Is there such a thing as a hairdresser car? Why do insecure people make up insults for cute tiny cars that can smoke their ricers?
Why do insecure people keep boasting about their miatas and shit being able to smoke anything ? It's gotten to the point where there are people out there that think the.miata is the best sporty car you can get for under three thousand dollars
The original TT is brilliantly designed, and years from now it's going to be a collector's item. I hope your pic is unrelated to your thread, OP.

That's because /o/ is a Miata shill. I don't really like it and I don't get why it's so popular here but I wouldn't say a Miata owner has no dick either.
>>15051807
As much as I like my mk1 TT, it's the stereotype of a hairdresser car.
Help me diagnose my no start that i have been chasing for nearly a whole year now. Purchased a 1981 Datsun 280zx that was not running. The car will not turn over with the AFM attached but if I take the AFM off the car will turn over and idle (roughly). I have tried diagnosing it my self to no luck so far the parts i have replaced
New AFM (O'Reilys 3 seperate units)
New Spark Plugs
Cap & Rotor
Spark Plug Wires
TPS
CHTS
tested a known working ecu and no change
cleaned all the corrosion from the electrical
replaced the AFM boot

Fuel
Air
Spark
Compression
Those are what is needed to start an engine. If you're missing any one of those then it won't start. Have you checked your fuel pump?
>>15051527
checked fuel pressure at the rail and it was getting 35-40 PSI, and also pulled the line before the filter and there was fuel coming out ive also replaced the FPR since the old one smelled like gas
>>15051545
Any possibility that you have some bare wires grounding out? I'm drunk but I'm trying to help.
If I have an opportunity to get one of these things, should I? I remember lusting after them as a child. They're almost like the original TT in that they're kind of an odd design statement.
Nice prelude
LOL enjoy yanking the whole motor to do engine work of any sort. Northstar is a shit engine platform with a shittier configuration
>>15051454
It's a Chevrolet Corvette convertible with a Northstar V8. What's not to like?
>>15051472
Have you seen its sister car, the C6 Corvette? Same drill, different engine. Need to pull the engine to do just about any work.
So many builds where all the mods make you cringe worse than the last one, get in here.

I was kinda ok with it until I saw automatic what the fuck
So I've been looking into getting a Golf GTI, and i was wondering if there is anything that I should look out for when buying used. Also if these cars are expensive to maintain. Any help would be appreciated.
Also general volkswagen thread
They are expensive to maintain. You should look out for the fact that you can get to 75 mph in second gear, so you won't be banging through the gears at speed.
>>15051436
75 is a little bit exaggerated, and why is that a bad thing anyway? It makes traffic easier and if you're planning on tuning the engine it makes your 0-60 a lot quicker.
>>15051436
>>15051459
im honestly stuck between getting a golf gti or a 4runner. I've heard both are pretty reliable
A dealer near me is selling a 1988 Firebird Trans Am GTA for $6K. Only one owner and 91K miles. They said they could take my shitbox for $2K-3K towards payment for this. Problem is that I'm a poorfag and would need to take out a loan for this. I'm also a retard so anything more complex than fluid changes or single part replacements are rocket science to me. 80s Pontiacs are built like shit brick houses, right? Still waiting on VIN results.
Does this seem like a disaster waiting to happen? I really want a car that screams "Tiny dick and no personalty"...

protip: don't
>i'm a poorfag
no shit
>>15051025
I don't think it would be a disaster waiting to happen, but 6k seems really high. I thought firebirds from this era typically ran like 2k to 4k
Bought my '91 GTA last September and I couldn't be happier. It's a five speed and it's incredibly enjoyable to drive.
I'm assuming the '88 that's listed is a 350 / auto? If you say you can't do anything beyond basic fluid changes this might not be the car for you. It's old. It will break and need repairs.
Turdgens aren't really a 'brick shithouse'. They're pretty shitty honestly in build quality.
If you could get it for 5k maybe consider it. Don't park it outside, park it in a garage. Don't...

This. If it's woman owned you can expect the service intervals to have never been paid mind.

My car takes a rather uncommon tire size. Subsequently, none of the more prestigious brands make it. What's better:
>mediocre brand (Kumho) with no warranty
>Chinese brand (Windforce) with 70k mile warranty

what size?
what kumho tires?

Now that Mitsubishi has been sold I guess my dream of ever seeing the Montero Sport make a return is truly at an end. I shed a tear.
The best vehicle I ever owned was the Montero Sport.
>non oem alternator industry literally dying overnight
It probably lasted you so well because the previous owner maintained it well.
Your throwaway attitude is cancer
>>15050036
>making accusations
I keep my Montero in great shape. I constantly clean the interior and shampoo everything, change oil all the time and replace whatever parts need replacing. It's dirty under the hood but I always maintain what needs to be kept new. Also go fuck yourself because I have had this car in my family for 10 years and ours is the 2001 XLS. We have had it much much much longer than the original owner.
Give me one reason the volvo 850 isn't the best line up of cars ever made /o/, go ahead try
>Protip, you can't
Only thing it lacks is an AWD option.
Other than that, it has basically everything:
>clean, simple styling
>available as sedan or wagon
>spacious
>reliable
>affordable
>available with multiple 5cyl engines, with or without boost
>>15049810
This
>>15049810
Trust me. You don't want the AWD version.

is a miata a long term car?
is it practical enough to be an lone term car?
Memes and shitposting aside, it's universally considered the most reliable sports car produced and have no problem running with high mileage.
>>15049555
wow thanks. is an 1998 nb, worth 5k australian?
>>15049568
Honestly I'd need a lot more information but would highly recommend an NB of any used generation. Mileage, condition, etc.
Did you know?
Aqueous sodium silicate can be used to replace your engine oil
A single fill of the solution lasts the life of your engine
Replacing oil with sodium silicate is recommended by the US government to reduce emissions and fuel consumption
Ha
But that's not how it works you cunt
