What does /o/ think of BMW 128i? Was thinking about picking up a used one for $20k or so. I like that they're relatively small, the inline-6 sounds appealing, and the interior is refreshingly basic and driver-focused.
As far as BMW's go, how reliable are these? I'm thinking probably less issues than the turbo 135 at least?
Fun to drive?
>20k
>128i
Youre getting royally fucked. That is 135i with 60k miles territory. Buy the 135i and just make sure the turbos were replaced under warranty if it is one of the bad years.

The one I was looking at had really low miles.
Read this and thought it was interesting that Toyota higher-ups are pushing for a halo car.

Also, does anyone know if the FR-S will become the 86 when it goes under the Toyota brand?
Then they shouldn't have teamed up with Subaru.

Thanks for this.
Does /o/ think Toyota needs a halo car?
>tfw freshly washed and waxed
Feels good.
>>14909389
>tfw wash and wax car last Sunday
>covered in pollen on Monday
>bird shits on it on Tuesday
>It rains on Wednesday, rain spots errwhere.
Women don't care about wax, what we care about is maturity and financial responsibility. Only after you reach the point of maturity and net worth and income that you can easily afford to have "nice wax".
SMART women can sniff-out a wanna be poser that thinks they are the coolest thing in their fancy little waxed racekar that they cannot really afford. No girl wants to live in a trailer park and work at Waffle House and he works the parts counter at vatozone for $12.75 an hour. It speaks highly of the idiot nature of the man and rules him out as a worthy...

Sounds like you need to dump her first and take control of your life.
I'm not one to talk but maybe you can make it br/o/

1: Emissions and fuel economy regulations
and 2: Those transmissions are FAR from practical for everyday use.
>>14909227
The transmission alone is easily 200k, too. So...even with mass production, it'd stay expensive
>>14909219
Only designed to last a race would be the main reason.
Money question. Should I finance a vehicle through a dealer or should I get a small bank loan and try to find a better deal off a private seller?
Keep in mind the dealer has a very limited warrenty.
Faggot.
dealers often give higher interest rates but you are more likely to be approved if you have shitty credit, or non-existent credit.
>>14909195
Try to get something you don't have to finance.
Hey /o/ it's anon again. How are ya?
I was wondering if this Volvo's missing emblem on the steering wheel may be a sign of an airbag deployment. The Autocheck is clean but you never know.

https://www.diigo.com/item/pdf/5gt7b/ij4p?k=2e62bba0ca47135a3b1b2a3b83922927
Seems like the pins that go in on the top right and bottom left broke off too.
>>14909173
No, an airbag is sold as a whole unit. The entire center of that steering wheel would be replaced if an airbag deployed.
>>14909173
Probably just got taken off to look cool or some shit
>>14909344
This, there's actually a split designed into the airbag cover. If it deployed it would be damaged and it would be really obvious if it was repaired.
Where is the cutoff between being able to walk into a dealership and test driving something, and basically being told to fuck off?
Assume you're white, can dress yourself well, and are intelligent enough.
Like, does a Ferrari dealership request some sort of proof that you're loaded before they let you test drive a car? Do they even let people test drive Ferraris?
if you have to ask you are probably going to look so fucking out of place they'll ask you if you're waiting for your daddy
>"I'm white so I can get away with anything XDDD"
not when you're 300lbs and visibly NEET
Your appearance, even race, matters less than you think. Salesmen can usually tell pretty quickly if you have any green to back up your supposed interest.
But, of course, there are also dealerships that don't give a shit about any customer and treat them all like shit until they forcibly show they can buy shit.
>>14909129
I'm asking in general with the assumption that you're a normal, sociable, well-adjusted person.
Making fun of the white comment sounds like you're a jelly nigger, btw.

ones that have actually been there?
probably some skinny german kid from /dbt/ on a 125

10 is a P71
9-2 are Twingos
Number 1 would have been a Twingo also except the P71 T-boned him a few yards away from the finish line because he was mad about getting lapped
The Twingos only differentiated themselves from each other in speed by the formula [(Black Ice trees on the rear mirror)^(/osg/ sticker volume in cubic meters)]
I'm about to buy a second hand car from gumtree, I will meet with the owner in a few days.
Never done this before, any kind of tips you can give in these situations?
>>14908818
If you're asking /o/ for help on this, you're pretty much completely dependent on the integrity of the seller.
At this point, don't be a dumbass and pray.

Read the sticky faggot, it has an entire guide.

Look at the oil on the dipstick. If it's milky brown or has some other fluid mixed in with the oil stay away.
Look at the coolant reservoir and also look for contamination there. Any oil/coolant mixing is a sign of headgasket failure.
Look at the transmission fluid if it's an automatic. Cycle through the gears and then look at the level, check the color (should be pink/clear maybe a little brown if not changed in a while) and make sure it doesn't have a burnt smell. When you drive...

What cool old (affordable) Mercedes do you like?
Sounds about right. 21k would be a great deal.
>What cool old (affordable) Mercedes do you like?
Basically too many to list. Even just affordables.
You can get regular Benzes of the same age for 3k in Germany. Not with that engine but I don't think yer dad will appreciate the motorization anyway.

(maybe) Something you already own?
So I bought a questionably cheap daily driver, so far its running fine but I noticed this earlier today. How fucked am I?
Replace it and it's fine.
is that just a heat shield? if so then not fucked
It really dosen't matter.
But now you know what happens when you jack a car up on the unibody. Use the pinch weld instead.
