Another one?
>>932630
other is autosaging famiglia
>>932633
Oh, I see.
>>932625
Is that Brooks bar tape?
The end of your front brake cable looks a little long. I like to cut it shorter, right about where the pad is.
>>932637
yea it is
and yea i feel you. i;ve changed since that picture was taken, it's a lot flusher now
>>932639
Ever get any flats on those Schwalbes?
>>932641
nope, never. had this pair for about a year now (I ride 12 miles 5 times a week at least) and still running strong., no issues whatsoever. switched over from gatorskins and never looked back, would really recommend. these are the marathons which are bulletproof enough, i can't imagine how invincible the marathon plus must be
>>932641
*that front Schwalbe.
>>932644
they're both the same
>>932625
Peugeot/10 but I want your bag.
>>932630
Is it a trick of the photo or is your rear left brake pad really out of alignment? It looks like it's canted forward/down by like 45°
>>932633
Worth to keep it 100%
>>932689
>It looks like it's canted forward/down by like 45°
That's just the way it looks on the photo. I think it's the little fin thing the Shimano brakes have underneath the brake arms that makes it look that way.
>>932690
I see it now, yeah.
>>932625
>>932693
>Mixte
>XT
>Brake levers
what the actual fuck is that thing.
>>932697
it's a girlfriend bike :)
The brake levers are actually pretty awesome once you get used to them. I didn't want to use the XT derailer, but it was the only way to get it to clear a 36 tooth rear sprocket (there are a ton of hills where we live)
10 speed indexed dura-ace downtube shifters are the shit though.
>>932625
Posting my craptastic thing again. Since this pic was taken, I swapped the front derailleur and shifters, from Acera, to XT. The only recent pics I got are even shittier than this one.
This mystery Peugeot is back to being my go-to bike, it's perfect for my current commute across town.
>>932695
New picture I think? It's a great photo. How are you Jon?
>>932703
Doesn't look craptastic at all, would ride.
>>932736
What frame is that? Looks like an awesome bike for a strong rider.
>>932625
>>932699
>girlfriend bike
Wow, you must really have an abusive relationship. Downtube shifter. That's domestic violence if there ever was.
>>932760

>>932750
I broke the down tube on this 29er dirt jumping like a Retard so now I'm stuck with an old 26" single speed xc hardtail and a soma privateer cx bike that I'm using as a road bike. Pic related is looking across at the peak I was standing on right above the M
I love this bike
>>932749
>Looks like an awesome bike for a strong rider.
what do you mean by that?
(its a GT rave)
>>932633
>autosaging famiglia
what?
>>932852
why the fuck do you people use the term "autosage"?
BUMP LIMIT! IT'S A BUMP LIMIT.
>>932862
Sage posts without bumping, once a thread reaches the bump limit you can post without bumping, thus it is essentially automatically saging.
I bought this bike used but it had a major design flaw. There was extreme brake shudder with the original cantilevers. The fork would oscillate violently.
I read up on the problem, and mini-v's were a solution. So I sprung for some $20 Tektros. They were basically nonfunctional garbage. They required more cable pull than standard levers, even though they were marketed as mini-v's.
Then I met Paul of Paul Components at a bike show, and explained the problem. He verified personally to me that his brakes are designed for standard pull levers. Setting them up was a breeze, and they work like a dream.
Next is wiring up the dynamo and fixing the cable routing job.
>>932703
this looks actually quite like fun.
>>932736
super hot.
>>932693
kinda cool. thought it might be a gf bike; sure enough…
>>932703
looks like a solid, fun ride. those white and pink parts are ugly, though.
>>932736
nice ride, nice look (although I personally hate the shape of those crank spiders but overall clean looking bike)
>>932865
nice. that brake position and absence of hoods would bother me, personally. cool bike, though.
>>932872

