>The Highland Township teen charged in the crash that led to a Keego Harbor bicyclist’s death will spend 179 days in jail and two years on probation, an Oakland County Circuit judge ruled Wednesday.

>“Her lack of memory, denial, continuing her social media party persona, and refusal to admit guilt, makes it immeasurably more difficult and painful for us. Perhaps being in jail will provide Savannah with an opportunity to change her life and her attitude.”

How can we ruin her life, anon?

>179 days for ending a life
>>
>>41688
Its really strange how these people think, the judges I mean.
Not even sure if they understand themselves that ending a life is something to be taken serious. 179 days in jail is like something you would get for grand theft auto.

Women get lighter sentences all the time.

b-but cis male p-privelege

it's called white privilege

the kid that killed 5 people and didn't get a day in jail suffered from the same condition
>>
>>41700
I've been thinking about this a lot lately, and I think the reasoning is that there's two parts to the prison system: there's the punitive aspect, but also the reform aspect. And if you want someone to be able to get on the right path again & learn to be a proper member of society, that goes with shorter prison sentences but longer counselling etc. It's a balance of sorts

What is depriving a person's freedom for a death they caused accidentally going to achieve?

She was under the influence and under drugs. Not only did she show no remorse, but continued to party during this whole case timeline.

This isn't a case of sex bias.
It's a case of the legal system wanting to cut costs.

>However, due to a plea deal previously reached, Circuit Judge James Alexander sentenced Iams on a single charge of a moving violation causing death to 180 days in jail with credit for one day served and two years probation. Iams in March pleaded no contest to her charge.

>Iams’s probation also will entail paying court, victim’s rights and state fees; participation in substance abuse treatment programs; a requirement that she be employed while on probation; drug and alcohol testing twice a week and more.

She pleads guilty, less time spent on the legal process. She pays the governments bills.
In exchange they give her a reduced sentence.

Not that hard to understand.
The government controls the law and the government is more interested in maintaining the bottom line than maintaining law and order.
What's new.

If you want to ruin anyones life, ruin the judge.
Going after a murderer is only stroking your emotions.
It doesn't solve any problems.

>>41721
No he was just rich as all fucking hell with his mom & dad powdering his ass to pull a insanity & medical insanity charge, which worked & that's why his ass isn't in jail, has nothing to do with color of skin tumblrtard
>>
>>41731
>a death they caused accidentally
She drove under the influence. That is a choice.
>>
>>41744
>She pleads guilty

She pled no contest, which means that even legally she's taken no responsibility for actions. That's pretty inexcusable to me -- I can handle the light sentence by comparison.
>>
>>41745
This is true, the judge is to blame in the majority of cases for a mistrial of justice but they never get the blame for it.

They are the weak link in our justice system.

Are you seriously defending someone being let off for murdering a person? Would you be fine with the same happening to someone you loved? No, you wouldn't.

She killed another person.

She chose to drive drunk. She may have a mistake, but I doubt the risks posed in driving under the influence is unknown to her.

It's a guilty verdict still, you're just not contesting the charge

You can't legislate happiness.

If having fun after being convicted of a crime, or even while undergoing investigation or trial, was illegal in any way then those convicted of whimsy should be forced to take a shot of mega-depressants in the arm that will last for a few months.

We should also give these to convicts who find God in prison.
>>
>>42017
You are a moron, she caused a death because she drove under influence and she continued to do drugs and drinking afterwards.

A plea of no contest is for those who do not want it on the record that they admit wrongdoing. This is used in cases where the defendant wants to take a plea bargain but be able to maintain innocence (innocent people often get sent to prison with this plea because of the risk and expense of trials), or where the perpetrator feels ethically justified or is protesting the law.

She's refusing to admit guilt. She drove drunk and killed someone -- it's undisputed fact, and yet she doesn't have to even confess to it to get her bargain.
>>
This is how to write letters to the judge, this is a flyer that the family put up. Let the judge know that you are concerned with how light of a sentence she is receiving. https://scontent-lga3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/13082706_1695796203994782_8788959861805255031_n.jpg?oh=19ea27da1ea45b59cd4442f600ef4cfe&oe=57E63747
>>
She smiled in a mugshot where she killed someone. She's a psycho, throw her in jail for life.
>>
Maybe someone should run her over. The judge too.
>>
The judge is not to blame in this hearing:

"Alexander said while his hands were tied because of the plea deal that was reached, he worries for Iams and for those she could hurt in the future if she isn’t careful.

'You destroyed a life, a family,' said Alexander. “I just don’t think you care.

'You don’t get it ... and I’m worried.'

The one at fault is the Prosecuting Attorney/Officer who allowed this girl to have a plea bargain. Once the bargain is made the judge has no control over the outcome.
>>
The Judge is not to blame in this situation, it's the prosecuting attorney/officer who decided to give her a plea bargain in the first place. Once the bargain is made, outside of the court, the Judge has no control over the outcome. In this case the Judge was just a paper pusher.

"[Judge] Alexander said while his hands were tied because of the plea deal that was reached, he worries for Iams and for those she could hurt in the future if she isn’t careful.

'You destroyed a life, a family,' said Alexander. 'I just don’t think you care.'

'You don’t get it ... and I’m worried.' "

you smile after systematically destroying people´s self image online via cyberbullying so i dont see a lot of difference between her and you, except she did a thing by accident you plan on bullying daily until you see a livestreamed suicide.
Actually if a person like her would kill say 50% of 4chan users in a mass murder this´d be a better country to live in.

Why not try to find the Judge's Facebook or Linkedin page and post your protests there, where his friends, families, fellow judges and political supporters will see.

Shame him in front of the people who matter.g

Yea, you're right.

He even said himself he thought the sentence was too lenient. I wonder why he also said that "his hands were tied" in the same interview.

The state does make more off of her if she isn't imprisoned. That M.A.D.D shit is expensive not to mention all that rehab shit she has to pay for. The girl is gonna pay fines of well over 10k, not to mention the family suing her for over 50k in damages. Hopefully she has to sell her car to pay for it all.

From what I've researched, she's the one when it comes to prosecutions from the county that Savannah Iams is from. It's possible that she had an assistant PA make the deal on this case as Oakland County is currently undergoing a massive influx of cases they have to review by their summer deadline. But even so, she's the one who hired the assistant PA, so she'd still be the one to blame for this plea bargain.
>>
>due to a plea deal previously reached
Only few Anons reached the third paragraph.

>>42467
The system is fucked. Of course they end up doing shitty deals like that, in both ways (innocents and murderers end up staying a few month in jail) because money and time.
I don't think doxing whoever signed the deal without reading it (or hired the signing hand) will do much.
Someone find out how to appeal the thing ([someone] has to call the federal or supreme court, something like that) and who's this [someone].
(And please don't harass guys who can't do shit about it while leaving this [someone] alone.)

Then, good luck with Trump, he's not going to make the justice system more Euro-socialist.
>>
>>42325
>murdered...in cold blood
You clearly don't know what any of the above words mean.
>>
>>42461
The state should not worry about money when it comes to justice.

Money won't bring back the dead.

That bitch needs life in prison.
