kek, this. Pedestrians also always have the right of way, does that mean they should walk across busy lanes of traffic? Fuck waiting at crosswalks for the evil white man sign to light up and give me permission to cross the street. I don't need permission!

A crossing for dogs from America, and people from new Zealand

Well I don't. Only plebs wait.
>rides in the middle of the road, not on the right side
>sees a car approaching at not really high speed
>he has more than ten seconds to react
>he keeps pedaling and stops on the middle of the road when the car is about to hit him
The cager was completely wrong, but come on, the cyclist acted like he wanted to die. If he continues riding like that he won't live much longer, it's a matter of time he becomes roadkill. Will be funny when he gives the video to the police, they will think that the guy is retarded.
Every day I commute on my bike and I looking all the time for threats, If I see something dangerous I try to avoid the danger by stopping at the side or changing my course as much as possible.

>americans can't respond to visual walk sign
>needs audio input

These beeping audio cues are for visually impaired people. Without the cues, these people would have to rely on other pedestrians (who may not even be there), get an escort or dangerously guess the state of the traffic light based on the sounds of traffic.
The voice announcements typically indicate the state of the traffic light, and also provide information about the name of the street and the direction of crossing. In the video, the announcement probably refers to the name of the street, being American Avenue or something of the sort.
These are all pretty handy for sighted people too - The audio cues free my up for looking around while waiting for the light to change, and the push button box typically contains a piezo bit that vibrates with the cues, giving you a tactile indication of traffic light state for when the road is too noisy.
