One of these things was on the interstate yesterday. Dodged it, but a car riding too close to my bumper (because what is trailing distance) didn't see it in time and plowed over it. They pulled over, but I could see it was a direct hit; wood splinters were everywhere and they hit it with both right tires.
So, can someone that hits junk like this ask the city to cover repairs, or are they just SoL?
That's what insurance is for, unless it has a company name and Id-able number.
>tfw I hit a bucket head on at 90 and it fucking launched into oncoming traffic, landing perfectly in a pickup.
It would have sucked ass if it was full.
>>15308111
cities usually cover their own negligence like pothole damage, running over city owned construction cones, etc. anything else youre SOL except insurance or if you see whoever drops the hazards you can get dashcam proof/their plate
I hit bricks that Mexicans let fall out of their truck. Litteraly put flat spots into my wheels. Paid for new wheels and tires out of pocket. $2100 day.
What's your local car scene like /o/?
Blasting down the back roads with your friends late into the night, speedy speed boying into the void?
Invite only rooftop meets? Advance Auto parts lots?
Non-existant?
Its pretty lively in the mid Atlantic, but people complain about the scene being dead entirely.
I live in a navy town so my local car scene blows. Just a bunch of dumbass squids trying to pick up underaged girls. Only exception is the air cooled Volkswagens.
>>15308072
I havent been in the scene since 2012. We used to have the Varsity meet in Atlanta but thats gone now. I dont know whats hot here for cars now. Bike meets are big though.

Hey, guys
I've been looking on craigslist and I have found older Porchse Boxsters go ing for 6-10k.
Are used Porchses costly/annoying to maintain? They seem like they have great performance for these prices.
https://sandiego.craigslist.org/esd/cto/5639545988.html
Should I pick one up?
Porsches*.
Sorry guys, fucking auto correct.
If you have to ask if Porsches are annoying and costly to maintain, don't get one. What the fuck.
>>15307875
Its a question. Dont know much about how reliable they are.

You do know your bus is RWD right?
redpill me on these. they seem like the most fuel efficient 4 door on the market. just under 2,000 pounds including the automatic transmission if i'm not mistaken. 3 cyl. engine. I've heard of people getting 50 mpg but even if it can't do that i'd say 44 is guaranteed on the highway.

>redpill me
Wanna know how I can tell you're a faggot?
>>15307642
It's just a middle of the road box.
There's better out there for the money, like a Mazda 2, Honda Fit or Corolla.
I was offered this Thunderbird for ~$100 today. 80k on the odometer, right window is gone. No serious internal weather damage from what I noticed, should I buy it?
Also it's the 3.8 n/a v6, not too quick. And auto.
As someone who's just getting into cars, been lurking the board for a couple of months now, would I be dumb to buy this?
Hell I'd buy it for 100 bucks and resell for at least 500.
>>15307479
Swap an ecoboost engine into it.
>>15307479
i remember this car is gta san andreas
Why is audi so shit?
Just had mine at the local mechanic changing camshaft sensor because the engine just died randomdly, now it's worse than ever and engine stutters above 3k rpm and it's hard to start. 350€ wasted my god. That sensor was hidden away under the belt itself so they had to remove everything just to get to it.
Cant even fucking change sparkplugs myself because everything is so hidden away and hard to reach in these shitcars that u need specialtools for everything.
>>15307420
That what you get for being a pseudo brand whore.
Had you bought a Golf, you would have saved money, and althought it is similarly shit, it's a bit better, and the engine is easier to work on due to the positioning.
Having said that, your mechanic is an idiot. That isn't the cars fault but the mechanics. Look for someone competent.
Where you based at? Maybe I can recommend someone.
I work with vag cars for a living.
>>15307438
well it's my first car, a -00 and i only paid 1600€ for it but now ive kinda fallen inlove with it. But if the placement of everything is so fucking stupid i'll just avoid audi in the future.
Any ideas what could cause the engine to stutter on acceleration? i mean it worked fine before they changed that shit so idk feels like a longshot that it should be the plugs, maybe some airfilter or something idk. I guess if they put the belt on even one clip wrong the engine would act a little weird but...

Lies. No one likes the new Accord. Even the broad being paid to stand next to it can't pretend to like it.
What's the deal in the US with running from the cops, installing radar and laser blockers, obscuring the license plates from cameras, etc, assuming you're in your own vehicle?
In any chase the first thing the cops will do is take note of your license plate, and I'm guessing if they detect a speed laser didn't catch your plate theyd come after you.
>>15307349
They go by the logic that if your running, you have something to hide.
Honestly some people run just because they don't wanna ticket and have to pay for it.
Also laser jammers are legal in all 50 states. Radar jammers on the other hand aren't.
>>15307366
How on earth do you avoid paying a ticket by running? It's not like they don't know your license plate number they know who you are
>>15307849
>speeding down highway at night
>see discolights on the shoulder
>duck off at the next exit while the cop is getting up to speed
>take backroads home
The cop is not always right behind you
Does /o/ like Need for Speed or car games in general?

I need your help asap /o/ friends.
I need to know if a license suspension for failure to pay a ticket will affect me getting onto an employer's insurance, as I will be driving a company vehicle.
I got two tickets in my zx6r and then moved to a new residence and didn't officially change addresses so they got mailed to my old address. I paid them off and it was over 3 years ago.
Your expediency is greatly appreciated.
>Pic unrelated
I also haven't had insurance in 3 years. Will this affect them hiring me? Or affect their insurance?
you're screwed dude.
Those are big red flags that companies try to shy away from
>>15307085
For a failure to pay a ticket? The only license suspensions that really matter are for moving violations or DUIs.
I'm posting this as a follow up from >>15288703

How do you like paramedic work? I'm a senior in uni and thinking about getting my paramedic cert before I apply to med school. Looking to do my residency in emergency medicine anyway so I figure it's probably worth it to learn the ins and outs of pre-hospital care.
>>15307321
I do not recommend paramedic work without having another plan in mind, now having said that, I highly recommend it, its perfect for medical students. The type of work you do will vary on your local jurisdiction (where I work, you need to be certified fire fighter to handle the 911 calls, the people who aren't dual certified either work for a private ambulance that does the bullshit inter facility transfers or you go work for an emergency room). Even if you end up doing inter facility, I still recommend doing...
