>recumbents are too low, they said
I want a recumbent bike but they are too expensive. The nonexistent used market doesn't help either.
HEY, PULL OVER!

FTFY
Recumbent bikes are the province of the elderly and the infirm. Real cyclists ride a normal bike.

Tfw get testicular pain in my groin on occasion while riding.
I'm not actually sitting on my balls.

Cyclists have been shown to get nerve damage in their bits but whether or not it leads to long term ED is still debatable.
Another one bites the dust

Well that's all right then.

Except recumbents are faster than "normal" bikes. To even come close to the aero advantage of a basic recumbent bike you need to hunch over into the world's most uncomfortable position.

>too low
No pic, but I passed a recumbent hand-bike yesterday, and yeah, it was scary low.
Meanwhile , the real reason nobody rides recumbents is they don't want to shell out 2-3k for something they might not even like.

Most cyclists are men over 40.
We're the Viagra crowd to begin with.
Does anyone know to what degree the aero disadvantage of a trike offsets the aero advantage of a recumbent?
>>965182
No, but I'll add that even without aerodynamics trikes are a lot less efficient.
>>965194
A tadpole only has one extra wheel and it is not driven. I doubt they are much less efficient than a regular recumbent bike. A trike with two wheels on the back, yes, I am sure they are awful.
>>965211
I speak only from experience with the tadpole variety

A working dick don't matter for much when you're still not getting laid, recumbitch..
I live in the Netherlands so the steepest climb I can possibly make is 110 meters with an average gradient of 4.2%
Bought a 2nd hand recumbent for 350 euros and thus far it has been ideal

Interesting...
What size wheel on the back?

Don't delude yourself, my man.
Recumbents are ugly.
I've considered maybe getting a recumbent, but when i've looked around i haven't seen any that have inspired feelings of "i wants it".
I've seen some nice looking tadpole trikes, but what's the point of one of those when the aero gains of recumbent are neutralized by additional surface area sideways.
