Oil industry anon here. ND rig count last year was close to 200 until that thanksgiving 2014, now we are in the 80's. People here are cautiously optimistic, but the general sentiment from people that have been around it their whole life say its going to get much worse with Iran's oil going to market and Russia/ Saudi Arabia not slowing down at all. Some old timers here are saying 25-30 dollars a barrel next year. When the layoffs started they had the police at Halliburton and Schlumberger to keep the peace. Can't imagine the hit we'd take if oil was that cheap.

Cut your losses with oil. US NG for international export will still be a viable investment until Iran gets a pipeline up through what is now IS Group territory.

It always gets me when someone starts talking about how green energy is the shit and how much better off we'd be if we were "green"
There is nowhere near enough green energy to meet demand for power and there won't be for a long time. I'm actually not against green energy I'm just a realist in that its going to be a long time before we aren't dependant oil. Fracking is a good thing because it makes us money, and provides the energy we consume.
A little bit off topic but keep in mind its always the guy with a decedent, top of the line shower with 12 nozzles tell I g you to use less water.
