What is the most unreliable, hard to work on, pain in the ass car?
I want a difficult project that is absolute hell to work on and repair, something that breaks down all the time, and is just as unreliable as possible.
My budget is 80k USD.
Bring it on.

>modern cars are better than old cars
do you agree with him?
>>15157766
In the sense they're more comfortable, fuel efficient while way more powerful, yes.
In terms of everything else no.
>>15157766
Of course they are. Only a delusional dimwit would think an older car is actually better than a newer car.
Yes, you can argue >muh visibility, but when it concerns the rest, modern carsare generally way better.

no
too much tech n shit
and pigfat
For example i'd rather a r34 than r35
What does /o/ think of the 2016 Toyota Tacoma? I'm looking to buy a new pickup and an F150 or Tundra is too big for what I'd use it for
i've never, ever seen a new truck actually used for work, just mall crawling.
very few people absolutely need the slight increase in towing capacity. pretty much any pickup made in the past decade will haul decent amounts of wood, tools, manure, plants, dogs, dead animals, live animals, trailers, etc with no problem.
>>15150614
>very few people absolutely need the slight increase in towing capacity.
It isn't slight, but if you never need to move heavy shit or tow more than a dirtbike, its a great truck. I love how it looks, I love how the new 4runner looks, but I need a truck that can tow shit.
>>15150585
Why do you need a truck?
If you plan to go off road why would you get a new truck to abuse?
Been wondering about this for a while.
My car has a 6 speed manual, 6th doesn't seem to be an "overdrive" in the sense that there isn't a colossal drop in RPM's between 5th and 6th.
1st and 2nd are extremely short, them everything upwards of that is quite linear. I've always driven my car pretty much everywhere in 6th gear, as it still has the ability to accelerate (albeit slowly) from 35mph and above in 6th.
Am I doing it wrong? I pretty much upshift at 2000rpm (muh diesel) and try to keep the RPM as close to 1000 as possible...

everything you described is pretty standard..

1000rpm?
are you retarded?
don't you have any fucking feeling whatsoever about what the cars engine is telling you by the rattling and chugging?
either you're completely and absolutely stupid or you're trolling

Is there any downside to going to bigger brakes? What does "big brakes" mean anything, just wider pads?
I can't imagine the multi-piston calipers doing anything without a master-cylinder upgrade.
Bought a newer civic, and the brakes are atrocious. Haven't replaced fluid yet, but I am pretty sure that won't fix it fully.
>>15160484
I would only think the down side would be getting used to them, and maybe added weight
>>15160484
Put some brembos on it.

>Is there any downside to going to bigger brakes?
Clearance
>What does "big brakes" mean anything, just wider pads?
Larger diameter = more leverage, more surface area = heats slower and cools faster
>I can't imagine the multi-piston calipers doing anything without a master-cylinder upgrade.
You don't necessarily need to upgrade your master cylinder, especially for power brakes, for...

Retarded /k/ommando here.
What can /o/ tell me about first gen (1995-2004) Tacomas? Anybody drive one? Do they have any recurring reliability issues?
Looking for a good 4wd that's not fuckhuge. I'm also interested in the older generations of Toyota trucks but it's hard to find a clean one in Nebrakska.
It's basically a hilux. It'll make a reliable technical. Enjoy your kebabelimination.

This. Strap a DShKA on the back and you're solid.
>>15157561
Theyre known for being really fucking reliable. Great platform for an offroading rig

true?

Your "Buddy" is gay, and wants to fuck you in the ass.

We all know which one looks better.
We all know which one will hold its value.
We all know which one will be remembered in 20 years.
Get the M5 and have your buddy suck your dick while you tell him how cute he is.
Anyone else have an asshole for a driving instructor?
Mine is a real piece of shit but I don't know if it's just him or if it's endemic and normalized throughout the profession.
>cusses out loud to himself every time I make a mistake (i.e. saying 'shitttt' and facepalming), >berates me loudly
>tells me that I drive terrible for a 21 year old and how some 17 year old driver pulled off some maneouver perfectly earlier.
>Stares at me in intense silence...

No my driving instructor was cool and wasn't a dick at all, but then again I didn't drive like a moron.
>>15155127
My driving instructor was actually really awesome, only drove with him a couple times before my driving test, though. He's probably just trying to motivate you to not be shit.
Yeah, don't drive like shit and maybe he won't react like you're shit

The engine in my Outback XT is so quiet at low RPM that it can be difficult to get shifts just right or to creep around with the clutch slipping (say in a parking lot or in reverse). What would be the best way to improve engine noise without making it obnoxiously loud?
Should I work from the intake side or the exhaust side? I want to say intake because it's closer to the driver's seat, but my options there seem to be limited to replacing the stock cold air intake with a shorter intake that sucks hot air. If I work on the exhaust, I'd probably be looking...
