big, heavy chain with a big, heavy padlock. i'm talking about industrial 7/8 or larger big 'ol fuck-you steel chain and a padlock the side of your fist. simply seeing that acts as a deterrent to most bike thieves. they're not even going to try if it looks like it isn't worth the effort.

i know that, jesus Christ. but still. two in one day... I had one last week too. and one three weeks before that. not so overdramatic now is it?

is it worth it to bring a patchkit and pump on the road with you? Im not sure I would be able to repair a tire since I struggle with it already at home.

Last summer I had do a 10km walk of shame back to my house
>>

Yes, you should carry a patchkit and/or spare tube and a small pump when you ride, and you should absolutely get someone to show you how to repair a flat, that's an essential skill to have.
>>
>>938605
stop wasting your money on patches and tubes. Get some thorn resistant tubes, put some slime in there, and then use the liners with good tires. Also stop riding off road.
>>
>>938619
people are usually decent enough if they see someone needing help with a flat.
>>
>>938627
what are liners?
>>
>>938630
the little plastic liners, probably the dr. sludge tape you meantioned earlier

>try to help and end up like a fool when I cant seem to figure out the new pump
>put their tires back together and ride about a mile
>stop and figure out the pump because I hate feeling like an idiot
>debate on turning around and going back to help
>decide not to
>decide I will stop helping people with their flats though.

ah, yes--- these cause a puncture unless you sand the ends and tape over them a lot with silver tape

I'm never letting a fat fuck borrow my bike again

Lol, I threw a chain Sunday, went over the handlebars into a ditch full of muddy water.
My phone got soaked, plus I was wet in 50deg weather 25 miles from home.
