Yeah it's called bikeforums.

isn't this sheldon? i still don't get the circlejerk about him, just because he wrote down numbers he seems to be a god
>>
>>963192
He popularized the idea that you can be a serious cyclist without being a racer

In my opinion, Sheldon and his bros were so into cycling that they took their decades of respective experience and organized/categorized it in a relatively easy to use website.

I mean, who knows today that you can restore a high end 10spd and sqeeze more gearing out if it by using a Suguno or Regina narrow 6 or 7-spd freewheel paired with a Shimano Dura Ace 8-spd chain, along with swapping the cup spacers on the rear hub and redish the wheel? Fucking no body.

They guy wasn't in The Tour and he didn't have the build to do so. His thing was always touring whether it be on that crazy 72 spd bike he made, a recumbent or the faggoty trike in OP's pic. Sheldon REALLY liked bikes and everything about them and wanted to share it with anyone who wanted to visit his website. Best of all, his knowledge about bikes was/is very useful and easy to follow.

What does the fr mean? Does it mean fred? Why not just call it freddit?

You're not wrong though, I went to the URL you posted and the first thread is a guy saying he rode 60 miles, someone asked how long it took. He said 6 hours and used headwind as an excuse. His picture shows a very high end aero race bike. The other guy said he'd be impressed at 60 miles in 6 hours even with a tailwind. On a fucking high end race bike.
6 FUCKING HOURS
60 FUCKING MILES
HIGH END FUCKING ROAD BIKE
IMPRESSIVE WITH FUCKING TAILWIND
These guys are more fred than I thought possible to exist.
What the actual fuck.

>>What does the fr mean? Does it mean fred? Why not just call it freddit?

the fr is for france
either op is french or making a pithy joke

>>963200
>or the faggoty trike in OP's pic
He needed that because the MS destroyed his body :(
>>
>>963242
Also if you read the thread the 6 hours was for an IMPERIAL century

the average speed on the ride is just over 27 km/h
>>
>>963246
No, he said 60 miles.
>>
>>963246
Nevermind you're right he's just being retarded and unclear
But still, on a road bike, 6 hours for 100 miles is shit. On a steel bike that's good. But on a carbon racer, fucking WEAK

You're a fucking spastic. It clearly says 158.3 km in 5 hrs 49 mins. Thats an average of 27.2 km/h for 6 hours, a perfectly respectable pace for a recreational/enthusiast SOLO rider on a nice road bike, especially since a lot of it was through the inner city.

You really made yourself look good by making shit up and bagging someone out anonymously on the internet, retard. Everyone thinks you're a big shot now.

welcome to 4chan where everyone rides an average about 35km/h on a hi-ten steel roadbike

>>963341
This guy gets it
>>963596
Yeah obviously unless it's to commute. A recreational ride under 100 miles is casual as fuck (unless it's a rest day or busy day or or crosstraining day or HIIT day or whatever). Then again rest days ARE casual as fuck so ignore I even said rest days as an exception. If you take rest days, you are a shitter.

Sheldon is, as far as i know, the root of a lot of misinformation about bike seats. The worst bit being that tilting your saddle slightly back will help to put you on your sit bones. This is not true and the best way to reduce pressure on your perineum is to have a slight forward tilt.
>>
>>963341
>hi-ten steel roadbike
You mean a rigid 90s mountain bike
>>
>>963646
He was riding a Brooks and that's where his advice applies.

With slicks, don't forget the slicks.

I like bald tires like gatorskins because they have fuckmazing traction on cement and easy to skin on when i need it

Hi /v/
>>
>>963646
The best way to reduce pressure on your perineum is to buy a proper saddle that's designed with human anatomy in mind.
>>
>>963886
they're all age 50+. that's surprising.
>>
>>964188
You'd be surprised how many interest forums are dominated by 50+yo men.
Especially once they retire, they have all day to work on and talk about specific hobbies endlessly. They're like neets, but refined with age like a fine wine, and still smell like cheese.
>>
>>964348
My grandpa doesn't smell like cheese.
>>
>>963820
It doesn't apply anywhere because it is factually incorrect.

I would rather put a little more pressure on my wrists than have a non working penis.
>>
>>964603
No it's not. Its advice that applies to curved saddles, and the point is to get the part under your sitbones level. On some saddles, this is nose up.
>>
>>964605
Pressure mapping shows differently.
>>
>>964610
Pressure mapping doesn't show tendency to slide forward because the saddle is nose down. You are a shitty sample size of one
>>
>>964612
Look it up if you don't believe me. Or don't, i don't give a shit.
>>
what is a fred
>>
>>964615
That pressure mapping means shit if you keep sliding onto the nose of the saddle. The pressure mapping is going to show a completely different story then. You simply don't get it, but you think you're right because you're an idiot.