>MKS Lambdas
>brofist
>>932863
What don't you like the brooks saddle? Just curious
>>932903
Not him, but it screams of try-hard, insecure hipster. So do the shifters. Nice bike other than that though.
>>932915
>comfortable saddles are "try hard"
go ahead ram an axehead up your unlubricated rectum if it makes you feel more... whatever the opposite of hipster is
some people actually ride and appreciate nice things
>>932693
> that drop
> that backsweep
>>932915
but it's comfortable to me, so I ride it. I tried a Cambium and it didn't work for me. I've tried a lot of saddles
>>932915
Most of us are trying hard with our bicycles. You're in a PYBT. Maintenance, repair, training. I am proud to try hard.
As for being insecure, being a name-caller on 4chab might be more associated with that particular trait than owning a nice leather saddle.
>*tips cycling cap*
>>932920
she took it out in the mountains yesterday and did a 1000' descent without any issues, and said it was comfortable, so that's good enough for me.
The bars are nitto north road, flipped upside down. I like it because riding by the levers is nice and upright, but riding in the 'hooks' is somewhat aggressive (not quite like drop bars though)
I'm not sure if your comment was meant as a positive or a negative.
>>932701
This bike used to be guaranteed replies. How about you take an updated pic?
>>932962
>that crank tho
>>932962
That is one ugly bike.
New whip.
>>932693
how do you adjust indexing on a rd with no barrel adjuster and downtube shifters?
>>932987
Not him, but it's possible to do it manually (you just need lots and lots of patience) without any barrel adjusters (and then you have to do it again if the shifting ever comes out of adjustment, lol) .
But I think it's more likely that shifter is just being used in friction mode. Friction shifting with a cassette, chain, and derailer designed for indexing is smoooooooth.
>>932988
thats true in my experience for a 7 or 8 speed drivetrain but 9, 10, 11 the spacing is too close and you don't get that positive engagement 'thunk' when you hit a gear
JUST picked this up!! Everything is campy record expect rear derailleur is veloce. so stoked!!
>>932701
What saddle is this? Where can I get one like this that's not too expensive?
I used to have a charge scoop but I sold it with my bike (big mistake) and I can't find them for sale anywhere anymore. The spoon has disgusting stitching.
>>932993
Well not everything is campy record, brakes, brake levers, headset are, but pretty much everything is campagnolo barring pedals+ tires. But for $340 I ain't complaining
>>932999
>charge saddles
lol, I have one that I was going to throw away. people like these things?
here is my bike with me on it
>>932983
interesting paintjob. what's the make on that frame?
>>933007
90s era Breezer Lightning. Great bike. Here's one in Mountainbike guise.
>>933004
Junk.
>>932881
They're actually white and red, shit camera, but yeah, i went too far with the color cordination meme. Besides, who the fuck puts white grips on a MTB. Waiting to find some crabbon stem/handlebars on sale, and they're going.
>>932785
was that the one which was posted mid-build with a 1km steerer? Looks quite alright
>>932962
Does that thing really have trektrektrektrek cranks and RD?
Looks somewhat "odd", but I still like all that white.
>>932993
That saddle looks to be either super comfortable, or a literal pain in the ass.
I'd angle the bars upwards a bit, otherwise, looks good. Put some miles into it and tell us how it rides.
>>932992
>>932988
Soma guy here. I haven't had to cross that bridge yet, but she's got a multitool in her kit. Right now it shifts perfectly. I realize that the cable will stretch, and it will need adjustment.
If you shift into the smallest cog, and then re-set the tension from there, it shifts perfectly.
I would like to add a barrel adjuster in the future. I didn't realize that the XT mech didn't have an adjuster when we bought it.
>>932992
The Dura-Ace 10sp shifters don't have a friction mode like my older 600 DT shifters do. Indexed only. I wish they had a friction mode, so that when it does eventually go out of adjustment (probably far into a long ride) you could just switch to friction. Right now, we're going to just have to deal with manually re-tightening the cable. Not ideal, but not the end of the world (yet)
I love 1980s Fujis and 2010s SCOTTS
Always post with no replys but I love this bike.
>>933079

