big, heavy chain with a big, heavy padlock. i'm talking about industrial 7/8 or larger big 'ol fuck-you steel chain and a padlock the side of your fist. simply seeing that acts as a deterrent to most bike thieves. they're not even going to try if it looks like it isn't worth the effort.

is it worth it to bring a patchkit and pump on the road with you? Im not sure I would be able to repair a tire since I struggle with it already at home.

Lol, I threw a chain Sunday, went over the handlebars into a ditch full of muddy water.
My phone got soaked, plus I was wet in 50deg weather 25 miles from home.
