mini velo thread
what is that?
why does it so gay?
>all that extra weight because of inefficient shape.
Gonna pick this one up when it becomes available.

>not understanding greentext
>not knowing anything about frame construction
>knowing nothing about bicycles in general
>still trying to shitpost on /n/

gay xD lol

if I can't find a better mini velo before its june release I'm going to get one too. I'm going to put on 1x10 or 1x11 (the small ring is more or less useless with the small rear wheel) and a bullhorns for an epic meme race machine
>>932106
How long are minivelos wheelbase compared to folding bikes? I want one but if the wheelbase is long, might as well get a folding right? I'm looking for something i can ride the train with.
>>932169
that really depends on the bike but in general they have similar wheelbases. if you're looking for portability a mini velo simply can't beat a folder, but they aren't really made to compete with folders in that regard desu
Anyone like the respect cycles mini velos?

they seem like nice bikes, but they have no potential for gearing, which is important for me living in a mountainous area. they do sales very regularly and the staff is quite responsive, you should wait for $300 shipped if you're looking to buy one, you might be able to get a discount like that just by emailing them and asking for it
>>932173
Mmmk thanks. Folders aren't cheap, about $700 for one with igh
>>932187
IGH doesn't really interest me, which is unfortunate because it's the only option respect cycles offers. alfine di2 might actually be cool, but as a mechanic I like to be able to work on everything on my bike and I don't really have the expertise nor the interest to pop open a hub
There was a realy cool pic of a bmx bike frame that someone had converted into a neat little minivelo type thing that i used to have but i can't find it anywhere, ive been looking to do something like that myself..
>>932221
this?
>>932221
F1 BMX frames are ideal but harder to find, better geometry for a conversion

pursuit wheel combo of 406/451

tall guys beware
>>932221
shock + fat tires helps negate the drawbacks of 20"
>>932180
I've been on the fence about it for awhile and then I do see the sales and discounts and it makes me want one even more. Also I'm one of those ss fixed gear pariah people that this board seems to hate so I would probably ride it fixed anyways
>>932273
Looks goofy as all hell but I'll bet it's fun to ride
>>932281
It like the fat girl on mopeds yes?!?
Very nice!!!
Old Skool, 18yrs old and still carries my fat 22stone ass
>>932263
I'm guessing they're usually overpriced as well, yeah? I was considering just using a youth bmx frame and spreading the chainstays and such to accommodate a wheel with a cassette, if I didn't want to go with a tiny single speed
>>932106
I'm going to get one, put a road triple and a tight rear cassette, sew up a frame bag and a huge handlebar bag and tour with it
>>932273
Works on a BMX. But Wish I could find a suspension fork for 20" with enough head tube for mini vélos
