Arguably, yes. However, what else would differentiate this one from what you would expect to find at a bus stop?

It's entirely made out of fucking stainless.

Bingo, lol.
Neither a map.
And not even ANY notice of what bus #'s — if any — actually stop here.

But, heeeey, who needs that when the stop itself is so FABULOUS, right?

That quite fabulous, actually.

Compare to: russian bus stop. (Yes, local administration is "opening" it in the picture. And, no, there is nothing else to it — the concrete plate IS the bus stop.)

Normally outside first-world countries there are not schedule information in the bus stop. Even they dont have web sites or phone number to contact them to know more.
Plp just learn by talking each other and viewing the bus's windows the information about bus's schedule.
In this country, only when the bus is offering +80km travels, normally they have information office and pone to call for know more. Only some big companies have websites and online ticket purchase.
>>
>>946634
The problem is, Turkmenistan is post-soviet, and, thus, inherited soviet public transportation system that most definitely has bus numbers and schedules.
And from the craftsmanship of that thing you can tell there was no shortage of funding — they just never bothered to include parts that will make it practical.

I never understood why so many Seattle bus shelters are facing backwards. Does anywhere else do this? What's it for?
>>
>>946626
Dude you get a bench?!

Our is just a sign.
>>
>>946758

I've heard of places requesting authorities to build their bus shelters backwards due to strong winds constantly blowing in that direction in that specific place. Don't know if that's the case in Seattle, but it's something that's done.

There's no glass in the front leaving the waiting passengers exposed to the elements. It's a really poor design.
>>
>>946626
You at least have a schedule and map. Putting the bench in an area that turns to mud during rainstorms is retarded though.
>>
>>946758
Place yourself in one of them after heavy snow or rainfall and you'll understand. Placing them backwards prevents cars from spraying you with water and from snowploughs dragging in snow from the street.

Actually, I'm pretty sure that if high-tech was not the very first sector of economy to consistently fail in dictatorships we would have already seen some sort of enhanced-reality anti-utopia (in N Korea or Turkmenistan or somewhere along these lines).
>>
>>946763
>>946783
It may also just be that the layout of the sidewalk result in the backwards-facing shelter being the best option. Had the shelter been on the far side of the street and facing the sidewalk, it likely would have at least partially obstructed the sidewalk due to the retainingwall limiting how far back it could have been placed.

This reminds me, might these have been bus shelters? When it was opened the Bay Bridge had vehicle traffic going both ways on the upper level. Problem is the upper roadway is a good eight stories above ground level at this point, and it doesn't seem like the structures would have housed passenger elevators. But I have no idea what else they could be for.

It's mostly a Nordic thing. They don't socialize with people they don't know. They go for quality over quantity. So they want some personal space and let other people have the same resulting in what's going on in that pic.
