If its not becoming collectible , they why is it impossible to find one at any price in the USA?
Checkmate atheists.
>collecting bikes
why

You need something better to do than post this shit. Last time was August.
The collectible bikes shitposter makes me kek every time

>collectible bike
RIDE your bike, don't 'collect' them, that makes you a worse hipster than the hipsterist hipster on a fixie.
>>901237
>RIDE your bike, don't 'collect' them
but what about my retirement?
you have to think about the future anon
>>901641
Why not invest in a 401k? Given the fact you aren't asking for a specific brand and model, it's clearly not a Stradivarius.
>but anon, I just want any collectable bike that is guaranteed to rise in value for the next thirty years that I can then sell to buy clean water from the Chinese or Indian godkings after the inevitable apocalypse.
Fine, just search the word 'vintage'on Gumtree or Craigslist. I'm sure the Kashatriya will be happy to pay you exactly what it's worth in the new economy.

you mock the idea but the fact is that many things become collectible and gain value.
Just look at the Huffy Thunder Road 56 made in the late 70s.
if your parents had the foresight, they could have bought them up and kept them in a storage shed in the desert.

You mock the idea, but the fact is that many companies become profitable and gain stock value.
Just look at Apple stocks, incorporated in the late 70's.
If your parents had the foresight, they could have bought them up and kept them in a safety deposit box at home or in a nearby bank.

I found a bike for you.
Will you agree to a five percent finder's fee?
I guarantee the bike will be worth more in twenty or thirty years.
Okay, I trust you.
Here is the bike:

p.s. Showing that Cannondale bicycle has harmed your reputation - you should forget about it - seriously!!!

>>900823

A rare piece of shit bike is still a piece of shit.

500-pound broads are rare. Collectability, ehhhhh…
OMG, I found one, with only hours to spare:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1992-Cannondale-Delta-V-1000-Vintage-Full-Suspension-Mountain-Bike-Super-Rare-/191744048113
I think the asking price of USD $1,007.50 is fair considering the rarity!
>>901915
OMG, this is even more rare and a better value, considering the rarity

This year for xmas I have a fever... and the only thing that will cure it... is a collectible bike helmet.
Pls guys I have been at this for months and still no bike helmet.
Any leads or bike helmet finding tips would be greatly appreciated.

If there's one cycling related thing that's definitely uglier than its modern counterpart, that is helmets.

>"Huffy thunder road 56 from the 70's looks very much to be original maybe the kickstand isn't. Make as offer very clean bike ready to ride or resto awesome shape and condition."
This seems to be the item, a fair description given pics. Sold for $135, a fair price compared to a Walmart BSO. I would buy that and give it to a kid to ride, and he would have the coolest wheels on the block! But that would not repay my forsightful parents 40 years of storage anywhere. T-bonds ftw.
Old bikes are a cool hobby, but a lousy retirement plan.
>>902175
Me again; Double post. That eBay DeltaV was asking $800, but I don't think it sold. Don't know anything about bouncy bikes, but a +1 might be fun. I could have the coolest wheels on the block! If I offered them $500, would /n/ say I fucked up? Would that broken monoshock be a maintenance nightmare? Is it an OK bike by todays $500 standards? Or should I just keep rolling around on my trusty city bike...
>when collectible bike dude posted, I would reply with my muddy, upgraded, working-every-day classic old bike still worth $500.
>>902175
That is not the collectible one. That one is newer and not nearly as cool. It is however worth way more than 135 bucks, that guy got a steal.
The easy way to tell them apart is the banana seat. See how that one is stubby? The one that is collectible is longer and looks more like the normal banana seats from the era.
>>902178
>Would that broken monoshock be a maintenance nightmare?
the headshock? the parts in it are proprietary and no longer made. if it breaks, bike is no mas. if you're saying it's already broken, it ain't worth shit.
i think the rear shock is also supposed to be crap in terms of geo and bounce absorbing all your power just because they didn't know what they were doing at that point, IIRC