>>933098
Aww thanks bb. Yeah they are Nittos. Super comfy while giving you that drop feel. Gonna take her from Phoenix to Tucson in september
>>933102
It handles like a dream and it's pretty light considering it's butted steel. Made by Panasonic for Schwinn in 1974.
This one is going to be flipped.
>>933111
Nice trips, I ride steel too and love it. Steel bikes seem so timeless like you can just upgrade some components, repaint the frame and you're good to go for the next 15 years.
If i post my bike will people shit on more if i have my Flat or Bullhorn bars?
>>933122
Fuck the haters let's see what you got
>>933122
Bullhorns are actually cool though. Nobody shits on bullhorns.

Not him but I really liked my Schwalbe tire until it got punctured by a nail, I only had it 5 weeks before it was completely fucked.
>>933198

>>933103
ha thanks. i havent posted it in months though
>>932625
Why did you replace the TRPs?
My new peoject. Stoked it's my size and better tubing (ishwata ) need to find a downtube shifter mount
>>933542
Please get black bar tape for it
>>933543
I already have black. Waiting to out on
My Francesco Moser i got for 175 euros last year, about to paint it fresh, change all the wiring, got some sounds coming out from bottom bracket, guess I will fix it while taking the bike apart, biggest problem with the bike is the hub body, it often skips tooth inside the body resulting in a empty spin on the pedals until it catches the teeth again, hope you understand what i'm saying. Is it possible to fix it cheaply or better just order some new shimano 7 speed cassette hub body? Also the rear derraileur is not going to the smallest cog and is bent a bit I think, is there some alternatives on 7 speed rear derraileurs with short cage? Besides those little problems, the ride is very enjoyable.
>>933240
It looks odd but it's very comfortable - exactly the same as shifting from drops, just rotated 90 degrees.
>>933397
The bracket is a Magnic Light mount
>>933542
Not mine, but see pic for some inspiration. Love the decals on old Treks.
>>933574
Your problems could be solved very quickly by a decent bike shop - it sounds like your derailer hanger is bent, and the cheapest solution to your hub problem would be to transplant a freehub body from an old hub (instead of ordering a new part, which would also work).
>>933576
Where could I purchase decals at like that? I'm missing my doentube one
Winter beater Bobcat Bianchi which was a frame pulled off a garbage pile and then fixed up with parts laying around. Paid $5 for replacement Bottom bracket bearings.

>>933732

great color. hope the tubing on that frame is worth the upgrades.
>>933741
It's exactly that. Why is it called a death stem? Does it slip? The tubing is reynolds 531
>>933760
It fatigues and suddenly snaps without any warning other than invisible, microscopic cracks that your eyes can't see.
>>933741
And it is weinmann not ava of that makes a difference
>>933770
It seems all I can find is AVA warnings. Mostly due to the metallurgy being off with the cast alu. I've got the whole bike apart so I will check and keep the warning in mind. Thank you kind anon
>>933772
ya, I've only heard that term in reference to AVA, so probably it's OK. It looks exactly like it but obv the metal itself is the issue.
the seat already looks to be a Brooks, and well broken-in, too. why replace?
really nice bike, great condition.

>>933819
I like the blue. How do you like straight bars?
>>933543
I think pedals would be more important.
>>933829
Before having this fixie i don't think i rode more than 24h on a bike all my life (not counting learning how), so my control is not the best. With those flats i can maneuver much better than with a Bullhorn, my daily route is cramped at some places making them much more helpful.
That said, they are not good for speeding. The frame size doesn't help either.
>>933414
Dat rake. The track stem looks kinda silly. -7 degree stem with a flat bar or lower riser would look way better. Besides that it's a dope bike, would ride.
>>933819
Just looking at that bar makes my wrists hurt. There's no way that bar can be more comfy then a bar with plenty of sweep. What's up with the valve on the front wheel? Also nds fail.
>>933965
>There's no way that bar can be more comfy then a bar with plenty of sweep.
I need to pass through places i wouldn't be able to with the original bar size.
>What's up with the valve on the front wheel?
It's a blue light that goes on with impact. It rained and it's not working anymore, it was really cool.
>>933965
Also what's a nds?

