I am of the opinion that, for the most part, modern car design has gone down the fucking shitter. Everything either looks the same, or looks completely ridiculous (pic is a great example of this).
What do you guys think are the best looking cars made in the last five or ten years? I know there are still good designers out there. Lets see em.
Mercedes W204 is a good example, it's an excellent progression from W203. Modern look yet timeless body lines.
Instread of building upon it, they went full retard like Toyota and Lexus with the new pig-fat melting design of CLA and W205.

You know, I'm not much of a Mercedes guy, but you're right, that W204 looks great. I think it'll age really well. I would come in and say the BMW E39, but that's a little too old, and honestly, I think that W204 has a more detailed design.

Toyota went to complete shit design wise. They used to be "ok", but now they are just trash tier.
I only like Mazda's design atm, Fords arent bad aswell, rest is pretty crappy.
Alright /o/, we need a new family bus. Something that'll fit two babby seats and a rather large dog in the back which our current CL9 Accord Euro comes up short (otherwise we'd simply keep driving that).
I've narrowed the potentials down to these pictured with the KJ Jeep as an outside chance, although if the right 3.2 TDi NP, NS or NT Pajero came along at the right price, that'd trump the lot. It has to be a diesel (gas V6s in these models are either too thirsty or don't exist in my market) and her rules are it has to be a manual (which I'm more than happy to oblige).
Admittedly, a mid to large crossover faggotmobile would fit out purpose perfectly as I already have the go to 4x4 in the form of an NL Pajero, but then resale is somewhat of a consideration (higher mileage 4x4s are more sought after than higher mileage faggotmobiles) and the diesel 4x4 wagons I mentioned are better on fuel than even 2-2.5 litre four cylinder lifted shitboxes. I may consider a Series 3 Forrester XT, but that's just about the only acceptable crossover I could think of.
For what it's worth, I'd be doing the wrenching and deleting any of the emissions shit that potentially shortens engine life (no testing here).
Any vehicles I've missed? Any anecdotal horror stories based on my inclusions? In Upside down convict land with a budget of around $15k Ausfaggot bucks. I'd happily rock a station wagon, but options that include a three pedal operated gearbox are limited... Apparently Holden decided the only way into a manual VE-VF sportwagon is going with an SS. Shame, as an SV6 wagon would've fitted the bill nicely.

At times it's hard to anticipate when you will arrive at the meet location, so if you're coming from afar leave a bit early then. We generally stay at the meeting location for an hour,
so that should give you enough time.
Keep checking the threads for updates, especially the last few hours before meeting.
We do roll calls before meeting up so we know who to expect.
Once we are out on the road, the group WILL be divided for many reasons such as traffic, speed, different routes
so make sure you are ready for those things. If some people are really behind, the lead group will usually drive the
speed limit, this should give you enough time to catch up. If you're not comfortable with driving too fast because of
cops or some other reasons, stick to a slower group. There will always be speeders, cruisers and the ones who are both.
Since we have a large crowd now, I think we should arrange the groups before we leave just to be on the safe side.

Another thing I've noticed is, since we tend to hit bump limit really fucking quickly once we get any sort of semblance of momentum in conversation, we tend to quickly forget good or interesting ideas that were posed in the previous thread because "out of sight, out of mind." Someone (and I'll try to do it too) should build the master list of previous threads and comb through them, because I know for a fact we've had at least half a dozen really good ideas that have just never been touched on again because a new thread was made shortly after.
Why don't you buy only German cars?

I drove the GT S and it felt so big for being a small car. It's not much larger than a 911 but feels super heavy and clunky. Like being in a tank more than a sports car. Too many buttons too, fuckin modes and buttons everywhere.

EcoBoost is faster, the BRZ probably looks a little better.
EcoBoost can get a lot faster for less, but BRZs look nicer at the end of a build.

I own a fairly nice sportscar, and I hardly ever drive it. It sits in a garage week after week. I only take it out for shows and meets, where I never hoon it for fear of something breaking. I never park it anywhere but my garage because I'm afraid of door dings and scrapes. I put less than 5k miles on it in a year, and all it seems to do is take up space. Yeah I can show it off, but I feel like that's all it's for. I have more fun in my daily than my sportscar, where I can not give a fuck. It almost feels like my pride and joy...

I end up not driving a lot of my more expensive/new cars because of the reasons you mentioned. I sold my 2014 STI recently because it was just sitting in the garage. I end up having more fun in cheaper cars because I don't really care what happens to them compared to something that cost me $35k+.

i just got a honda CRV in fwd only configuration. this was because it was the only one on the lot and i needed a vehicle that day or else i would be screwed. i digress. what would i need to do to go from fwd to awd? i know there is a crv awd configuration, so i can't imagine it to be too hard. new rear diffy and drive shaft? would i need a new PCM? what kind of stuff would i have to wire in?
