Hey /n/, super newfag here. I need your help. I'm moving away for university soon and I'd like a good bike for commuting since I can't have my car at school. I recently came into a little extra cash and I was wondering what a good commuting bike would be for under 1k? Thanks guys.

You're a bit vague. Help us out here.
>What terrain will you be riding on?
>What kind of weather will you be up against?
>Do you care about speed or comfort?
>Will you be carrying any cargo?

I'll be in Boston, so mostly sunny weather with the occasional seasonal rain and snow. it'll be city terrain. I care mostly about comfort but speed would be great. and yeah, ill be carrying a backpack and a gym bag.

anything nicer than a walmart bike will probably get stolen at a college
some drunk frat bro will sit there and fuck with your shit thinking it's funny
so you'll want a piece of shit
this is why most people just learn how to long board in college, since you can ride them fast, easily (even if you can't skate) and slide it under your twin bed in the dorm room
