It was never dead, it was still a creator putting his vision on the screen. It might have been retarded, poorly thought out and motivated in part or mostly by his own greed but it was still his vision.

The best part is that it would have died with him. MAYBE Lucas could have groomed his daughter or someone else to take over after him but by and large it would have died and maybe gone public domain. At the very worst we would have seen ever more horrible movies until the franchise was shit and forgotten to time.

As it stands not only will it never go public domain it will be part of a never ending cycle of death and renewal. We will get to see the Franchise become a complete laughingstock, a textbook case of everything wrong with Hollywood only to get a remake of SW Episode 1 and see the whole thing start over again. We'll get to see the thing we loved get dragged through the mud by incompetent, greedy, selfish director after ego driven director again and again and again before we die of old age.

This is the future of Star Wars and it's the future of Marvel and it's the future of anything without an expiration date. It's just one more PoS in an endless stream of shit coming out of hollywoods ass and it's not special anymore.

I thought the movie was pretty decent, that being said, there were still some things that pissed me off about the movie:

Gender Dominance- This was one of my biggest pet peeves about this movie, and this isn't the only movie that does this. If you want to make a strong female lead character, I'm fine with that, but in this movie Rey was just too much of a bitch! She pissed me off so much. All she did was boss Fin around and make him look like a dumbass, and you could obviously tell rey's characteristics was there to appeal to the feminists. Again, I have nothing against a strong female character, but when ever movie does it, it gets annoying! I know in the past it was always the man depicted as the strong lead character and they want to mix it up now, but instead of mixing it up, its just flipped and stayed like that. You could argue Leia was the same, and I don't know much about 70's and 80's movies, but I pretty sure Leia's character was one of few (or fewer) characters then. I understand rey was a scavenger and probably needed to be ruthless to stay alive, but does every female character now a days need to be bully the other male characters?

Storm Troopers- they always been a joke, and in the first scene of this movie I thought they were going to be an actual threat, but of course, as the movie dragged on, they just became a joke again. They still miss all their shots, (let me correct that, they hit their targets unless its a main character, then they cant seem to be accurate)

lightsaber using - I remember back when luke had to train to use a lightsaber, or anakin or those "younglings". Finn and Rey seem to not need this training as they pick up the lightsaber and mow down stormtroopers. Rey even took down a sith (which you could tell he was trained, and I forgot his name) the first time using it. what happened to training to use a lightsaber? Now it's just a weapon like any old blaster.

To add on from above,

light saver dueling - aside from what i said above. the light saber dueling was honestly pretty lame. Maybe JJ abrams thought the ones in the prequels were too over the top, but from what I've heard, most people like the dueling from the prequels, and say that that was the only good thing from the prequels. I'm not sure. The dueling was just slow and dull to me.

Thank you for reading this, just my opinions and thoughts, I'd still give this movie a 6/10 rating. Worth checking out, but it has it's flaws.

And as for special effects (or is it affects?) they were good. Some of it was actual puppets things (cant remember the name of it) some was cgi, but neither looked bad.

Forgot to mention above about the storm troopers missing a lot, well, I just can't get out of my head the scene where finn and ray were running IN THE OPEN to get to a vehicle because the ti-fighters were attacking, and a ti fighter starting firing at them and MISSED EVERY SHOT. There wasn't even a rock in the area that could have blocked the pilots view of them, they were WIDE OPEN and ti fighter hit everything around them but them. That just pissed me off. I know they can't die since they're the main characters and all so make it a little believable. Make them run behind cover or something. Sorry just had to get that off my tongue.

Let's be honest, Stormtroopers, redshirts and Bondgoons will always miss their shots unless they hit a limb for dramatic effect.

It's no surprise, but I'm a bit glad that some of them actually were entertaining in their scenes like the traitor one, the one where Kylo throws a hissy fit#2 and Daniel Craig cameo.

Eh, I'll give you half of that. If you remember femtrooper Phasma, she turned into a joke bobba fett character that's literally bold and brashed in her last scene. Finn's probably the weaker protagonists, and his pilot bro was more memorable.

Ren fought with a stick so I assumed she can hold her own in saber duels if not amateurish compared to Kylo. Finn just used it as a sword and lost it a couple of times, so his handling was more realistic in terms of inexperience. Any idiot can hold and activate a weapon, but only the faster& wiser can survive defending himself with it.

I do agree though that the movie had a lot of flaws, and some pacing issues. I had as much fun with it as GOTG, which is easier if you're not much for the source materials or a diehard SW fan.

If all you needed to learn to lightsaber duel was to close your eyes, say "the force" then click your heels together three times, no one would have needed the jedi academy.

Also, why does that storm trooper have a weapon capable of stopping a lightsaber? Is he secretly planning on stoping emo-vader?

And why did emo vader look so odd? Like nothing at all like his mother or father.
