when is a fork not a fork?
>>957856
That's an older cannondale hype thing
Circa 06?? That shit was the bike to have
>>957862
It's still on all their high end bikes. Check the website.
>>957873
I'm aware, I saw a 29er lefty in store the other day
Difference is they're not "cool" anymore
>>957910
Did they ever make sense? They look horrendous. I'd understand it for XC races where a lefty would save a lot of weight
How come lefty fork make sense on mountain bikes but not on road bikes?

>a lefty would save a lot of weight
As far as I can remember they're a bit heavier than the lightest offerings from RS/Fox/DT Swiss but are stiffer torsionally.
I never really understood why people freak out abut them. I think they look cool.
>>957946
They're just so counter-intuitive. You look at it and can't really fathom how that could be a good idea. Of course technically speaking it works great, but it just looks... off.
>>957917
Probably because they don't with rim brakes. C-dale makes a lefty road bike now.
>>957856
That bike is a 2014...
>>958211
A gravel bike with slicks. Makes no sense to me.
>>958213
Jan Heine (second in the Pantheon) mentioned doing a long radonneur gravel ride with his compass fatties which IIRC are slick.
It depends on the gravel I guess but doesn't tyre width/volume matter more than tread?
>>958249
>>Is that suspension or what? It looks weird.
30mm travel lefty fork.
>>958212
Still better than my 2010 transition blindside or my 06 Santa Cruz bullit
>>958258
It's absolutely doable, no problem. But i always feel the lack of traction when i end up on gravel on my 40 mm street treads.
>>958260
Don't be a dick. He was clearly speaking about gravel riding.
Tfw cute girl on my fly bys in strava
Tfw she has a much faster average speed and weekly distance than me
Beta as fuck

>Did they ever make sense?
sold A LOT of bikes, saved cannondale from fringe of bankruotcy in an era where kona was dominating the market
i never bought into it but i saw everyone in my upper middleclass suburb ride them when i lived with my parents

They're actually really good forks. Try riding one before hating
>>957854

Yes. You should not be using knobbies on gravel. You should be using semislicks.
