Annnnnnnnd...

It's shit like this that pushes people to socialism and communism.
>>
>>8786
What, money?
Or anonymous posts on image boards?
>>
>>8787
Hearing about an oil company which doles out hundreds of thousands of dollars like it's nothing
>>
>>8794
Explain to me how that's a problem that would make you a socialist.
>>
>>8796
I'm not saying turning socialist is a legitimate response (I'm not denying it either), I'm just pointing out the fact that news articles like these point out (or exaggerate) the inequality in our society.
>>
>>8800
>point out (or exaggerate) the inequality in our society.
An article about an employer allowing his employees to partake of the profits they helped him earn points out or even exaggerates the inequality in our society?

Sure, he's a billionaire and his employees are not rich. But that's beside the point, isn't it? If you were ignorant to the existence of billionaires prior to this article then there is no helping you.
>>
>>8803
99.9% of people don't receive 100,000$ bonuses.
>>
>>8817
So?
99.9% of all people aren't billionaires either.
>>
>>8822
They don't get reminders of it in the news
>>
>>8826
So when people are talking about millionaires that goes completely over their heads.
When people mention guys earning lots of money they are essentially deaf.
But when somebody says something about somebody who isn't a millionaire getting a big bonus, then that's suddenly enough to remind them of everything that is wrong with the world?
>>
>>8829
uh, yeah
let me rephrase it
You DO get reminders of it on the news, which is what pushes people to believe society's is too unequal.
>>
>>8834
Shut the fuck up

this thread is bad and you should feel bad

Small loan of 100,000$

>Big oil pretending they're not fucked
>>

I disagree, though I am a socialist. I feel this is the lone example of capitalism "working..." and think it would embolden the arguments of conservatives (in their eyes) Though the guy is a freakin billionaire so 100M is really only 1/10th of a billion ect.
>>
Cool, good on them. Lots more corps could give out big bonuses and still profit plenty but they don't because they are evil.

>It's only ok when the government does it

Are you saying people are actually resentful of Hilbert and its employees for this? Because that certainly wasn't my first response. My first thought was "how hard would it be to switch careers just so I can work for this company?"
>>

*Hilcorp

Wow, so nice. I wish more execs were this generous. This gives those employees a chance to invest that extra money and join the ranks of the wealthy.
>>
>>8887
Have I implied it's okay when the government does it?

good for you

Have you never heard of Defcon? In short terms, Defcon 5 means peace, and Defcon 1 is absolute chaos.

What does that have to do with the shape of the world?

The fuck is this shit?
>>
>>9042
Have you ever heard of bonuses? When your employer gives you one of those, that doesn't mean it's the end of the world.
>>
>>9005
>implying that won't blow it on hookers and blackjack
Still, a really nice gesture. What the fuck is a billionaire even going to use all that money for besides influencing politicians to protect his money.

It's his affiliate ID, so Fox pays him a couple cents every time one of us clicks on his link.

Profit-share companies are cool, I worked for one for a while where every year 10% of company profit was equally divided between every employee which usually was about a thousand dollars.
>>
>>8786
Lol Wut, what do you think all those people are gonna do with that money

Fucking spend it and buy dank shit

That's the definition of capitalism
>>
>>9142
So if all of /news/ clicks his link, what does he get?
A dollar?

Yeah, and capitalism is shit.

Germany has a equal or superior quality of life for most people than the US despite its socialist-ness.

If Germany was the same size of the US, its overall financials would be far superior. (relatively speaking, the world would be vastly different with such a huge socialist state)

Capitalism and "freedums" are just too easy to abuse. Regulation is NEEDED.
>>
>>9384
>Regulation is NEEDED
Regulation by who? Couldn't the people in charge of regulation abuse their position just as much, if not more since they practically have total control?
>>
>>9042
You completely misunderstood.
Fucking completely man.

Seriously, right over your head
>>
tbh a good chunk of this bonus is being directly donated to the state and federal government in the form of taxes
>>
>>8794
>appreciating your workers is a bad thing
>>
>>9384
And Communism isn't?
>>
10000?

This is the way businesses should operate. The goal should be to maximize the happiness of its employees. Making money should only be a means to that end.
