https://www.thestar.com/news/canada/2016/03/24/liberals-cap-number-of-private-sponsors-for-canadas-syrian-refugee-program.html

After public consolation and a vote in the house the Liberal government has placed a cap on all private refugees and stopped the public sponsorship program. I'm no Trudeau fan but i'm impressed with his latest moves which include the based new child tax credit to increase dropping fertility rates in the ~85% majority ethnic european population. They've created an entire department focused on the issue of lack of fertility among natural born residents.

gonna need some citations on this, would be glad to hear it but my own understanding is that his crop of brand new canadians (who generally have a far higher birthrate anyway) will be just as eligible for the child benefit.

as is tradition

Jesus, $245m for something that will have zero benefit for the people. None.
This stuff feels unprecedented in human history.

it's absolutely insane. helping refugees is hard to argue against, but I don't think it said anywhere in his platform they were going to permanently resettle them and fast track them to citizenship.
>>
>>33945
Trudeaus been handling the issue extremely well.
I'm skeptical of him, but he's showing his worth in appealing to both sides.

As usual, Canada trumps the US
>>
>>33946
that seems worryingly high

>>34180
245m is fuck all in the scheme of things.

>helping refugees is hard to argue against

Of course.
We, as members of a wealthy and established nation, hold the burden and the responsibility to spread our wealth and peace to the rest of the world so that the people of Earth can live as equal to eachother as possible. It's just expected of us.

Doesn't mean we have to pull the population of a struggling country fron that country and toss them around the world in an attempt to make them more equal. This always seemed idiotic to me. Why not aid the country they call home and help build a nation of peace and stability there, instead of literally extracting it's most valuable resource: people.

the drop in fertility is actually by design, and it's a fairly decent thing. I'm assuming you're canadian by the star post.

one of the reasons we enjoy such a high quality of life is that people in developed countries arent trying to feed families of 5 to 10 kids anymore. this is due largely to education of women, and the availability of birth control and family planning. this is great from a quality of life perspective, but our social systems typically require a consistently growing population, with increasing tax revenues, to pay for all the goodies we typically enjoy and, again, which keep our quality of life so enviably high.

although immigrants may move to canada with larger families, it only takes a generation for their children to adjust to this and, themselves, only begin having one or two kids apiece.

so: small families mean high quality of life. high quality of life means smaller birthrates. smaller birthrates mean need for immigration.

its a pretty neat system.

because despite all the talk, people in the west want to see arabs getting killed for tribal vengeance. trying to actually improve their countries is seen as wasteful, despite the opposite actually being true.
>>
>>34201
>literally the white man's burden
>>
>>34203
The only ones who can stop Arab tribal vengeance is themselves.

all that arrogance

That's rich. It would be hilarious if it weren't so depressing.
How many times are we destabilized the Middle East again ? What makes you think we won't do it again ?
>>

>we
I donno, ahmed. What would keep you from doing it again?
>>
>>34201
Jesus Christ how many fucking complexes do you have.

you don't get that much, it just means you can earn an additional 1283 without getting taxed

>Why not aid the country they call home
Why not aid the country we call home and aid those that need our help instead of worthless refugees on the other side of the planet?

Because those people are liberals

Suffice to say, a stable population requires its fertility rate to be 2.3 childern, to account for replacement levels, and death/infertility/other.

Currently in Canada that is 1.6, even lower in other Western countries, and dropping.

The baby boom, is subsequently going to be followed by a baby bust, which can and WILL reek havoc with the economy at best, and crash it into the Worlds deepest depression ever seen, at worst.

For the tdlr of it; Baby boomers are sitting in the vast occupancy of jobs right now, all of them within the same age bracket, all planning to retire within a few short years of each other.

A diploma can only go so far... Experience is what's needed, so all those computer factory manufacturers, medical specialists, and much more are going to find holes they can't competently* fill.

This, combined with the heavy increase of debt from mass use of social security, and the decreased demand for goods(cause no people), will cause less demand, less efficiency and lower paying entry jobs with student debt.

All of this coming down on an already shaky economy that never really* recovered.

But hey, Keynesian economics and overpopulation myths, what did they expect?

Did his weed flash stop and he made this law before going full 420 again? If yes, then Trudeau is actually pretty based when he's not stoned.
>>
>>34201
This man is right.

>>34239
This person is a faggot.
Source: experience :^)

the mass retirement of boomers would actually make it easier to get a job, since the labor pool decreases substantially

>We, as members of a wealthy and established nation, hold the burden and the responsibility to spread our wealth and peace to the rest of the world
what the fuck

if you really feel as though that's your obligation then please donate all your money to these filthy 'refugees', i would rather they all drown. i have no obligation to those animals.

>>34311
And after we come out of the crash we (First world countries) will experience an economic surge that would make post WWII look like nothing.

The Japs are banking on this, hence why they're not taking in any migrants/refugees. The "Upper Crust" of the West however wants to avert the crash until after they're in the grave.

Thanks, mod. But when has
>spread our wealth and peace to the rest of the world so that the people of Earth can live as equal to eachother as possible
ever actually worked out?
Attempting to do so presumes that you
1. know how to help them
2. have the means to help them
3. know what's better for other people than they know themselves
The only time I can think of is Japan, and that was after forcing them to adopt a new government and abandon their military; not exactly just sending "aid".
Africa is littered with the products of us "spreading our wealth and peace" for the last six decades: disease, starvation, warlords and tribal genocide.
It is arrogant. It's also naïve.

you're a colossal faggot
