Carry on, I'm just standing here.

Hahaha congratulations, anon!

Why thank you kind sir, I would have posted VINs but you helped me out in the last thread. I was the one looking at the C5 Corvette. Also, how is your truck? Any issues?
Starting a thread to discuss a snow filled meet in Washington this winter.
>No plans have been made yet
>testing the waters to see if we want some snow touge
>in the mountain backroads?
>abandoned parking lot?
>your backyard?
>pitch ideas and set a date
>there will be a kik thread for more in depth discussion as meet date nears
Can we finally do the damn Mt Rainier run yet or has snow scared all of you off?
>>13811967
The kik group has always been around. No one's suggested it.

But I don't want to join the kik group and expose myself as an ex-Washingtonian who wants to enjoy his homeland by proxy through you guys. Wait...fuck.
This is a thread for older cars that could have a long life ahead of them, if properly looked after.
I just picked up a 1986 Toyota Tercel. It's only been owned by my grandfather, and used as a commuter vehicle in a small city it's entire life.
Only 127 000 KM's (78 914 miles) on the odometer, everything stock, aside from maintenance work that's been done over the years. Very little rust, everything works.
Old Toyotas are known to last forever, I plan on using this car as a project car and a city driver.
What would be some...

Looks like you've already taken care of the usual stuff. Just stay on top of it and change the usual fluids, timing belts and whatnot and it'll run for nearly forever.
I've got a 98 and a 99. 99 I bought over a year ago with almost 260 on it, 310k now and I got myself a second one a few months ago, 98 110k and no rust. I hoon the fuck out of the older to me one, some minor offroading etc, and beat it down gravel roads. It's in better shape then most with only minor rust spots. Fucking love these things man. Also, if you have the 13" tires it'll beast in winter. Also, I'd change your trans fluid too. Mine are both manual and I got some good redline mt90 for em(manual calls for 75w90).

What are your red flags or deal breakers when buying a used vehicle?
>pic related
>not enough information: no picture, mileage, year, transmission
>call me for information / come see it for yourself!!
>it just needs _____, which is included, don't feel like fixing it
>smog is buyer responsibility
>no test drives
>firm
and not always, but generally
>salvage
I feel like I'm missing some, but that's all I could...

>>13811575
you can find s12 nissans for just as cheap. they're rwd.
whats better of the two i don't know.. but the s12 atleast you can swap in ca18 engines pretty easy.
but really it's probably best to just buy an s13 unless you car that looks like an ae86 without the takumi tax
otherwise for cheap car, get a civic.
>>13811593
what the fuck are you talking about
s13-15 are fucking expensive as hell
It's grey!
Mostly...
>want car
>have spending money
>have good credit
>don't want a new car
>don't know what car to buy

you're my only hope in finding advice on buying a 4-wheeled moving vehicle
buy a civic , a certified pre-owned 2010 model one will do the job

and shut the fuck up

i want a miata tho :)
So I'm biased against Mitsubishi cars because >chrysler, but this board always talk about the 3000GT like it's good.
There's one sitting at a pawn shop in town with a $2,500 sign in the window. Are these things fast? Are they fun? Is the engine gonna explode the second I get home with it? The one they have is a popup model and it's been there for a few months
Not that i know anything about the 3000gt but if i was concerned about an engine exploding i wouldn't buy a car for 2500 especially from a pawn shop
>>13810977
The only thing I know about them is you could get like 1000hp out of the on the original Gran Turismo.
>>13810977
Non VR-4 / R/T twin turbos are slow. Yes, even the DOHC versions. Not saying they're not fun or baller looking, but if you want speed and performance the vr-4 is the only one worth looking at, but is quite the car with a 5 second zero to sixty and awd/all wheel steering.
They're not inherently unreliable, but they are mechanically complex, difficult to work on because of a transverse twin turbo v6, and parts are expensive.
I doubt the pawn shop one is a VR-4 but if it is I would grab it for that...

Also what about the 5 cylinder engines?
Volvo bricks stronk.
5 cylinder engines are sex.
id avoid the s40
Avoid the s50, same platform as a focus, which makes for a shitty volvo.
