Plasti-dip is a spray on material like paint but rubber based
can remove it by peeling the edge without any harm to the surface under neath
-------------
how does /n/ feel about coating their frames in plasti-dip?
muh gramz
I'm a dirty casual and i still feel like this about plastidip >>960299
>>960293
Never thought about using it on a bike frame. I might try this on my scraggly mtb. Shit is haggard
>>960372
I think the idea is to do it beforehand
>>960361
It doesn't weigh all that much, some race cars use it as a base coat before applying sponsor decals
>>960402
See it a lot on road rally cars
>>960402
man man man,are you fucking purposefully being thick or what?
You're like a person I know spewing out technical terms and acting like your typical know-it-al faggot with no practical experience and d9oing dumb shit like comparing cars and bicycles.
>Great White(cracked his trip myself kek,its"Trustno1"maybe without the cap T though )
Knowledgeable to some extent, huge opinionated dick though.Shitposting galore
>Awesome Funposter
Condescending patronizing cranky know it all,but at least he knew his shit properly, very active.
>Nikolas
"dumb chankid ur n00b cry cry fred fred blabla white people r evil"
>(You)
Dumb nigger
>>960293
That's the stupidest idea I've heard out of /n/ yet.
>>960407
Great white doesn't even post here anymore
Is this a good way to winterize your frame?
>>960433
It's not as waterproof as you think
>>960407
>dumb shit like comparing cars and bicycles.
Sigh.
Are you racing?
>yes
alright, every gram matters, but you should run your bike unpainted, then.
>no
what's going to weight plastidip on a whole frame? 50g? 100g? It doesn't fucking matter, you're not racing, the weight difference will be so minimal that you will literally shed more weight by putting thinner socks on.

this is a full coating, more than a normal coating as well, and it comes in at 1.8 pounds or 816 grams. Take your guess at what a single coat on a couple of tubes would weight, but I'm guess it's in the 50g range.

The dip your car Audi a4 was 3 colors
Purple, black then red.
You only need 1 color on your bike...
No, plastidip is retarded because it rubs and peels off easily. It's only strong against impacts and chipping. It works on cars because people are anal about people touching cars. The part of the toptube that touches your thigh when stopped is going to wear through pretty quickly and start peeling. You should all feel bad for replying to a bait thread.
>>960455
4 coats top tube 2 coats rest of bike?
>>960455
What if you finished the contact points with more abrasion resistant paint?
>>960427
He posts on /o/ under the name 'Heartbreaker'. His talents are much better applied there.
I like the idea but I ride mostly steel frames and I'm concerned the material might be porous.
>>960683
>His talents are much better applied there.
Just like another namefag
I should probably do it
>>960726
It's not a rust inhibitor or a surface protection product. As is if it will knock paint then the damage will still knick paint it's basically just a non slip colored surface
So of you treat it like that you'll be fine
