my friend thinks his 4 cylinder yj is better than my 6 cylinder tj. why is he wrong?
CJ
It's my cousin's

I think those jeeps are too clean so you look like faggots. You want mud up to the windows at least.
I am a salesperson/ manager at Advance Auto Parts. Ask me anything.
>>14829192
I'm a salesperson at advance auto too. Mostly a night and weekend thing cause I'm in college. What's your best idiot customer story?
>>14829192
How'd you get the job? Or how do you even get an entry level position?
>>14829192
How are your Duralast brakes? I need cheap new pads but I'm not sure about them based on all the marketing, seems like with their price they can't be all that great. Are they just the cheapest replacement for poorfags or are they actually durable?
>be me, driving to work today
>hit a stretch of windy forest road, hard now to enjoy, I look forward to driving fast through it every day
>BMW in oncoming lane flashes his lights at me
>I slow down a bit, next corner there's a cop speedtrapping.
>he saved me from potentially getting pulled over
Anyone else have tales of people not being complete cunts? Let's get a good feels thread going.
>>14829122
I flash my lights at cars probably for the next mile after I see a cop lying in wait.
>>14829122
Not the same, but it's nice to see someone who drives perfectly on roads.
>gets back in the right lane after passing
>puts turn signals on noticeably before braking
>taps brakes once before turning them on again to get your attention
>drives within their limits, doesn't unnecessarily speed up on straights or slow down in turns
>stays arrow straight...
