/o/ I need some help/advice/guidance
I have a 1981 c10 pickup, all stock. It won't pass emissions on co.
It has a new egr, new quadrant, new plugs/wires/cap/rotor, new catalytic converter, thermostat and fan clutch, etc
In Arizona they use the IM147 test. Measured in grams per mile.
My results are.
HC: 2.40 out of 4.00
CO: 65.66 out of 40.00
NOX: 2.20 out of 5.50
Could it be that I have too much egr? I'm debating plugging it and re testing.
Does ignition timing effect CO levels?
It was set at 0deg when I got the truck and was passing,...

Also what about running with my air filter removed?
I have an old school covered air cleaner with an inlet tube so they wouldn't see it.

Drive until cat at full temp
>>14889290
This. Also put your timing back to 0. Never heard of a vehicle running 0 btdc stock but if it works do that. Try to run some kind of cleaner in the fuel tank before you next inspection to clean up the fuel system a bit.

Also peep this please, its a 2012 Focus for 5600?

120k miles for a 2012 is like 30-40k miles a year? Is that unheard of?
Picking up a 2010 Acura TSX for 10k

Why you have to wait?
Stupid law to import cars to the US. They need to be 20(or 25) years old, cant remember which.
How expensive would it be to build a car that is legal to drive on the road and goes faster than a veyron over a quarter mile? Doesn't have to steer like one, just needs to go in a straight line.
Just looked at the quarter mile time for the veyron, and it's 9.7 seconds. Surely that's easily beatable for not much cash.
Bout tree fiddy.
You could do it for under 10k if you don't give a shit about anything othere than 1/4 brain sorry 1/4 mile racing, Especialy if you use the rather questionable interpritation of road legal that the ACR uses when it comes to rubber.
>10k with a ebay turbod Vortec in something like a foxbody
alot
Why aren't more auto manufacturers doing this?
>>14887976
>Why aren't more auto manufacturers doing this?
Building cars slower than minivans?
I never understood why either. You KNOW the car is going to be a tuning base, so why not for a barebones version?
Although it wasn't intentional, you could get a s13 240 with literally no options. No A/C, no auto trans, roll up windows.
I hate how that version of the FRS is JP only.

does owning a bmw turn you into a dumb asshole or are you already one prior to buying?
I own a BMW, and I can confirm that I became an asshole driver after buying it. E46 325xi. It's not even fast and I'm an asshole.
Both.

All the time I wanted a car, I wanted a mx-5, but recently, I was offered an rx-8. I need help! what car would better as a first car for a youngfag?
Get the rotary blapper, blow it up.in a week, sell it is a project, get shit box mx5.
>>14887756
elaborate
>>14887769
I'm assuming you live in England as you said mx5, so the insurance will be a nightmare on the RX8 and only slightly less so for the Mx5
Basically, if you've got the line on a cheap *running* RX buy that, give it a clean and sell the thing for as much profit as possible. Use the money to buy a decent but cheap mx5 to insure.
>people try to fight the term "no replacement for displacement" with forced induction
>they don't know that forced induction is basically just additional displacement
I'm not certain you understand how forced induction works
>>14887353
define displacement
> people who don't realize that more displacement and forced induction are two ways of pumping more air through an engine
Getaway car ideas?
I'm thinking something that looks generic but powerful under the hood. Maybe a matte black finish (to prevent the cop lights from reflecting) and a custom button that turns off all rear and interior lights even while driving. The headlights can be turned off normally. Also grey rims (black is too identifiable) but not shiny grey
>>14887239
A8.
>>14887239
>Maybe a matte black finish (to prevent the cop lights from reflecting)
Why would you get a stand out color for it. OEM black is fine. Kill switch for the rears works if you're running through the toegay
>Comfy and Sporty together mid-size sedan/estate for daily driving.
>No FWD.
Audi S6, BMW 5 series, or Mercedes E class? I think. All RWD. Maybe include budget and what you're looking to get out of that car.
I love how Audi, literally, just flipped over the air vents from a Golf...