Adjusting your speed to braking power available isn't exactly rocket science.
I've been riding brakeless for couple of weeks now. Had a front brake on all my earlier fixed gear bikes but since the current fork hasn't been drilled here I am. Having to rely on rear brake only means I have to approach situations at a lower speed to be able to stop if necessary. It's silly, but I guess I could argue that I'm driving more safely. Won't do it tho. Need to drill that fork asap. Riding brakeless is slowing me down. Also makes situations I can't predict way more dangerous.
>>934154
holy fuck that is nice. Take some decent sized pics one day. Also something tells me that post is too short.
>>934471
>didnt understand the comment about risk compensation
Dude, if you need to take the brakes off the bike to force yourself to ride safely, you're completely beyond any hope. Using that bullshit to justify your brakeless idiocity is frankly so retarded that you should be prevented from breeding.
If you'd at least used the 'looks cleaner and I never ride it anyway' excuse you'd have come out of it as just unsufferably pretentious and not pants-on-head retarded.
>>934337
It's the same thing as people with cars, they feel more powerful, that's why some people become jerks when driving; or walking barefoot, you walk slower.
Without brakes i am more carefull and do less stupid shit. For normal people it doesn't make much difference, but i'm an idiot that rides with carelessness so i kinda need a limiting factor.

I bought it because it was cheap, +-63 USD the bike and +-38 USD the freight.

Does this tire trigger you?

Here.
>>934156
>not leaning it against the rear tire
poor form
ima splatter paint this in neon to look like an 80s huffy freestyle expert
>>934504
Nice. That looks about 72-74? How's it ride? Love that color
>>934463
>a collective of whatever the fuck was cheap
Quality and expensiveness aren't necessarily related though... If you don't know enough to distinguish between Veblen goods, and bikes and parts well-suited to their purposes, then you're probably never going to understand /n/'s otaku passion for bikes of all kinds.

>stis are veblen
>this what ots fags actually believe

Rides well, friction shifting is a pain in the cock though.
>>934566
nah dude friction shifting is really fun
>>934606
There's a new shimano 7 speed cassette on it right now, and a new chain that fits it.
Idk what a ramped freewheel is. The rear derailleur is garbage though, it's plastic. I'm just waiting for it to break. I think it's doing a decent job considering it's designed to be used with 5 cogs.

wow, Trek really upped their game and now slap their brand even on transmission components. Now I'm kinda wonder how it would looks like on that TrekTrekTrekTrek bike.
>>934098
Damn that's sweet. What frame is this?
>>934646
I think it's a Fuji Track.
>>934479
The post you quoted was my first in this thread. I'm not saying it's smart to ride brakeless. I didn't even try to justify it. If I skid underneath a bus while waiting to install that front brake then tough luck. Wouldn't hold my breath tho if I were you. Since I don't ride like an idiot with a deathwish. When I have a proper brake on my bike I will be going faster in certain situations but I still won't be riding like an idiot with a deathwish. But I guess that's too much for you to understand.
>>934646
it's a fuji feather, they're not very good bikes.
they made them to compete with bikes like state bicycle and sole, and the urban outfitters brand
brands like giant came out with so-so fixies as well
>>934613
Are you being serious?
>>933198
There is some kind of optical illusion going on for me with this pic where it looks as if the chain is travelling through the rear wheel and the cassette is on the opposite side of the crank.
this is an old pic
>>933161
i know a lot of people hate on this bike but it looks like it's a blast to ride. It has a ton of personality
Bought my first road bike.
First ride back after broken big toe. Holy fuck ive never felt so out of shape in my life.

Guys leave this roadie cult dork alone. We need day trickle down tech for when the next horse shit industry gimmick convinces him that Di2 is worthless garbage in the years
>>934742
you couldn't hop on a trainer?
>inb4 chain slack
>>934758
> that fucking chain slack
