i'm saving to buy my first car but havent found anthing recent i like; Modern car design just dosent do it it for me, its boing, to simplified, overly steamlined, and lacking in charector.
does.
Even though i care a lot about how the car looks function is just as important.
Does antone feel me here?
Can someone derect me tworwards some more old fashiod vehicles that still work well as a everyday car?
If its lowley priced that would be even better but id feel fortunate to get even one recomendation that fits my cryteria.

Oh and apolgies for the typos, tiny phone with tiny keys + no spell check = lots of typos.
are there any good aftermarket blind spot assistance solutions?
I hurt my neck and back and it's a bitch to always turn, and my mirrors don't show the total blind spot. I know a lot of new cars have some systems built in but my car doesn't have it.
Howd you hurt you neck and back?
Where does it hurt?
How much mobility do you have?
How about keeping the roads safer by not being on them.

Hey /o/, sorry if you get this a lot, but I was wondering if you guys could help me out with some advice.
I can't really afford college, so I'll be enlisting in the US Army as a wheeled vehicle/Abrams tank mechanic to learn knowledge of the trade and what-not. I plan on getting a job as some kind of mechanic after my contract is up, and if any of you work in a mechanic shop or anything related, if you could answer a few questions for me I would be grateful.

Regardless, retiring from the army means you have the pension, the ability to shop at the PX, but importantly, you have that free medical care. In the future america, services like that are going to rocket up to very high values as the medical system figures out how to game Obamacare.
Hello, Anon. Welcome to our wonderful service department! Would us to rotate your tires today? Maybe some blinker fluid? Or change your winter air in tires to summer air? Just let me know, our prices are on that big board on the wall.
Anyway, service advisor here, ask me anything.

Hey all,
First-time car buyer, medium-poor graduate student here. I'm considering buying a 1998 Jaguar XJ8 I found used on craigslist for $1,800 and I'm looking for any opinions or advice you guys might have.
The car is a XJ8 Vanden Plas with about 89k miles on it, most of which seem to be highway miles. According to the seller, the car has had only two previous owners -- the original purchaser was an elderly man who mostly used the vehicle to drive between his home in Colorado and his summer home in Florida, and the second owner (and current seller)...

I know that this model occasionally has problems with the timing chain tensioners cracking, so I intend to check those out and see how they're holding up. It seems like replacing them is a bit of a project (and probably costs around $250, assuming I can borrow the tools from a friend). But, I'm relatively confident in my abilities and I imagine I could manage to do so myself over a weekend, should I be unlucky enough to have them deteriorate.
Is this a good buy? I live across the street from my uni and rarely drive -- I only need the car to occasionally drive...

The other day I walked into a Ford dealership and test drove a Roush stage 1 mustang. Basically just an ecoboost with a body kit and exhaust. After I made some comments about how it needed more power the salesman told me about the 670hp RS3, and then I test drove that. Ton of fun, revved at stoplights, ripped a skid on a turn, and got up to 120mph on the highway. When the test drive ended I just told him it wasn't what I was looking for and left. Ton of fun for no cost whatsoever, and he let me drive how I wanted because he thought I was actually gonna buy a car with 14...

Hey fampais,
Question for your honda guys,
What do you guys think of Integra Type R's are they worth the money? I'm really tempted to purchase one.

Although this one seems highly modified (my semi concern) it looks like it would be blast to drive. my only concern is I know that supercharger kit is no longer made, so if something breaks I may be sol, any other things I should consider? any pros and cons

Why did all early cars have running boards and detached fenders and headlights and a body in the shape of a box
>>15308164
They still had that "horseless carriage" mindset.
>>15308175
There were lots of carriages that weren't just shaped like a box and carriages don't have running boards. Those traits are specific to early automobiles
>>15308164
Running boards to keep mud out the windows, and detached fenders because that's how they gave them crash protection.
They didn't have paved roads back then. Rutted dirt tracks, horse shit EVERYWHERE.
Hey /o/,
Is there any reason I should not trade in my 2016 Jag F-type R for a slightly used Aston Martin Rapide? I need more space but want something with a little more character than an M6 or AMG car.

Was the F-Type really that bad thay you want to get rid of it so fast? Or do you get bored with pretty much any car within a year or two?
>>15308186
It's not a bad car at all, in fact I love it. Most fun car I've ever driven and I've driven quite a few high end and exotics. I just need something bigger...my one complaint with it is it's badly packaged. Huge blind spots (unfortunately pretty common these days), poor trunk space (though better than the convertible), and most relevant for me only 2 seats. Obviously I knew these things going in but I recently bought a dog and though he is still a puppy he's too big to lay in the front seat!
