I want a 2008 srt 8 so bad. Never even seen one
My moms Range Rover Sport really dips when you hit the brakes. I know it is heavy and it is weight shift, but man does it suck in traffic getting rocked back and forth like that.
Is there any good driving practices to help keep a car from nose diving under braking? I know to let the weight shift forward easier need gradually apply, but, in this thing it is pretty hard to do.
Stiffer front springs seems like the only thing to do
>>15439032
bad front shocks?
beside the actual weight of the car
>>15439037
I'd hate to mess with that. I can't find anything on the Internet about other people complaining about it in her particular model (Range Rover Sport 2016, pic is the SVR, she just has the v6 one)
>>15439039
Nah it's a new car. Yeah the thing weighs over 5,000-lbs. It's heavy as shit. That's probably the main problem.
>Electric cars are designed to save you money by not spending money on expensive petrol
>Electric cars are REALLY fucking expensive
I mean who the fuck is the target audience for the BMW i8?
>Ah yes we will build a BMW that you can save money on because it's electric!
>Oh wait it's going to cost the same as a fucking super car
the i3 starts from 40k I think. And its not even the cheapest EV
>>15438992
Are you implying that's cheap?
Look at the price of a comparable petrol car.
>>15438996
What about the Nissan leaf?
Hey /o/, I need advice.
I went to a used car dealer to look at an '06 Honda Civic with 145k miles for $4k. I looked at the car a bit and saw some white grime underneath the car which threw me off. The car looked fine otherwise except for some paint damage on the hood. I did a test drive but he didn't let me drive on the highway even though it was right by the dealership.
Anyways, I didn't feel confident about the car or the dealer because he tried to get me to pay for stupid fees and he contradicted himself about financing rates. What should I do...

The guy told me to bring a mechanic (wtf?). So should I call a dealership ahead of time to arrange an inspection with a certified mechanic?
>>15438914
Don't buy a shitbox that old from a dealer. Post your local Craigslist. Can you spend any more than 4k?
Should I buy a 2014 Jetta TDI with 4,000 miles for $16,000? Or should I stay away because of all the diesel cheating shit VW did? I don't see how that would affect me because my state doesn't have emissions testing for diesels, but at the same time I don't want to have to pay a fine or something down the road if that changes.
>>15438734
>Should I buy a 2014 Jetta TDI
stopped reading there.
no
don't buy a VW
ever
>VW
>V
>W
>used VW
>>15438738
Yeah but 700 miles per tank is really really appealing.
What is the cheapest car insurance for someone in high school? All I want is the bare minimum for an 80s/90s coupe. Is $2400 really the best I can get?
Get a miata faggot
/thread
>>15438363
>What is the cheapest car insurance for someone in high school?
Minivan. If you want to buy something in high school with two doors you're gonna get fucked by insurance.
>>15438363
Ford Escort
not bullshitting you
Hey, /v/ here
I'm not much of a car expert but I just wanted to know why some drift cars have big ass wings. Is it a car culture thing or is there an actual purpose?
Also is that diffuser supposed to be on pic related or am I doing it wrong?
downforce dumbass
>>15438319
this, and the vertical surfaces fight to keep the cars pointed straight
At the speeds drift cars go they have to either not bother with aero or go whole-hog with it so they can get the downforce at relatively low speeds.
If nothing else, I'd imagine the aero helps stability.
Do people automatically assume you are a fag if you own a Mustang?
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Are reuseable oil filters worth the price?
>>15438198
>reusable
>oil filter
>>15438204
I don't have one. Just wondering if giving $140 is worth the usual $5-$20 on a shit to good filter.
You can reuse a regular oil filter. Just wash it out and let it dry. I havent changed my oil filter on my car since I got it and it has about 230k miles on it. Runs like a champ.
Confess your sins unto me /auto/
Have you checked your oil this week?
No, it was a quart low Sunday so I'm waiting till Friday to see how much I lose to blowby in a week.
i only work on my car if something breaks
realistically, the car needs an overhaul but i drive it anyway
>>15438045
I saw a modded Miata and I liked it
sportivo corollas,
are they good on low revs? or do you feel nothing?
a sh one will ? idle good or not?
1st for MR2 a best Toyota
In short, it loves to rev and there’s a noticeable jump in power delivery when the VVTL-I seems to kick in at around 6000rpm and other engines are about to give up. It is exhilarating to drive this way, and there’s plenty of frenetic but not unpleasant engine noise as accompaniment.
The downside is the engine feels a bit peaky without a lot of pulling power at lower revs, but the close-ratio gearbox does a good job of keeping everything on the boil. Toyota claims the Sportivo will hit 100km/h in 8.4 seconds and cover 400 metres from standstill in 16.1 sec.
The pizza delivery guy who's been delivering pizzas to us for over 20 years said he would never buy another type of car because they're so reliable. He just bought a new Corolla.
I'm planning on buying an imported car for the first time but I have a big concern over the insurance.
Anyone here with some experience with this? I'm worried on how the financing will turn out but I do know telling the company what engine it has helps them figure out stuff.
I'm in Canada specifically if that helps
I'm kinda worried guys.
>>15437647
Move to New Zealand and you can have all the imports you want. I pay $35 a week for my SR20DET R31 sedan and $43 a week for my RB30E+T R31 wagon which makes 300kw.
>pic related

Hello /o/,
I am about to buy this e34 520 with m20 engine.
What should I look for when inspecting the car?
>>15437430
Bump for interest
>>15437430
Good cars, only issues are weak cooling systems and rust.
Automatic gearboxes will give issues if the fluid isn't changed, but that's really is outside of wear and tear.
Not sure where you are in the world, but some Americans say parts are expensive there. I am in Europe and they are very cheap and everywhere.
>>15437509
I am in Bulgaria.
The car is manual. Driver seat is ragged but everything else looks good on the pictures
