So /o/, today i was checking my car because of the check engine light turning on and i got P0401 and P0406 at the same time, its a 2005 v6 mustang, is the EGR valve or could it be something else? The car doesn't seem to use a DPFE sensor like the older models, maybe I'm wrong though. Any advice?
Remove EGR valve, check for carbon buildup inside the valve and right where it bolts on to the intake. Also rent/buy a hand vacuum pump and make sure that applying vacuum actually actuates the valve

Also check the vacuum hose from the solenoid for any cracks. Maybe even pop it off entirely, place a finger on one end, apply vacuum to the other to see if it holds.

That's so cool! I've been happy lately just to see people taking the mountains roads extra fast. I have a nice 6 mile stretch that is mostly 15-25mph turns through the woods. It's great fun when it's clear. Get a lot of kids hitting it hard now that it's nice out.

Cars in general are shrinking market. Everyone wants to sit in the high chair, have a big hatch, and 4WD their way to the mall.
Most normal people don't ever push their cars hard enough to notice the difference between front and rear wheel drive, but give them a crossover with AWD and Sync5 and they're all over it.
Sorry, but we're in the tiny minority.
