>'Bleeding host' under investigation by SL Catholic diocese
http://kutv.com/news/local/bleeding-host-under-investigation-by-sl-catholic-diocese

It probably is a fungus which turns it red and causes that whiteish part. Not the first time it happens: http://www.startribune.com/blood-red-host-is-no-miracle-lab-tests-show/135632408/
However there have also been other confirmed bleeding host miracles before where they determined it was real blood.

So what is your opinion, /news/? Do you believe it was a miracle? Do you believe in any miracles?

As a catholic, I would just wait for the lab tests. A miracle should be proclaimed when all reasonable explanations have failed and a sound motivation for it to happen has been found

This seems to be a case where even the Church was being skeptical. The lab result saying it was a fungus seems much more believable and Occam's razor definitely favors that over something outside of how things normally work.
If not a fungus, it could be a reaction we haven't dealt with before.

>This seems to be a case where even the Church was being skeptical
The Church puts every single miracle or apparition claim under the strictest scrutiny, since it would be extremely detrimental to accept a fact as a miracle only to get it debunked later
>>
Would a fungus not be a decent enough miracle though?

Fuck science, trying to disprove miracles. Fuck all those Fedora tippers. People like that is why God doesn't talk to us anymore.

Such as? Also, there is no point of determining if this host really contains blood, or is merely a fungus. People are still investigating, and if the Church was taking this case under strict scrutiny, it would take months, if not years, to reveal the results of their investigation.

They would have to take multiple samples of the host to various separate, independent researchers without informing them the origin of the source they are requested to examine, and have their cases verified by other researchers with their reports fully available to the scientific community.

Photos, video, proof of the sample actually being delivered to the researchers, documentation, evidence of methods used, the names of the researchers and their credentials and just almost everything else would be requested from skeptics. All we are able to do is speculate.

oh come on, it's the current year, actually, almost the next year, there are far more important things like gay rights and social studies, get with the times

>As we understand it, a boy was given communion by a local priest. A relative told the priest the child had not yet made his first communion -- or wasn't Catholic -- and handed back the host, a wafer the faithful believe becomes the body and blood of Jesus Christ during consecration in Mass.

>The priest put the host in water, and later noticed dramatic change.

Definitely a miracle. What, do you think mold would just somehow grow on bread floating in a glass of water at room temperature?
>>
>>2881
Yeah, fuck science, we'd be much better off without modern medicine or technology.

>ISIS terrorizing and murdering tons of people
>global warming
>WW3 looming on the horizon
>all the poverty and suffering across the world
>A bleeding bread wafer is the divine miracle we get

T-th-thanks God!

>omnipotent God
>can't achieve miracles that look like something more than fungus
Sort of an underachiever, isn't he?
If he reads about his past achievements in the bible, won't he get really depressed and feel like he's past his prime?
>>
>>3075
That would be some quality banter

>miracle?
Why would it? Paying my bills is a damned miracle.

I had some keks, thanks man

God doesn't talk to us anymore because he feels bad about that time he killed nearly every living thing on earth. Don't you rear your holy texts?
>>
>>4496
If he feels bad about it, shouldn't he at least have the decency to say sorry?
>>

That's what Jesus was.

Well thank god he stopped
